Jpizle, the following was taken from Cannabis.com's grow FAQ

1. Air temperature

Your standard mercury/alcohol-bulb or digital thermometer is designed to measure the temperature of the air (But not radiant heat). This is what is being referred to in the usual growers 'rules of thumb' such as maintaining your grow above 16degC and below 30degC.

Most thermometers are only designed to measure air temperature – growers often mistakenly place their thermometer in direct light; radiant energy will warm your thermometer and give a higher than actual reading.

*Assuming your air is well mixed up by oscillating fans, it doesn’t really matter where you locate your thermometer. The best spot is probably about half the way up a wall, with a piece of cardboard over it (To shade it from radiant heat), exposed to the mixed air in the grow room.

2. Radiant temperature

Radiant temperature is the result of heat transfer bewteen objects at different temperatures without whats inbetween i.e. the air, being effected. In our case the plants are naturally at a lower temperature that the light and reflector so heat is transferred to the plants foliage from the light/refecltor through radiation. This causes the leaves to heat up. The plants can withstand much higher radiant temperatures (around 40-50degC) than they can air temperatures but if this is too high the plants can 'burn'.

The plants can withstand much higher radiant temperatures than they can air temperatures, but if this is too high the plants can “burn”.

'The hand test': Place your hand in a comfortable position for some time at the tips of your plants should be. If your hand feels “hot”, then the lights are too close, the radiant energy is too intense, and light burn may result. Do this test and raise your HID lights/reflectors periodically to keep light burn to a minimum.

Finally, monitor the conditions in your grow regularly as things are changing all the time, and you will soon get to understand the thermal dynamics of your particular grow space so you can get the most from it.

For future reference, if you run a digital 250 in the Secret Jardin DR60, your temperatures should be fine as long as you have a fan for extraction and passive intake flaps open. Now if the room that your tent is in is too hot, then you may want to go with the 150w.

His thread actually states that he got a seed from a bag of bogbubble.
So, is he lying and you can show me something else? I am all ears.
What do you have the points to him not having what he says he has? Did he post differently somewhere?

Very nice to know StinkyPanda thanks dude.

Temps have calmed down for the day since its finally starting to cool down outside, was 114 degrees here today heat index.

Did take the reflector off so now I just have the socket and bulb hanging, also installed the other fan for exhuast. Seems to be doing better, guess I'll find out tomorrow. At 80 right now with thermometer laying right next to the pots, guess everywhere could be considered 'under' the bulb now with no reflector.

Day 86 of 12/12 - 2 clone harvest

Day 86 of 12/12 - 2 clone harvest

I've used Nirvana seeds years ago, no complaints here when I grew seeds out. I wouldn't know about them in this day n age, I'd research more bro.

Harvested a set of 2 clones last night @ day 86.
60% cloudy / 40% amber ..
13 colas ... 6 from 1 clone .. 7 from other clone

got 1 clone left that I'm letting go amber as its twin I have curing is a strong head high with not enough body so I'm lettin it couchlock up for sleep smoke.

fyi .. all bare spots on stems are where I was picking buds to smoke weeks before. :)
picture.php

btw .. dry weight of earlier harvested single clone was 19.3 grams .. thats more than the 14 grams HD guessed and less than the Oz i guessed. :)

Jun 25th -8 clones - Start of 12/12

Jun 25th -8 clones - Start of 12/12

With 1 clone left in growroom, I simply put it in a empty closet to stay in dark until I cut it. Had to make room for set of 8 clones that are ready for flower.

6 clones are in 3 liter pots - other 2 clones are in 2 liter pots. Will be adding a few 32watt 4100k cfls in growroom soon to get more resin production outta plants this round. Also not gonna lst these, gonna add a screen for scrog. The 2 clones in front in 2 liter pots are already 1 week into 12/12, the other 6 I just put in last night.

Nice man. What strain was the one you just harvested? Like how you harvested some early for that daytime weed and some late for the nighty night. How big of a space do you grow in?

BTW- With the reflector off my temps are holding at 79 day and night. Got 2 seedlings just breaking the soil now. :jump:

Dimensions are 36 H - 20 W -18 L.

Here's the story.
I had a mother plant that came from an unknown bagseed that I kept alive for 9 years. It was very potent and tasted like fruitypebbles cereal with floral rose smell. I cloned the hell outta her and flowered many times and enjoyed the great smoke.

I used a white widow male to pollinate that mother plant and it produced thousands of seeds. All plants/harvests in my albums came from the seeds from that cross that i cloned. I grew out 5 plants and ended up with 3 females.

Out of those 3, I cloned 2 of them. The other plant wasn't up to par in quality. 2 different plants and finish times. I have 4 of each in flower now. :)

Whoa 9 years holy shit didnt know a weed plant could live that long. So I guess all the grows you do now are from clones of the 3 that you grew from seed? Can you cut the buds off a plant then put it back in 24/0 to restart veg? And then clone it and rebud again? That would be awesome.

I hope to eventually get to the point where I have a few tents goin all the time in 12/12 for perpetual harvest and use my lil cab just for veggin to feed the flower tents. Would like to get into cloning and breeding as well. Ahh the possibilities(sp). I'll get there....

Voted one of ICMAGs most influentual, good job guys, lots of great info here, my thanks to all who participate for helpin noobs such as myself.

Yep 9 years .. take 20 cuts to clone = plant bushes out more = more cuts for clones. I kept it under 2 ft but bushy as hell with lower wattage lighting to reduce growth rate. All I wanted were a constant supply of clones. All pics I had were on overgrow. I did however send clones of that mother plant to a friend/breeder/grower and she has the cut still going, i can get back anytime i want.

Yeah grows now are cuts/clones from 2 out of 3 seed grown plants that were female. I clone in veg and in first 2-3 weeks of flower. In the past I've cut off 8 week n older bottom buds and rooted them in 2 weeks no prob. It takes an extra week or so to start new growth again as clone is changing from flower reverting back to veg again. I've also flowered plants and harvested all but the bottom buds and switched lights back to 20/4 to reveg. Takes 2-3 weeks usually until plants really start kickin in again. . Plants get bushy when revegged.

Cool Acro, good to know man.

Anyone use Earth Juice nutes? What'd ya think? Thinking of gettin a 2 pack of grow/bloom and a small bottle (quart) of the Micro Blast trace minerals. Not sure I really need the veg nutes as I will be switching to 12/12 at like 6-8", not sure if I even need nutes to get em that big....? Guess I could always use it on outdoor plants.

Thanks

Do you use the bloom fert and the micro blast or whatever additive together when flowering? Like mix them up together in the same gallon of water, then adjust the PH if needed? Or do you use them at different times? Trying to keep it as simple as possible.

How did you manage the mothers root ball? Did you trim and repot once a year or less with the lower wattage?

hey sorry diddnt sea your post well all through flower i use earthjuice bloom and a tbl mollassas

the first two weeks of flower i use two tbl of from the earth bat guano and one tbl earthjuice bloom and 3/4 tsp foxfarms beastly blooms and when i mix that i mix the mollassas and ej and bat guanno then ph up to blue green then i add the foxfarms beastly blooms cuz the ff brings it back down to orange yello. i stop the guano at two weeks

then at 4 weeks flower i use 1 tbls mollassas, 1tbls earthjuice bloom, and i switch from beastly blooms to 3/4 tsp foxfarms cha ching
at 6 weeks flower i start flush
and thats it easy as pie
i use foxfarms beastly blooms and chaching cuz ther alot better sources of micro nutes earth juice micro blast sucks ive seen no good from it no matter what the doseif you got the cash ide recamend ff but if not i could point you towrds a supplement for cheaper but cheaper gets cheaper
