How to Garden By The Moon

Just ate a turnip for supper tonight. I used the Anastasia method described in the Ringing Cedars books (and also the moon cycles). Put the seed under your tongue for 9 minutes before planting (did the same with a durban poison seed). It's supposed to sync the plant with your dna to give you what you need for optimal health. Can't hurt. I'm having the best garden I've ever had! Flippin' potato plants are already 2' tall and have hilled them twice.

I never read ^that book.

My theory is based on farming

THE LATEST HAPPENINGS IN LOLA LAND: had to have a rabbit funeral here.

Got my first ripe tomatos this week.

Started some bass guitar lessons on my $49 new purple bass guitar with glitter in the paint job. lol. Prince would be jealous of this guitar if he played bass.

Recently taught myself to read music, so learning to play all these guitars is really easy.

I am rocking out on my Fender Squier stratocaster, learning lead, so bass guitar was fun to learn too.

I was sorta surpised how nice my made in China bargain bass turned out. Maple neck, rosewood fret board, ash body, and horrible purple glitter paint job... heeeheehee

did i mention it has roses on the pickguard and came with stickers of butterflys and lady bugs... heehee

well it sounds really good anyway, but I did not know I needed a bass amp to play it on. durn. the things you learn. back to the pawn shop in search of a bass amp.

My yard rabbit had 3 babies before she died, and i am taming them with rabbit chow.

not much else going on. I am still not growing a darn thing this summer, and I am not missing fighting the hot temps and stuff. No wading in the weeds and getting bitten this year either. first summer I had off in ages with no grow.

hope my stash keeps holding out :) keep your fingers crossed. lol

Glad to know I'm not the only one here who's read some of the Anastasia books. I gave my latest seeds a saliva soak under my toungue, too - they seemed to like it, and popped fast. Between using the moon cycles and doing that and just generally loving my plants, Woo hoo!!!

Hey Lola,

Was planing a grow for August and strolled over to the Moon Garden group to look for planting days in August and there was no table. :(

What book do you get those tables from and where can I order it? I have used those tables for 2 cycles now and the results have been stellar.

Thanks
T

Eh I can see the potential science behind moon gardening but this just seems intuitively like a bad idea. The human mouth has a lot of germs and I feel like this is asking for trouble, especially with thicker seed hulls. Also, I can think of no logical/scientific reason for how this could possibly be beneficial (perhaps it's a kin to hygiene theory in regards to humans and allergies lol?) Just wondering if you could provide us with Anastasia's line of reasoning here.

The practice of holding seeds in one's month is the idea of imbuing a person's chi or one's energy into the seeds to help them to grow well. It is an ancient nature practice that through time has proved to be benign to most folks, some few have shown a knack of growing good plants that way. Now weather it is in a person's saliva or not, or indeed in one's own energy transferred into a seed if it grows well I don't care, I'll take it.

Possibly, the saliva certainly couldn't hurt it.:)

Oh my! Spitting on seeds whilst I was gone huh? lol

Just popped 5 True Blueberry beans, 4 are up and at em, one aint up yet, but looks hopeful.

I hope I have more luck with them than I did the Blueberry plants! Only one survived and came up well and it is a durn boy. shoot.

I am particulary thirlled to have a good Ice Cool from Sweet Seeds. I only had one bean left, and luckily she is the best tangerine pheno of all the ones i was given. Yippie Yippie Yippie

Currently working up some of Benji's Pine Tar Kush beans. I read the original genes are from Tom Hill I think.

Warning note: I popped a whole bunch of bubbliciuos beans from Nirvana. Only one came up. I think these beans are DUDS... be careful getting them.

Took the whole summer off to play.

anyways, if anyone still has a subscription to this old thread, holler at me sometime :D
