You do realize that is a picture of Tesla's Electric broadcast antenna, right?

See, Tesla's thing with energy through the ground was to bypass the massively expensive infrastructure needed to bring a wire to every household. In fact, his early work was conducted in Colorado Springs, and it worked.

What's pictured there is a GIANT Tesla Coil, designed to send electricity through the ground. But the power did not come from the air. It was generated by a power plant.

He did also have ideas of transmitting power through the ionosphere, but again, the power didn't come FROM the air. That was just the wires, so to speak. Unfortunately, he was never able to pursue that work to a prototype.

He DID have an idea for a tapping the sun's energy with a giant antenna, but, again, never actually developed a prototype.

But what's pictured there is a giant Tesla coil, for sending electricity without wires through the earth, not capturing it from the air.

Picture is the Wardenclyffe Tower indeed a Tesla coil. His idea was to use vacuum energy and convert it into usable energy. These coils are indeed to transmit energy through ionosphere like pic below.

One of the greatest minds this world has seen, and despite all the patents he died a poor man, go figure. He had a pure passion for the advancement of mankind.

Uh... yea. A power grid that runs in the atmosphere. That looks like a real winner.

I'll bet the hoaxists would never find a way to blame that on global warming, global cooling, weather changes, and anything else that strikes their fancy (crime, brain tumors, dog kicking, premature ejaculation, what have you).

Naw, we'll stick to what we have.

Speaking of the oil spill caused by the president - Looks like he just lost a big court case.

His dumb ass moratorium on drilling was just thrown out on its ass by a federal judge.

Judge block Gulf offshore drilling moratorium

The moratorium ruling will be appealed. Until then, the moratorium will remain. If the appeal is overturned it's like the ruling never took place.

The only thing thrown out on it's ass is a poor understanding of the ruling.

Well you can thank Tesla for the infrastructure we have today as well. Otherwise, there would be a power plant everyfew blocks, had we went Edison's route. Tesla was a pioneer in the distribution of polyphase AC we use today. I am not a fan of the Tesla coil wireless transmissions. But, there are MANY more discoveries in his field of electriciy of his, still used in todays electrical infrastructure.

Cite? Show me where it will automatically remain in force as opposed to the government now having show that they have a strong preponderance to winning the case in order to get an injunction set aside this ruling on appeal?

I've got a better idea. Take your oil company out to the Gulf and start drilling. You'll be the only one. If the appeal doesn't go your way you're breaking the moratorium. No better proof than going to jail.

I know the moratorium didn't evaporate. The system has an appeal process. Until that runs out or the ruling is opposed, the moratorium is in place.

Like I said. Without a cite, it was simply pulled from your ass.
No cite + pulled from ass = shitty analasys.
Understand :)

Glad we got it settled. The moratorium is blocked.

"thrown out on it's ass"

You got a real ass fixation there, W-r.

Next time you want to interpret law, cite it yourself.

Under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
Rule 60. Relief from Judgment or Order
(a) Clerical Mistakes. Clerical mistakes in judgments, orders or other parts of the record and errors therein arising from oversight or omission may be corrected by the court at any time of its own initiative or on the motion of any party and after such notice, if any, as the court orders. During the pendency of an appeal, such mistakes may be so corrected before the appeal is docketed in the appellate court, and thereafter while the appeal is pending may be so corrected with leave of the appellate court.
(b) Mistakes; Inadvertence; Excusable Neglect; Newly Discovered Evidence; Fraud, Etc. On motion and upon such terms as are just, the court may relieve a party or a party's legal representative from a final judgment, order, or proceeding for the following reasons: (1) mistake, inadvertence, surprise, or excusable neglect; (2) newly discovered evidence which by due diligence could not have been discovered in time to move for a new trial under Rule 59(b); (3) fraud (whether heretofore denominated intrinsic or extrinsic), misrepresentation, or other misconduct of an adverse party; (4) the judgment is void; (5) the judgment has been satisfied, released, or discharged, or a prior judgment upon which it is based has been reversed or otherwise vacated, or it is no longer equitable that the judgment should have prospective application; or (6) any other reason justifying relief from the operation of the judgment. The motion shall be made within a reasonable time, and for reasons (1), (2), and (3) not more than one year after the judgment, order, or proceeding was entered or taken. A motion under this subdivision (b) does not affect the finality of a judgment or suspend its operation. This rule does not limit the power of a court to entertain an independent action to relieve a party from a judgment, order, or proceeding, or to grant relief to a defendant not actually personally notified as provided in Title 28, U.S.C., § 1655, or to set aside a judgment for fraud upon the court. Writs of coram nobis, coram vobis, audita querela, and bills of review and bills in the nature of a bill of review, are abolished, and the procedure for obtaining any relief from a judgment shall be by motion as prescribed in these rules or by an independent action.

Obama Boss George Soros Ready To Profit From Oil Disaster

by Tammy on June 14, 2010

Perhaps this is why drilling in Alaska is off the table–it would actually keep America safe and strong and won’t make Obama Boss George Soros even richer than he is now.

Interestingly, it seems the more trouble we have, the better it is for Soros. Last year, Soros noted he was “having a very good crisis” having bet against the United States and profiting from her economic downturn.

Now we learn Soros is set to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Gulf oil catastrophe. With Obama’s ‘moratorium’ and the Obama Admin’s general hostility to drilling, it’s reported many oil companies have already looked into with Brazil regarding a move those shores. And what is Soros principally invested in right now? Petrobras, the Brazilian state oil company.

Obama’s Boss Sees Silver Lining in BP Spill

Reuters is reporting that Brazil stands to benefit from the BP oil spill catastrophe as the US moratorium makes more rigs available for other countries.

Even as an ecological catastrophe makes the future of U.S. offshore drilling less certain, Brazil is plowing ahead with a $220 billion five-year plan to tap oil fields even deeper than BP’s ill-fated Gulf well, which is still leaking crude.

It’s estimated that thirty five rigs are now sitting idle in the Gulf of Mexico. Brazil is already getting inquiries from companies wanting to move their rigs there. Brazil’s state oil company, Petrobras already produces about a fourth of the world’s deep water oil…

The shortage of rigs could help Brazil become a major oil exporter.

What an amazing stroke of good fortune for Obama’s boss, unrepentant Nazi collaborator, George Soros! Soros is also invested in offshore oil drilling in Brazil, assisted by the American taxpayers.

Soros Fund Management, LLC holds a stake in Petrobras of approximately $900 million as of December 31, 2009.

George Soros’ principal investments are in oil; one in particular is Petrobras, the Brazilian-owned company. This happens to be the largest investment in the Soros portfolio at the present time.

Soros also owns quite a lot of real estate in Brazil. Soros’ Adecoagro, which invests in renewable energy, owns or leases about 840,000 acres of farmland in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay growing coffee, soybeans and other commodities. Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Bunge Ltd. Are also expanding into ethanol in Brazil.

When you get to boss the president around, you never have to let a good crisis go to waste.

UPDATE: Dan in comments reminded me of the $2 billion loan deal Obama made to Brazil last year, furthering the connection between Obama, our tax dollars, and Soros’ business. here’s the WSJ’s take on the matter on August 18, 2009

Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling
Too bad it’s not in U.S. waters.

You read that headline correctly. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil.

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.

Now I understand! :jump:

Yes, that is the Wardenclyffe tower. But no, it was not designed to send electricity through the ionosphere.

Tesla's theory, gathered while doing his experiments in Colorado Springs, was that when lightning struck the earth, it set up waves through the earth. With that belief, he began taking measurements, and found that the earth was "literally alive with electrical vibrations."

He then postulated that if the earth were a good conductor, then he could send almost unlimited amount of power through the ground with little loss. To prove this, he set up his first tower in Colorado Springs, and was able to light his wireless lightbulbs buried in the ground miles away. It fried the power companies dynamo, too, which he had to replace.

Not surprising, really, since he was in effect creating a massive ground short :D

But he was validated, and wanted to repeat his success on a larger scale, so he moved to New York. His investors at the time were responding to Tesla's concept of wireless information network in the air, or as we know it today, radio, which he'd also been experimenting with in Colorado.

Unfortunately, he spent the money constructing another tower to test his underground wireless power transmission further, not working on his wireless network. The very construction of the tower reflects this. It had a huge shaft that went down 120 feet, with 16 giant iron pipes going three hundred feet deeper, specifically so the currents would be passed deep deep into the ground.

Nikola Tesla said:
In this system that I have invented it is necessary for the machine to get a grip of the earth, otherwise it cannot shake the earth. It has to have a grip... so that the whole of this globe can quiver.

But, the tower was never fully completed because of cost over runs, and his investors were "once bitten, twice shy". It became known as "Tesla's Million Dollar Folly", and probably contributed greatly to his decline.

He DID postulate about the ionosphere, many of which were eventually proven to be true, but not until the 1950s. But he never attempted it, nor built a prototype. He was much more able to focus on his ground transmission theory, and did.

The tragedy of Tesla is that he been slightly more business minded, he probably would have changed the world. If he had pursued the wireless communication attempts, as promised, he would have beaten Marconi to the punch, and been able to fund his more magnificent ideas. Instead, he mislead investors, and even worse, tore up patent royalty contracts with Westinghouse that would have made him a very wealthy man.

Tesla was an incredible visionary, and a man of extraordinary genius beyond his time.

If you want to speculate about his missing papers and discoveries, I like to focus on a statement he made in 1931, where he commented he'd discovered an entirely new source of power.
"The idea first came upon me as a tremendous shock... I can only say at this time that it will come from an entirely new and unsuspected source."

The reason I find that to be key ties into his later inventions, including his announcement in 1934 of what the press called Tesla's Death Ray. We know those now to be lasers and pulse weapons. We also know now that they take tremendous amounts of power. Especially for his claim of being able to knock ten thousand planes out of the air at 250 miles.

So, Tesla obviously felt he had the ability to generate that much power, anywhere in the world.

Now, Tesla really shined in high frequency electrical theory and application, and also in resonant frequencies (picture the glass shattering from a certain note).

I think Tesla invented a technique for turning water into fuel using high frequency electrical energy that 'shattered' water, allowing a much lower voltage to cause electrolysis.

If you can get the voltage down low enough, this would potentially explain Tesla's generator he spoke of that only needed a battery to start, and could then run continuously.

He may have even found another way to harness power from water, given his arguments with Edison that atomic power was not stored in the atom itself, but in the electrical bonds of the atom.

So, if I'm right, and he's 'shattering' water with low voltage high frequency energy, he may have even found a way to harness the energy released when those bonds parted, without even bothering to burn the hydrogen and oxygen.

A power source like that would be almost unlimited, and virtually free. A power source like that could certainly make his visions of a series of power plants located along a country's coast that would scan and down any incoming aircraft.

Notice he said 'coast'. If my theory is correct, that means unlimited water, and therefore, unlimited amounts of power. Enough power, even, to fire a pulse weapon that could bring down aircraft 250 miles away.

Tesla was amazing, and there are a lot of mysteries around his discoveries and missing papers that bear closer examination. So please, yes, continue to support and bring attention to this incredible genius.

Just don't perpetuate misunderstandings about his work.

If you want to talk further about Tesla, or my crackpot theories, we should move it over to the Tesla thread, and end our hijacking of this thread. :hijacked:
