Hydroponics Nutrients for Medical Marijuana Gain Government Approval

SEATTLE, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In a landmark decision, Oregon regulators have given first-ever official US approval to a brand of medical marijuana hydroponics nutrients.

Oregon and most other states have regulatory agencies that examine fertilizers and hydroponics plant supplements to determine the legitimacy, ingredients and effectiveness of plant growth products.

Advanced Nutrients co-founder Michael Straumietis welcomes the news that Oregon's government proffered formal approval for an Advanced Nutrients formula designed for a specific strain of medical marijuana.

"Regulatory approval is a breakthrough for the medical marijuana community," Straumietis explains. "For the first time, government regulators have examined and affirmed the use of crop-specific medical marijuana hydroponics nutrients."

Until Straumietis asked regulators to evaluate the medical marijuana effectiveness and safety of Advanced Nutrients hydroponics formulas, regulators nationwide had apparently never considered how hydroponics nutrients specifically affect medical marijuana crops.

''It hasn't been part of the discussion, until now,'' Straumietis explains. "For example, when fertilizer regulators evaluate fertilizers that have labels claiming to produce larger tomatoes, they require specific efficacy data proving those claims. Now Oregon regulators have opened the door for formal evaluation of hydroponics nutrients and medical marijuana growth, quality and yield."

Oregon medical marijuana patients, cultivators, doctors and advocates applauded the regulatory decision, citing their long-held concern that regulators were not looking at how hydroponics nutrients interact with medical marijuana.

"Advanced Nutrients and the medical marijuana community give kudos to Oregon regulators for being the first state regulators to evaluate the science of medical marijuana and hydroponics nutrients," Straumietis says. "Our community is looking for similar action from regulators in other medical marijuana states."

Wonder what exactly his statement here means? Strain being indica or sativa, or some bizarre strain we have never heard of and will never be able to obtain? Otherwise good to hear.:dance013:

its a bloom booster....you WILL need a source of N and micros obviously to grow a complete crop...wtf is this even talking about or even mean.....soo confusing and stupid really

I don't know about stupid but this means that nute companies are going to have to start standing behind their products. This is just another piece of the puzzle towards legalization being played.

This is a good thing. If the bottle says, . "applie once and double your yields." then it better be true now. No more BS. Now if they could only do this with strains.

Now they can "improve" the formula and cut its strength in half

more like add water and double the price....

all i can say is now other nute companies can take his million dollar challenge.....this sets the bar for fertilizer companies to up theyre product ads for MJ...and do studies for mj specific ...

bulldog....if they say it will double your yield what in the fuck is that supposed to mean!? a very inexperienced grower will probably use it, burn his plants, and fuck his yield up! so once again what in the fuck does this mean?! i dont get it!

any claims for a product to increase yield is just stupid because how in the fuck can you gaurentee that the product actually does increase your yield....no 2 plants r EXACTLY EXACTLY the same, nor are the conditions of one grow the same as the last....NEVER EVER exactly the same.....sooooo yeaaaaa

they should.

its not a bottles fault the grow-room is 104,
or that they didnt get watered for the last 4 days,
or the owner lets pidermites get infested.
any guarantee is only under best conditions.

kushykush did a decent job improving yield (only 5% on my first run, but still) and smell seams to have gained a tad.

regardless of the fact that each bottle i used (4, 1L's one for each week. what? alot of plants.) had a different lable. (ingrediant list, added urea, added "fractionated plant extracts" re-aranged order, changed from 1-17-7 to a 1-2-5

that explains why they put "this product is intended for medical merijuana only" on the back.

Although I do applaud AN for catering to the MJ market, I think they are a pure marketing gimmick. Kushie Kush is just a bloom booster. Use some PK 13/14 or KoolBloom. same stuff.

For example: AN's Bud Candy is the same as SaferGro's Fulmag. AN's cost $10-15 more than SaferGro's.

why even use koolbloom or pk, get some monopottasium sulfate and its that same stuff without the fancy die, bottle or label

AN is trying waaaay too hard to be something that dead things have been for thousands of years... it's starting to hurt my ears.

I've gained five percent just because the Bears won.

on what planet are these two products even remotely similar?

I am in no way an AN fanboy... I do use Bud Candy (the only AN product I use) and will be deciding this year in a side by side experiment whether or not I will be using it in the future, BUT... I don;t think the products you sight have much similarity at all.

This regulatory thing is a step in the right direction for ganja nutes.... on the basis that claims made will have to be supported... funny that AN is the one to do it as there is no other company that is challenged by serious growers as much as AN for making BS claims.

Again, while not a fanboy AN has some innovative ideas... like pre-bufferred nutes so you don't have to spend a bunch of time adjusting pH after u have mixed a solution. Its not making me run out the door to buy a bunch of AN nutes, but its a quality that I would not copmplain about if it were applied to the bottled products I do use.

I also agree that a 5% increase in yield could be the result of your new cologne, just as easily as the addition of KK to your steeze. Unless you ran a valid control group alongside the AN group, you have no data to support and the percentage is way too small to mean anything.

I think overall it's a great step forward.....the aknowledgrment by our govt. about what the nutes are used for. Plus like mentioned above, no unfounded claims by the products manufacturer.

I applaud AN for their campaighn showing exactly what their customers are using their product to grow.

Try talking to any nute dealer about growing weed..haha.. throw you out the door.

btw I'm not promoting AN,,,just their willingness to tell the truth about what these nutes are for. GH, or other front running nutrient suppliers doesn't want to discuss marijuana cultivation but they will take all your money..

peace
