Palin says Marijuana a minimal problem

Yeah, Sarah Palin gets peeps blood moving.

First, on topic: not being in favor of legalization and also not wanting LEO to use resources to enforce that particular law on private property are not mutually exclusive. Hypocritical, yeah kinda, but so what? She's a politician and this is a pretty smart and reasonable way to come at this issue from the right.

Moreover:

Sarah Palin is like some kind of supper revealing political drop-tester. If you are overly acidic(right wing), she'll turn you a nice fire engine red. Too basic (Euro-style social dem) then you go cobalt blue.

I can tell 90% of people's views on all issues just based on a 5-minute conversation about everybody's fav hockey mom.

LOL

Sarah Palin is a mirror above all else.

I guess you can be the one to start the "I hate Obama thread." :) I'm sorry, but I cannot stoop to your level with an retailation of insults.

My boss stole because he was greedy, corrupt and knew he wouldn't get caught. His restaurant closed and the whole staff, including myself, was laid off in February 2009.

And yes I did rail against Bush, I can do that, just like you can rail against Obama. No weapons of mass destruction were ever found in Iraq because none even existed in the first place. He cut taxes, but continued to spend money as if he didn't cut taxes at all. He did bail out Bear Sterns and AIG. And he never caught bin Ladin when he promised he would. And he signed into law the PATRIOT act.

But I guess if it makes you feel better, I will rail against Obama as well. *ahem* He hasn't closed Guantamino Bay. He renewed loans for GM and Chrysler. And he still hasn't withdraw tropps from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Back to Palin and her pot statement, the original topic of this thread, if you don't mind. What is worse is that she used a term of slang that still conjures up the stereotype about cannabis and the lazy stoner.

MMJ activists that are climbing an uphill battle to lobby lawmakers and change the perception about MMJ so that patients can have safe access to their medicine. Most lawmakers are so ignorant about MMJ, they think its just an excuse for people that want to get high when its not. In addition, there are activists that are lobbying states to defy the Controlled Substances Act so that farmers and growers can start producing hemp for industrial purposes. That just shows her ignorance about the subject of cannabis. It's not just about someone who wants to smoke pot.
I missed the background on the restaurant...

I only have two questions

what kind of food was it?

what was your job at the restaurant?

It was a franchise of a regional fast food company. The owner had two locations. I worked at one as a part time crew member making sandwhiches and such. His first location, that I did not work at, shut down around the last quarter of 2008, I cannot remember the exact month.

And with keeping this thread related to cannabis, half of the staff smoked, including some of his children that worked occasionally worked there.

The electoral system really is the least of our concerns. Oligarchy is what we live in rather than a constitutional republic. Hopefully people will continue to wake up and see this.

Yeah, the electoral system is only a problem if their guy loses because of it. If he wins because of it its the best thing since "taxing the rich".

this whole thread is crazy. The United States of America HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH The Untied States Government.

We have a bunch of retards running the country the way they want to, not the way the american public wants it done.

Your vote doesnt mean shit...electoral votes baby...

I'm sure your president has a "give away" program for people like you so you can get a free TV.

I can take or leave palin. But at least she has managed something in her life. obama, not so much.

50 yrs old, really! wow, that first assumption of her not having a tv b/c she cant afford it and the remark "giveway"......"people like you" make you sound ALL of 23.

palin didnt graduate Harvard Law School did she? i know Harvard is just above community college but its Harvard.

i probably should have kept my :2cents: in my pocket.

Looks like everyone has missed why She is saying this..

Do you want to know?????

It's because we have the support of the middle class Woman in the polls on legalizing now.

That was the one thing that Richard Lee was unsure of and was why he went with the program he did for Tax2010.

The Tide has turned with Middle Class Woman voters as far as I can tell.

That is why Sara Palin is supporting a moderate lean towards it being a "small problem." she is not supporting legalization not even close. She is trying to reflect the sector of the voter base that identifies with her.

Oh she is still running for Vice President friends.. Still campaigning.

And making a good living at it too.

What were his grades? Oh its a secret, I forgot. Ever see that brilliant poem he wrote? Something about apes eating banannas and knashing or some shit.

And I know Governor of a State is less than Community Organizer, but - well, dipshit can't manage his way through a doorway (because its a window). But oh well. Palin gets my vote over a 75 IQ marxist any day of the week.

I think part of what you guys are missing is the context in wich this interview was given. It was a debate between Mr Ron Paul and herself. Judge Napolitano a very well respected libertarian as the host of the show called freedom watch on fbn. He is very sharp and had she stepped on the constitution on his show he would have straightened her out quickly. He has repeatedly said that its not a Federal issue (cannabis prohibition). I think partly her position was to not upset the moderator (the judge) nor turn away the new libertarian resurgence. She is trying to tie together libertarians with the religious right. Its impossible imo

Yeah - he attended several schools on scholarships paid for by my tax dollar (your tax dollar too if you pay 'em). I have a friend of mexican decent that attended law school at that time also. He got in ahead of any and all white guys & gals with better test scores. They also lowered the bar exam passing grade scale for minorities. My friend is now a judge and we joke about all the more qualified folks who lost the opportunity while this type of nonsense was the order of the day back in the '70's & '80's.

So I'm pretty much about accomplishments and not degrees. I have both. I just don't see any accomplishments coming out of the white house these days. Nor did I see much going in for this administration. If you think that makes me a hater then you need to grow up.

I for one am tired of any criticism of obama or his ideals being labeled racist or hateful. That is such an old, tired and ignorant argument.

I Don't understand that comment...

Everyone attributes "I can see russia from my house" to Sarah Palin when she really said

"GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

GIBSON: What insight does that give you into what they're doing in Georgia?

PALIN: Well, I'm giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia. We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it's in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along. "

Tina Fey (comedian and pundit) was the one responsible for seeing Russia -
As Poehler's Clinton bragged about her foreign policy experience, Fey's Alaskan governor exclaimed: "I can see Russia from my house!"
( from http://politicalhumor.about.com/b/2008/09/14/tina-fey-skewers-sarah-palin-on-saturday-night-live.htm)

I've never been to Alaska, so I don't know who can see what, but SP definitely did not say "I can see Russia from my house".
I agree with Jack the Grower: Middle class working moms are going to be the ones that drive the final nail in the coffin of prohibition. The next few years of politickin' should be interesting to watch.

she is any Libertarian or Republican dream girl...sexy ass can be, love her accent which is excessively sexy and she has conservative values yet is willing to meet on middle ground concerning issues regarding personal liberties...if she runs for President she has my vote, hell a female president might get shit done, don't fuck with her when she's on her period! lol

The next president will be a female. The Kenyan poser won't be seeking a second term, and might not even make it through this one.

That said, there will probably be two to choose from. I think my choice is obvious from the posts above, but you choose :)

And now, the attachements

your assuming way too much, i didnt lable you a hater nor did i inject that your criticism of obama was racist. you brought that to the table.

i agree that there are not any accomplishments comming out of the WH, just the usual. the American Citizens suffer while washington remains in a bubble.

i may have been paying taxes when obama was in school but i might have been laid up in the hospital with a Cervical Spinal Cord injury. either way i pay more than enough taxes just like you.

enough polotics......back to Cannabis.

MPP makes the obvious point:

“Governor Palin is one of many millions of Americans who have used marijuana and gone on to live productive, wildly successful lives,” said Rob Kampia, executive director of the Marijuana Policy Project in Washington, D.C. “That she used marijuana is no big deal, but what is a big deal is that she thinks that the 100 million Americans who have used marijuana, including herself, belong in jail. That wouldn’t be good for her kids.”

A friend of mine knew of a student that sold his own TV and anything else he owed worth anything so he could pay his tuition. I hardly watched mine, which was only a 15 inch TV. And when I actually did turn the blasted thing on, it was always the Weather Channel. So I gave it to him. People have helped me, so I was just trying to pay it forward.
