hard rain

I think tembelu is trying to get his post count up. Kind of annoying when you click on about 10 completely worthless posts.:moon:

Hi mate......Check this out....http://eprints.qut.edu.au/15949/.....long bloody read and kind of sad in parts.
I was lucky enough to grow both the Hunter valley and MM, I personally think they are the same, as the Wild Hunter came first.
I will have to check out the stuff that Kog has said......it is taking me ages just to check everything on this site...lol

You know mate even if MM was available to the seed banks there is not a lot of countries that would have the grow season for it and like most other old strains it would just be crossed and slowly disappear. I have been to a few MJ sites now and slowly I get more and more discouraged as I see breeders fighting with breeders and growers doing the same thing over a plant we all love to grow.......what happened to the communal happiness that MJ is supposed to bring ??
Hmmmm I must be feeling a bit Melancholy this morning....lol

yeah i get exactly what you mean mate, i think these breeders should always keep a straight line of the original strain available as it seems a lot of decent strains get lost to crossing etc over time. that's what i'd be doing anyway.

but yeah it sucks that so often things like generosity etc are lost around hobbies like this as soon as people see they've a chance to make a huge dollar. ie. some of the strains selling on the net are $250+ for 10 seeds... like that is ever justifiable. but in the end it's the fact that there's so much demand for them that they can and do bump the prices up to something stupid so it's the consumer to blame as much as anyone else.

that said though, there're still many many generous, decent folk out there if you look hard enough :D

Yeah mate I know.....Ive already come across a few already and its good to see. Since coming on the internet side of it I am blown away by some of the prices charged for seed, I can understand higher prices for landrace strains because people have gone out after them and I know how difficult finding them can be, so my hat is off to them:tiphat: I like the idea of mixed seed packets that way people can see what suits their needs the best for their conditions and they can be let go at a cheap price.

Hiya mate yep been feeling that for about 8 years not long after i joined the on line community in fact.

I hear the ward preservation often used yet i don't see pure lines a valuable i see many people putting every one but there own patch of dirt down yet before i joined the on line community i always thort we all were a part of a larger picture all equals and the only thing that controlled the quality of the smoke was genetics.

I also think a lot just don't understand how much Australia has played a roll in the cannabis Sean and just how many grow and smoke here and how many quality genetics were grown here and are still grown here that did not come from seed banks.

Your not alone in them feelings mate.

I love the mixed seed packs and have one down now and another on the way... problem i have found with mine is, they come in one pack all mixed up so trying to identify what they are exactly is a major problem, because the majority should be better than anything you can buy here i'm just going to seed them up so i don't have to buy anymore.
I see you have the Mandala mix going Darwin, thats what i have on the way, have currently got ceres mix down.. ordered the Mandala mix from Boutique and have requested original haze x skunk #1 by sam the skunkman as freebies because thats what some on this site say is really good.. what freebies did you get with yours, if you ordered from the boutique?

yeah that's it, i agree mate. just sucks i'd love to be able to get my hands on everything and anything but simply can't justify 250 on 10 seeds... just insane. when i buy a money tree lol i'll go for it!

yeah that's it i think we're definitely looked over and have a lot more to offer than most realise!

hey buddy, the mandala safari mix were actually the freebies i got with SSSDH x G13 i believe. that and power kush i got with blueberry by dutch passion.

i'm the same, nfi what's what but worse than that i can't find anywhere on the net that actually states what strains were used in the mix in the first place! grrr haha but oh well. there're other mixes on the net though, seedbou has them i believe, where you get one seed of a whole heap of diff big strains like white rhino, white widow, ak47 etc in one pack of 5 but they colour code the seeds so you can tell them apart which is pretty helpful.

hope you have luck with your mixes mate :D i'm sure they won't disappoint even if you can't end up discerning what's what.

Honestly mate it doesnt really matter what is in the pack...If you find a couple of nice females/males that suit you and get you high like you want then work with them. In the old days nothing really had a fancy name except Thai/Indo/Mex/Nep and a few others...I have found when I give someone a smoke to try I always make sure it is a mixed bag that way nobody ever gets tired of smoking it and it works every time.

Quote from old mate Kog:

"I've tried a lot of different strains over the years. Originally sativas but for the past decade it's been indicas: great white shark, californian orange bud, white widow, mr nice shit and recently chronic. I get the seeds in from Holland. Cheers, Kog"

Seems like the Old Mother Sativa was too much hard work.

hey benji, sorry i never realised you could do it so easily, thanks for pointing that out. i always had to manually put the code in if i wanted to do several quotes, fairly deterring anyway much appreciated i'll use it from now on.

haha yeah he's a funny guy bushweed, i spoke to him a few months ago about what strains he was growing and he said he had no idea and that it was just decent bag seed he'd stumbled upon recently. maybe he was just playing with me haha i dunno :D fingers crossed he is or will one day keep at it with the aussie stuff

No need to apologize that's what im here for,,,I merged your above post's as it gets annoying reading through threads that have posts from the same user straight after each other in a row, much easier to have one big post multi quoted...

lol i feel like a tool, as i've done a fair few of those "oh just noticed i need to reply to another one" "oh and another" and end up with 3 or so comments in a row. and yeah saw at the top that they'd been merged, tripped me out for a moment as i was thinking "what the...? i only just learnt how to do that i don't remember doing it back then!?" anyway lol i know now and just unleashed on it again :D cheers mate. hope you're well and the girls are growing green!
