If you're comparing miles per gallon in a car vs. a motorhome they won't compare very well but it does tell you something. If you're looking for the best mpg don't buy a motorhome.
g/kWh is a good measurement, but again most people assume around 90 days give or take a couple weeks. Now those weeks may add up to something non-trivial. But, if you're looking at someone's grow and their gpw you can account for them.

G/W or G/KW is a great tool for comparing grows that are all using the same strain also. Or if you are running the same strain in the same enviroment multiple times. It allows for comparison and shows progress or loss in yield.

Your post didnt respond well to mine .Point is grams per watt is bs .for cash cropping with the right strain grown multiple times is a diffrent factor(cuz your counting cash).Another point if you can get 1 per watt you good enough not to have to compare grows you got it dialed in already.The ? was does 1 gram awatt= maximum yeild .The answer is no, bottom line .yes a gram a watt is above average but if the smoke sucks whats the point?In my opinion.25 grams a watt of killer is worth alot more than 1 gram per watt of swag.So I'll ask 1 ?
If shithead has 3 fattys and takes all 3 to get high ,and bonehead has 1 fatty that no one wants to smoke anymore cuz there heads spinning .who wins?gram per watt or .25 grams a watt

If you are constantly changing strain/enviroment then yes, grams per watt is pointless.
Saying that someone is good enough to not have to compare grows is rediculous. A grower should always strive for the most bud, at the highest quality from their light source. Otherwise it is just wasting time and effort.

I also realize that quality often trumps quantity but if its a solid grower, then comparing the quantity of bud that they get from every grow would be a great thing to do as quality would always stay similar. Strive for the most you can get at the highest quality possible is what I go by

Not trying to argue here, I just know that gram per watt can be a VERY valuable tool to almost all growers. It's true you do not NEED it but its beneficial for sure!

relatively, expect maximum yeilds to be at 2g per 1watt.
