quite a few of the USA team play in the English premiership, they have some good players and are no Mugs. before the game i said a draw was possible, expected England to Win but USA held up well & didnt play bad to be fair whereas England looked tierd and weak & are still getting aclimatised imo. no excuses England should of Won, thats what you get when you put inexperienced international keepers in goal! 10 caps aint exactly experienced!

10 caps or no caps. its happend to the best goal keepers in the world..was it not that long ago David James had a few crazy moments,,then what about (blackburn goalkeeper, forgot his name), he had a few howlers aswell,,,,,,,,

i say stick with the goalkeeper thay have now (hes the best of a bad bunch)...thay have to get right behind him & support him + what about all the other so called stars that done fuck all , will thay get dropped? no...........i still think its strange/mad how shit England can be

bro that aint just my opinion,,i got a few English friends that rage at the fact England cant do anything when i comes to theses big cups, yet when it comes to club Football thay have the some of the biggest/richest/most powerful clubs in the world that win everything,,and English players that are world class playing for these clubs, yet when all these player from these top clubs come together thay cant do shit = :dunno::wallbash::mad:.....could it be because most of the England stars dont aply there traid in Italy, spain, france, holland.germany ect ect ect = thay cant play continental football:dunno:...

as for the USA yeh thay where lucky (its Football) and no thay aint going to be world champs,,but thay did have a fare few chances...England goalkeeper made a cracking save at his near post, but at the end of the day the goalkeepes mistake should not count for shit as England (on Paper) should of hammerd the USA..

My opinion is that the US has increased it's spending for better defensive players who are from the US and do not have to leave to go play for their home countries elsewhere.

You can't take away from the US team that they DID exhibit a good defense.

As for England....no doubt Green made a very big error which caused the tie, but can he really be blamed any more than Rooney when Rooney missed an excellent opportunity to score?

Soccer has not been in the US (professionally) long enough to be a major contendor in the past....but would appear the footie spirit is catching on more and with that...the talent increases over time....as we see now....albeit from a defensive standpoint.

Highlander Robgreen aint even in the top 100 best Goalkeepers in the world, he aint even in the Top 10,000 imvho bro lol! But i agree even the best make mistakes!
Ive never rated James either tbh, but at least when hes on form he can cut it !
lol i agree with ya though man! Paul robinson is shite aswell. poor england aint got a good goalie ! lol
I still want England to win the WC though bro! if they pick their socks up you never know, they have the players!! like i said i still think Climate has alot to do with it, they looked fucked by 70mins. Give em a week or two to get used to it and aclimitised & then we'll see if they can cut it?! i think so! Altitude & attitude

Anyone watching Germany - Australia? Germany are leading 2-0 at half time and are playing a great game. Klose's goal was audacious! Poor Aussies, they have some good players but unfortunately starting out in the World Cup against Germany is not the easiest thing...
I have no favorite team in this game but slightly favor Australia (I live next door to them), however they're going to have to fight hard, even to end in a draw.

Yeah playing at 10 vs 11 sure didn't help during the second half... the Germans pretty much did what they wanted from the moment they scored that 3rd goal. It would have been good for Australia's morale to at least score one goal, but that's easier said than done.

Hell yeah I'm watching every game I can..
Soccer was the primary sport in my high school.I'm in the northeast.Down south and out west though its football.I was amazed when I was transfered down south and high school football games had 12,000 people at them..lol.

Pretty much my opinion too, they got into soccer later than other countries, but I think they will become more and more dangerous as years pass. It seems this sport is becoming popular over there, which will motivate youngsters to play it on a serious level. In a decade things will be different.
In general, I have found that many of the former weak/medium level teams are going up, which is a very good thing.
Can't wait for Netherlands - Denmark!

Australia got blitzkrieged ouch....I think the odds for Germany just changed. Easily the most impressive team so far.

Tomorrow sees Holland play and Italy play though, either could put on a show/demolition.. :)

Fully agree with you and your friends. England has always fallen apart in the cups. To much pressure to win another? Very possible.. They always seem so hyped?
Maybe England has to many stars for even the best astrologer to align?

Most of the US players have or still play in competitive leagues around the world. For the most part they have to if the want to be professional players.
I think this is why you see an increased skill level.

Unfortunately the US spirt dies off next month when the general public goes right back to none televised games and soccer programs.

Great point about Rooney.. although he played as a mid fielder? Hard to be a striker when not in striking position. Get in the BOX Rooney.. thats what you do!!!!

Agree.. the goalie situation.. slim to none on the England squad this WC.
Hard to have good British keepers with players like Howard (The US Goalie) currently leading the English Preimer League.
Add that to my previous comment of American players gaining skills else where.

Disagree on the climate.. its the southern hemisphere.. its winter there? Warmer days for the brits for sure, but really cool nights and evenings.
They should be able to handle 50-60 degrees, I think their spirits were broken..

What an experiance, what a vibe. What colour and happiness/craziness.

The Vuvuzela is a pain.

Well done to the winning teams.

just a quick note: the actual name of the game is Football, not soccer... :joint:

fuck germany and their hands within their area and fuck that mexican referee for not calling the corresponding lawful penalty kick.

Green is a fool, 100% his error; he was sideways and he should have attacked the ball with his chest, frontally. classic rookie mistake.

I heard North Korea will surprise, anyone else heard this?

poor Danish dude with the auto-goal... didn't think much of Netherlands' team...

next game is up in a couple of minutes...

madness!!!

Germany is for real.. If they continue to strike the ball on target like todays showing.. they will give any team a run for the cup!!

Let us wait for other teams (Brazil,Spain,Italy). We should not disregard also Argentina,France,England,Netherland. After one game we cant say to much, but i agree Germans did the best impression so far.

I heard North Korea will surprise, anyone else heard this?

I heard that Kim Jong -il had said that if they don't win a cup he will kill them ;)
