So, sent a package, overnight, double vacume sealed, double boxed. When it arrives, the inner box tape has been cut open and not retaped, the outer box is neatly taped in place and the goods are all missing. Is this a case of an employee stealing it? The cops wouldn't send through and empty box would they? Thanks everyone....

sounds sketch... you said you sent it, do you know for FACT that it was actually missing.. just sayin... peace

No they would have done a controlled delivery most likely, so my guess would be yep, an employee stole it (unless the empty box delivery was the controlled delivery.) Your recipient should probably worry, just to be on the safe side.

And use usps next time..

Feds are all over FedEx and UPS...they have been for years.

I wouldn't write it up as simply employee theft...they build cases very slowly so they can ruin you.

it just makes no sense if they wanted to 'build a case' to take the contents and risk sending everyone involved underground, right? it seems like they would let it go through and watch if that was their plan? right?

this is a case of employe theft
no the cops would not send an emty box thru -- they would confinscate it and depending on the amount an contents they may come after the shipper... or take a small protion and send it thru to catch the recipents...
never use ups never send over night too many scans on it means too many hands touch it.
use dhl losest paid people and send 2 day if you double box ALWAYS use a hard plastic box like a baseball / basketball display box easy to find you can glue-m shut with supper glue and the prob cannot punchure it, always wear two pair of plastic gloves and dont I repert dont go where they have cams when you drop it off like at the fedex office...

Sending overnight is more risky as well. These are typically sent via air and are routinely scanned/x rayed. In addition you should read the mailing thread here on ICMAG, a lot of good info.

USPS, priority is your best bet.

i agree -USPS priority is the best

i have heard since UPS is a private company they can search anything without a warrant
on the other hand the postal service is so understaffed i don't think they are searching anything - i have also heard the post office puts all their packages in a group and then contracts UPS and others to ship it - UPS can not and will not disturb the USPS order

I have heard of people who have shipped packages for years with USPS and never had a problem - Priority that is

but yeah sounds like an employee stole the goods - again that would not happen with USPS

If you smear a layer of vaseline between layers of plastic (vacuum bags or saran wrap) it creates a petroleum jelly odor barrier. I'm sure that an employee smelled the package and promptly ripped it open, it won't smell with the vaseline layer.

Ya'll should look up Tightvac jars.

they got em at FreshHeadies. Put in the weed, and it seals the tops so nothing smells. use over and over.

AND the US Post Office can't open Priority Mail to look inside, it is illegal to do so, something about tobacco shippers raising a stink a long time ago.

so US Postal Priority service is peek free!

Also did OP get his own package, or is the recipient just saying it was empty.? That is an old trick.

They won't always do a controlled delivery, i know here in GA, i knew someone that got busted... hes in prison now, they let his shipments add up then they busted him, because here in GA... 10 lb's is trafficking, they let them come until he reached 10 then they gotem. but in this case, i think it was just theft.

what? they still leak air, there in no way better then vaccume bags,
im sure that employee knows what bud looks like inside the xray machine...

highly highly highly doubt that.

I have sent and received many packages thru USPS and never had a problem. I use priority which costs about 5 bucks and gets it there in 2-3 days max. I have gotten many that were not sealed perfectly but no trouble.

Some time ago I almost got ripped off by a mail order scam that had an address very close to what the legit one has...I sent them almost 600 bucks and when the next day I read on the scam watch site that they were thieves, I had the bank cancel the money order ( thank God I never send cash except to Mandala )..and wrote the an email that said: " If you try and cash that MO, I will press charges and notify the RCMP...try me".

The bank finally gave my money back and I thought it was over. But a few weeks later I received an envelope from Canada in the mail, regular letter size, torn up and funky, very suspicious looking, and it had a very obvious bunch of seeds in it!! It was an attempt to make me get in trouble...for revenge. The seeds of course never popped, all had been ruined in advance, and I swore if I ever went to Canada I would track down those MF'ers and do some damage...their address is well known.

Remember, there are people out there that can and will fuck you to get even, no matter if they are scum or not.

I tip my mailman generously every year...and in this neck of the woods hardly anybody ever tipes the mailmen...almost unheard of...but I have never had him question anything he delivers.

I was growing for 2 patients in So Cal last year. I am in Nth Cal. I did not want to drive the 400+ miles to deliver the meds. I vacuumed sealed the bud, left it in my car and went into the main UPS office and asked for an overnight box. I went back to my car, wrapped the 8oz in fabric and put it in the box. Sealed it and brought it in to ship. I filled out the shipping info; the sticker prints and I pay. I watch my package go onto a cart with lots of other packages. The package arrived looking perfect with only the fabric.
Clearly, someone in UPS opened it, took a new UPS box of the same type, had access to re-print the label, and sent the box on its way.

A few days later, I had a friend go in rather then me. We had the same 8 oz vacuum-sealed, wrapped in a perfectly folded quilt. She carried in the loaded quilt, went to the counter and asked for a box, packed the box in front of the UPS guy so he saw a quilt going in the box, filled out the shipping information to a different address, paid and watched the box go onto the cart. Same thing happened, the fully sealed box arrived with just the quilt. They clearly reprinted the label and used a new box.
This has to be an inside UPS job with more then one employee involved. Someone must either x-ray all the boxes or pull anything that looks like bud or they have a "profile" of what a bud shipper does. Either way, that was 9 months ago. I would like to go to the high up supervisors of UPS and complain since I don't think I could get into any trouble now. Or I thought of doing the same thing again, putting a GPS tracking device in the middle of the bud, and follow the package. Wouldn't the UPS employee be surprised when some of my friends and I show up at his door!
