Scroger, yeah things seem to be ripening up ok, I`m hoping to chop the majority of the Arma`s on Tuesday, but will see how they do. It seems the swelling has finished or slowed right down.

Hey I popped in my room and found my light went off for 15mins, 10 hrs into the 12hr light cycle. The segment timer had one of the notches out of position. God knows how long that`s been going on. Hope it dont do nothing freaky, and at least it wasn`t the dark cycle that was disturbed.

Also noticed some distinct and full yellow edging to the leaves on 2 or 3 of the Grapefruit tops. I dont understand this, they`ve just gone to flush today with plain water.

I grabbed a couple of pic`s, but with the light`s on so forget the colours you see here, the leaves are a rich green and the lighter edge you can see is bright yellow.

Its only appearing in one area and all the affected leaves may even belong to one plant, couldn`t quite work that out without having a good rummage through the undergrowth with someone`s help to see which ones move when I jiggle them from underneath. Any ideas what may cause this??

Hey Scrogger, Yeah it is weird for sure. As I said its only on 3 tops in one area of the row of tops. I`ve never seen such an affect in sick plant guides etc. It is an area that is directly under the light every other day, ie.its moved from one end of the row to the other each day.

Yeah the foxtailing may be down to or antagonised by the heat, but all the pics I found of mature Grapefruit seem to show this trait so not really sure, A bit like the mature pics of silver haze and the like do.

I`m hoping to see some reasonable swell in these Grapefruit in the final 10 days or a whole bunch of foxtailing, we`ll see.

Bright yellow margin to those leaves is a strange one tho eh. I`m popping back home soon and will knock the lights off briefly to take some more accurate shots of these leaves for help with diagnosis.

Scroger, this was first noticed on the day I commenced the plain water flush, which they`ll br on till the end now. Prior to that they had 3 days of feed at strength ec0.9, and before that was the higher PK13/14, (2/3rds recommended dose) at ec1.4-ec1.5. I cant see why they`d be having nute def`s.

Hopefully its too late to really do any real harm as far as production is concerned.

Easy life at the mo, just feeding everything PH`d RO water as everything is now in flush.

Hey guys here are some better pics of the yellow rim to the leaves in the one area.

All the heads have foxtails on the Grapefruits. One or two of the Arma`s have them too, so the heat is probably affecting them a bit, though I do think its the style of the GF`s too.

I`m supposed to be chopping the ARma`s on Tuesday, but I`m not sure they`re really there yet, despite having 8 weeks, a week longer than the ones tried in the tent grow. The leaves are fading in colour a bit, but I reckon could go further. The bud looks good and I think any swell is over, but I`m thinking it could ripen more without too much risk of mold. One good thing about having several smaller cola`s is that there is not the same chance of mold developing from the inside of baseball bat cola`s!

Here are the Arma`s on day 54, what do you think guys? Time is pushing for me, but I think may need a few days more.

Yeah dude, I prefer the heavier stone and like my bud to be nicely ripened. I know it`d be more than passable as it is, but I want it tip top. I think ideally I`d let it go another week to 10 days, but time constraints wont allow that. Its looking better in every way by the day though, so Friday should be good.

Things to do whilst waiting chop day! Day 57, of a supposed 49

Well I`m in the process of making some ultra strong canna butter.

Here I start by boiling half a pound of butter in about 4-5 pints of water, I take the majority of the foam scum from the surface to leave this.

Into this I add 4 and a half ounces of very resinous trim. This trim is from my last crop of Cheese, where something fooked up and it produced tiny buds but shit loads of very resinous leaves.

Then simmer away, stirring occaisionally, for as long as it takes to evaporate nearly all of the water, being carefull not to burn the soggy mess at the bottom of the pan.

After 45-90mins later it should look something like this.

Then place a piece of muslin across a suitable bowl/bowls. ( if you intend using the same bowl to collect your butter, be sure to press out in one go. If you half fill it then take a few minutes before doing the rest, it`ll have started to set and you`ll get the crabby water and detritus mixed with your butter, doing it in small amounts are easier to squeeze out by hand.)

then gather ina good fist sized ball and wring it out, squeezing thoroughly.

A bowl of canna butter sitting on top of the shitty water, put this into the fridge overnight before removing the disc of butter. You`ll need to rinse the shit off of the underside before storing in the freezer.

And the second bowl of lovely ultra strong butter, yummy edibles coming right up.

My plants are getting nicely ripe now, I`m glad I let them go a few days longer.

I`m pleased to say that enough healthy plants came through of the Arma cut`s I took for my next grow. I`m hoping for a very swift change over, as soon as the current crop are finished these are going to sit in there under a couple of 400w MH bulbs.

Good pics toke, I like the butter ones... Nice mini tutorial, looks quite simple, may have to try it myself. Some cookies would be nice does it smell of bud when using the butter to bake? I'm with you on leaving them longer to finish off, the buds have swollen really nicely on the Arma's and grapefruits. I had a spliff of something my mate was claiming was grapefruit and if it's the same as what u have you will be very pleased as this stuff really was nice.

Hey Scroger `n Shhh, things are looking nice and the Arma buds have ripened well and as you say Shhh swollen nicely.

The Grapefruit doesn`t seem to have done much over the last week, I`m wondering if they might have another week left in them, but I cant let them sit for another week. There are no fresh pistils and they`ve all receded. Yeah Shhh, it looks and smells great and I cant wait to try it out. Yeah Scroger, I may try GH ripen out on one row next time and see if there`s a noticeable difference in quality or quantity.

So its chop time for the Arma`s on Friday and the Grapefruit and two Big Bud get chopped next Tuesday.

I`m finding it very difficult to estimate final results, its the first time I`ve got anywhere like successful with this monsta scrog. I`m finding it hard to see it breaking records for me, but you never know. I`m content with the knowledge that I`m not looking at a disasterous yield as with my past few grows.

Ah yes the butter, its fooking wonderful stuff, I just love it. I`ve always been into getting all I can out of the "waste" material. Well I dont know about my favourites Scrogger, but you`re making my mouth water with your suggestions. I mostly go with Asda`a double choc chip cookies, I`ve tried all of them virtually and the Asda ones come out best for me. The reason for cookies is that they keep and travel well. I guess my fav is a sticky flapjack, but I may try making some fudge again. I usually divvy my trim up between butter and BHO, my favc two hits. My cookies hit you in waves for several hours and are not usually manageable for people who`ve already got a few pints in them.

Anyway, after a night in the fridge the two bowls look like this.

Remove carefully from the bowl by sliding a knife under an edge.

Then turn upside down and rinse under the cold tap to remove the crud that you`ll find there.

Then you`re left with the lovely end product, wrap in tin foil, bag it and freeze it.

The shitty water left in the bowl is washed away down the sink.

I didn`t intend on doing a mini tutorial on canna butter making, but if any questions arise feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, Shhh, yeah stinks a little when baking with the butter, but not too bad, but man boiling it down with butter smells soooo much it can almost make ya wanna puke. The smell lingers in a house for a couple of days after too.

One more day til the first chop, cant wait to see it trimmed and hanging, I`ll have more idea if its going to be looking good yield wise.

Hey Bones, good to see you bro`. Yeah, you know I think you may be right. The ARma`s have started losing their colour, after 17 day flush, but the Grapefruit are still rich and lush. I have the feeling that the plants could be holding more bud than they are, and the drop in N is definitely something I`ll give a go next time around.

Well guys as Scroger suggested, I think I`m going to be pleasantly surprised, It looks like a fair amount hanging after a 7 hour trim, 3 of us. The two rows of Arma`s are down, leaving 3 big bud, two of which are scrawny lil plants, and the 4 Grapefruit, which although the colas are not complete and solid, but the stems are long and the nugs are tight and dense, and I think it will produce quite well.

Although the Grapefruit and a big bud take up the middle of three rows, its more than a 3rd of the grow due to having lights on movers at each side as well as one directly above. Now the outside rows are down I`ve tilted the outside lights on movers towards the centre row so they`re really getting lots of lumens for the last few days. I`ve also shoved reflectors up to the sides of the Grapefruit all around them and toto`d up the outer limbs. This is now penetrating light deep into an under the canopy which will help ensure that any lower bud will get some light toripen under, instead of having those yellow lower buds. Its worth it as there`s no popcorn, all the lower bud are firm chunky nugs. I`d usually leave the lower buds on for a few days whilst sorting the room out, as I`ve done with the few lower buds that were on the Arma`s, but I dont have the time after the GF` come down on Mon or Tues.

The GF`s look well ready now, but a few days wont harm them, especially with all the extra lumens. I`ve got loads of fans blowing on the Gf`s to keep them cool enough under the lights.

Cant wait to see what the final yield is, I reckon there`s probably near 40oz hanging so far, give or take, which is excellent news after recent grows,

Well having taken another look at what`s left, I`m getting quite excited. Although the outer two rows of Arma`a are down, the remaining row of GF`s is 1.1meter wide, 1.8m long, this works out at 1.98m2. The total screen area is 4.65m2. You see what I`m getting at here, the remaining row of GF`s take up much more than a 3rd of the screen, nearer half in fact. With what has come off the Arma`s already, if these weigh in ok, which I think they will, there is a chance I`ll be breaking personal records after all, perhaps by quite a margin.

We`ll see anyway, not getting my hopes up in that direction too much, but it is looking realistic. Its going to be at least a decent yield.

I`ve take a few pics of what is remaining.

Very little bottom bud, and what`s there is chunky and fat, just needs a couple of days exposure to the light to darken up a bit.

Well that`s it for now, I wanna sing and dance a bit. . . . but I`ll wait till its all done and dusted.

Hi guys, not much to report now, its a matter of waiting for the Arma`s to dry out and for the Grapefruit and BB`s to come down in a couple of days.

Then its all hands on deck to get cleared up to get the next lot under a MH lamp, no wasting time, I have 15 Arma`s ready to go.

In the meantime, I`ve just made a batch of lush high strength cookies. Its the easiest and most convenient form of edibles.

I`m not sure how to equate how much of a dose you take with one of these potent biscuits. I use 4.5oz of the most resinous trim (I grade my waste and trim, Fan leaf, 2nd grade trim, which is bigger leaves partly covered with trich`s, and 1st grade, the small bud trim that is drenched in trich`s, its this that I use for making butter), So its 4.5oz `st grade trim into 8oz butter, after the process the butter weighs in at around 6.5-7oz canna butter. I then use 1oz butter per 12 cookies, which equates to 84 full doses from 4.5oz of potent trim, about 20 cookies per oz of trim (you can always do smaller bits for a lighter dose) They`re lethal to people with a few drinks in them, its the ole white death for sure.

Here are some pics of the cookie making, you can tell I`ve got plenty of spare time at the mo!

Asda double choc chip cookie mix, add 1oz of your favourite melted butter and 2 dessert spoons of cold water. . . .

I wear these disposable rubber gloves to avoid softening my guitar playing hands! Mix thoroughly. . . . .

Till you get this. . . .

Then make 12 balls from the mix. . . . .

and then place on a greased baking tray and place in the oven, gas mark 5 for about 6 mins. On the packet, it recommends 10-12 mins, but that bakes them too hard and burns a lot of the canna oil out of them. The way I make them above is the perfect texture, still slightly bready like a soft ginger bread, and they keep the potency.

Bloody hell mate those buds look like you pumped em up on steds the last week or so, they finished up real good. I thought it was looking fat(The yield) & i hope you smash you PB. Thats the whole point of the Scrog bro, Bloody Nice Job, your pateince & hard work has paid off Cant wait to hear your final 'Yield n Smoke' report on this successfull grow, Im made up for you buddy!
Ive been shopping & im getting excited myself, should'nt be too long n Scrogger wil be Scroggin again, where i belong. Just a few bits to get, then a re-build & im off, happy days man! Good Luck.

btw, Yeah, going back to what BoneC was saying, i still aint decided what to go for on the finishing side. Im thinking of getting a complete Micro with secondarys & a PK product(dont know which yet), so i completely lose the Nitro from wk 6-7, then finish off with Ripen & a good Flush. Be using BudCandy if i can afford it too, dont fancy sticking Mollasses in a DWC Res!
I think Canna have brought out a complete Micro formula with their new Mono range, i think so anyway, ill have to check out whats in that one! Can anyone offer up a good N free formula for finishing apart from GHRipen, id only run that stuff for a week at the end then a 7+ day flush, plenty in DWC imo!

Aye Scrogger, them cookies gonna be good, was too fucked today to try one, maybe tmro. Me too, I`m going to look more carefully at the N issue mid to late flower, one thing I cant quite figure is that my mate`s tent grow gets exactly the same regime as mine with the exception that tap water is used there and I use a mix of RO and tap water and the funny thing is, the ones in the tent lose there rich green colour as they start canabilsing themselves quicker than mine, how do you figure that out mate?

Bones, if you`re looking in, how often do you flush your coco within your feeding regime? I`ve always understood that its not a good thing in coco, but I`ve had to re=align my way of thinking on many points over the past year or so.

I might have overestimated the amount of Arma harvested, now its shrunk up drying, lol, it`ll still be good though I`m sure of that. Its drying a bit quickly so I`ve tupperwared most of it up to dry evenly as I burp the tubs over the next few days.

The Grapefruit and Big Bud are coming down tmro, yeay!

If I can get a hand blender off a mate in the next hour I`m going to make some bubble hash in the bubble sacks. I prefer BHO as a rule, but I`ve shitloads of good trim left from the last grow still and a good lump of quality hash is going to be good to take on my hols.

I`ll no doubt post some pics of the results if I do.
