darrmann, did you defoliate your plant? Did you lower temps to get the color, or did it just naturally express itself?

That isnt blackberry. It may be a cross of Black Russian but its not a true BlackBerry cut.

An thal, the Blackberry hybrids that are still out there are purple from the get go. Even the crystals on my black russians are purple.

Here's the one I have. This is apparently a different cut from Cali. Schwagg's looks chunkier, and I believe it's what some folks up here call the PNW Blackberry. Your's looks chunky Mr. Schwagg, bummer about the nanners.

The Blackberry this thread is about is Jock Horror x Black Domino. Blackberry is a fruit so technically speaking your Blackberry cut is no more blackberry than Jock x BD. Don't be so obsessive with names :)

You think nobody is allowed to call his blackberry-smelling cross "Blackberry" just because someone somewhere has already named his cut "blackberry"? I agree that if they called their strain "Chemdog" (or names like "Jock Horror" as Nirvana does) it is a sort of brand theft, but "blackberry" is so generic. They most probably were aimed at the "Blueberry" brand (with their cross resembling the famous DJ line in some ways), but called it "Blackberry". You have to be really carefull to think of an original name with all those existing garage "strain" names :)

When the Blackberry clone hit Overgrow.com back in the day it was a HUGE deal. It wasnt some garage strain name. Its every bit as famous as Chemdog is now. Hell when the black russian f1 & f2s hit the market they were selling for 2 to 3 times what any of the chem crosses are selling for now. Its been in hightimes, its been talked about and drooled over for over 10 years now.

So yes Blackberry is an elite that shouldnt have its name stolen just to sell seeds.

Sativa Seedbank's description says it's a cross of Black Domina and their own "Raspberry Cough", whatever that is. Will be popping 10 of these this week and will post up some pics.

Jock Horror is decent smoke. I did get a purple Jock pheno once, and most of the plants had a cherry flavor.

Black Domino, not domina.

what sucks is there is basically no info on it. from seattle to holland, that's about it.

Yes, my mistake, Jock x Black Domino was another cross they called BlackJack.
Now anybody know what Black Domino and Raspebrry Cough are? Clones of Black Domina and Strawberry Cough?

If Jock Horror is in it, that explains the nanners IMO. Worst pack of beans I ever bought.

Edit: I did get 1 nice plant though that didnt herm.

Well, it is Black Domina. Nirvana's style is to change the name to avoid any tradename hassles. From Cannabible 2 page 25-

"Black Domina...This superpotent indica is an offering from Sensi Seeds. A California outdoor version of Black Domina was featured in the first volume of The Cannabible. Here we have 2 different indoor versions, one grown in soil and one grown hydroponically. All had the same noticeable greasy hash oil flavor, but the outdoor was the smoothest and most enjoyable smoke. This stuff is extremely strong, even narcotic- the kind of herb that can immediately end your day."

I would guess that Raspberry Cough is the name they tagged one of their strains, or it's a knockoff of Strawberry Cough.

yep, they rip off names and sell crap to people....been the same MO for the past 10 years

Have you grown any Nirvana seeds to claim they are crap? Sure, they "rip off" names and their plants are not the same as the "original" names, but can't agree that they sell crap. I'm so happy with some of the "crap" they sell :) And I've seen and smoked inferior weed from much higher priced seeds, no offence to any particular breeder. Most of the flame against Nirvana come from newbies (as it is their first choice because of price) who make 8 males out of a 10-pack and blame Nirvana.

I agree. In fact, I would rather grow their Bubblegum than Serious's. I have grown both and I like the Bubblicous more than Serious Bubblegum. I like GrowDoc's Bubbledust more than Serious's BG too. Here is a female I grew in 2008

Swiss Miss was a great outdoor strain for me, that did what it was supposed to do, finish fast and mold resistant just like the description said. I also grew it inside.

Maroc X Afghan was nice too but it molded, but that isnt Nirvana's fault, its my location. No pics of this one, sorry

Now Jock Horror, I wasnt happy with at all. I got a lot of hermie ladyboy plants. But I really cant complain because I did get 1 true female that yielded almost a quarter pound, I only payed $25 or so for the pack so I got my cash back. Couple shots of that 1 nice female

Now I am growing Papaya at the moment. Just starting to flower so I cant report on that. Havent took any photos of it yet either.
