1st Time Hydro Grow

So this is the first attempt at hydro, my other plant in soil is just now starting to show buds. So I figured I better get on the ball and get these babies started to keep up with my smoking demands. I started out by buying a plastic storage tub from wal-mart as well as 2 air-curtains that are criss-crossed on the bottom of the tub for maximum bubblige . I would have just bought an air-stone but apparently my wal-mart is a bunch of bitches. Anyways, after that I scurried over to home-depot and picked up a few huge ass 45wt CFL bulbs as well as a dual socket and headed back home to begin construction. I pre-lined my cab so I wouldn't have to worry about it when I got my supplies so pretty much just cut the holes, connected the hoses, made a light trap out of a 1' piece of toilet paper roll and duct tape and Voila! One thing that was a bitch though was the net pots, NO WHERE in the vacinity of ANYTHING has hydroponic planter pots, net pots, aquatic planter pots, whatever these people wanted to call them, no one had ANY! So.. I took the next best thing, which was a plastic dixie cup and made my fucking own. If I owned a soldering iron it would have saved m e a HELL of a lot of time but I dont. I own razorblades, because I'm hardcore like that! what son WHAT! ...ok really, I found them in a drawer, I have no idea who's they are but whatever. .

Oh! Another thing everyone seemed to not have was any real decent media, so I was forced to get Perlite, I figure it had to be better the gravel.

It's been a week and a half and they've grown quite beautifully. The one on the left did actually die, which was expected. I replaced it with another seedling I had coming along in a jiffy cube. I topped the one on the right 2 days ago and is already growing 2 more shoots. I also added 4 more CFL's to the mix to beef up the lighting just a tad. I just got off work so I'll have to get the pictures in the morning. For the first half of the week they were just getting plain ole water oxyginated by 2 criss-crossing air-curtains on the bottom of my rubbermaid tub. I ordered FloraNova from General Hydroponics and it came in so I have used that for the past week, every 2 days half strength at first. My wife says I've become obsessed and I have to agree, I could happily sit there all day and just stare and talk to them. haha I realize that sounds crazy, but I've really become attached to my new found hobby.

I'm sort of at a loss right now, because I want to upload pictures to try and get more advice but my wife is extremely concerned about the LEO's tracking our IP and busting us for my miniscule 2 plants. Which sounds ridiculous but then again, some of news around our area lately does put one on edge. Which is really sad... why should we have to fear for our freedom because of a plant? in my eyes this is one of the most tragic absurdities of this era, but very real none the less.

i use a programme to change my IP and mask it' making it that little bit harder for they bastards to trace me ...it aint fool proof but it helps no doubt .. your bubbler system looks good for a first attempt ... good luck subject2murder scary name man

yea I agree, it's certainly a waste of energy to live in fear all the time... if they really want to waste the resources to trace down every single grower, even for just a couple of plants there's really more then one way to track us. So I guess it really all boils down to standing up for what we believe in. This is something that I WHOLE HEARTEDLY believe in down to my core. I believe that in time, all things will change. And yes S2M is a really aggressive SN, it all has to do with my beliefs on all the drug corps. I would rather break the law and know that my mental state is stable then live by all the rules and take medications that make me into a mindless drone. All I can say is FUCK THAT.

and thanks for the compliment on my bubbler, it has proven rather exceptional. within a day the two more shoots have grown from less then a 1/4'' to over 1" in length, that's nearly 3 times as fast as my soil grow. the added light has definitely proven beneficial.

so ive decided to keep going with this jou rnal since I like to finish things I start. Here's an update with whats been going on. I'm on week 3 and the older plant has really gained some foliage and lookin mighty pretty. the younger plant too has begun to sprout out and take its own beautiful shape. I'm really enjoying watching these 2 grow. Its been over night that I've been noticing changes and it's fascinating.

so I'm into week 4, and 3rd week at 12/12. I let them veg for little over a week before I started the flowering cycle. I've also changed around the lighting setup, I have 2 42wt CFL on each side, as well as a huge 68wt Hanging in the middle. so thats a total 236wts, that's just my mounted lighting, that's not counting the supplemental lights I have around my box. I've been keeping the leaves trimmed so to maximize lighting exposure on the stemss and it seems like the plant itself doesn't really mind. I'm still really new to this, so everything I try is in trial and error. So any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. suggestions on what I could do with my CURRENT setup, I know I could use a huge HPS light, I could also use a million dollars, but that doesn't help out IN THIS SITUATION. so please, if anyone has anything valid to say, I'm all ears, and very attentive
