Ok Im officaly back, Im cleaning my grow box right now and putting soil in pots waiting for the seeds to sink in the shot glass. As some of you may know I havnt been around for a year or so. But Im back now, Im starting this grow in my small cab about 3'x2'x3' cant remember the exact measurements. I gonna veg in this cab and might move it to my armwar for flowering but Ill decide that when its close to flower. So as my name implies Ill be using cfl's and some tubes. For genetics right now i have 5 seeds, cant remember which ones are which but I know that 1 is beaster bud, 2 are a purp and 2 are very special cat piss that i grew before. Im hoping for 1 of each but we all know, dont count your females before they sex haha. Ill get some pics up later and more details. Im going to be lst and scrog them. As i have had great results in the past from this, upwards of two onces per plant, under 6 55w cfls, and vegged for no longer than a month.

Heres a old pic that shows the box, the way its setup but Im gonna put my 8-55w cfl light fixture in, if i flower in it.


And heres a pic of week 4 flower of the cat piss I was talking about. This plant was chopped right after this pic and still yeild over 1 1/4oz. and was very strong for only flowering half the time it should have.

So i finished cleaning and going over what Im gonna do for lights and such. I have 3 differnt fixtures and a hood i made but im not sure which Im going to use yet as some of the bigger watt lights are old and should be replaced. So this is what Im thinking, 5 55w'ers, 2 42w'ers, a 27w'er, 2 single 20w tube's, and a dual 20w tube. For a combined total of 466watts, not sure on the total lumens but with a about 5sq ft area it should put me around 6000lumens per sq ft. That is lower than I recomend for best results, but is what i have to work with for now. I did some measuring and in the hood i made i can fit 8 55w'ers and 2 42w'ers and then the tubes for side lighting. I know alot of people hate miracle grow but i have used it in the past for veg and have had good results, never used it for flower tho but ill be ordering bc bloom, boost, and grow soon. Usualy ill wait till I have all my supplies before i start but this was a spur of the moment type deal lol.

I modified the hood, manage to break a 42w'er and stabbed myself with a shrape piece of the bulb. So it will be 5 55w'ers 2700k, 1 42w'er 2700k, 1 27w'er 2700k, 1 27w'er 5600k 2 single 20w purple tubes, 1 dual 20w'er tube 5600k. Im gonna have to change the exhaust setup as its only ment for the tubes. Ill do that when i put the hood in tho, as I will be starting them under the tubes untill they have the first set of real leaves. Oh I cant find my digital camera, Ill get some new pics up when i find it.

For the different wattage bulbs do you have them at different heights, or are they all on the same plane.

The two 27w'ers are about 2in closer. There also on the side with and dual 20w tube fixture, which will be mounted vertically on the wall.

Found my camera but not much is happening yet, the 5 seeds are in small cups with soil. Theyve been in soil for about 20hours after soaking in water for around 24hours, 4 out of 5 sank. But from past experience if they dont sink in the first 24 hours there not going to so they all went into cups.

Also I looked into replacing the lights and it will cost less to switch to a 400w hps, so im gonna build another fixture to hold a 400w hps for the armwaor, and switch all the cfls out with 42w 5600k cfls after this grow and use the cab for a mother/clone/veg room. Im going to take 2 cuts of each plant before they go 12/12 and put them in the armwaor with the tubes to veg. And hopefully get 2 mother plants based on how the plants do in flower.

Me too, well atleast one, wouldnt mind just two. Veg for a month or so and lst and scrog them, for a nice qp plus harvest doesnt sound bad either. As the other two are most likely not gonna grow, I moved the dirt around and they havnt even cracked yet, but i will keep them in there for a full week as I have had seeds take 5-7days to sprout. They seem to be growing fast and should have their first set of 1 leaf leaves tonight/tomarro morning. Thats when ill do i pic update.

Heres basically the setup for now, this is going to be my mother/clone/veg room. The plan is to constantly have 2 clones veg, for 2 months while the last 2 clones are flowering for 2 months. Im going to put my cfl hood in here which you will see in the next group of pics. I will replace all the cfls with 42w 5600k.



This will be my flowering room. Im going to put a 400w HPS with a cool tube in here. Ive had to do alot of work making a better light trap for the passive intake, but its almost done. These are old pics of it but the basic design is still the same. I will flower 2 plants at a time, that have vegged for 2 months so the should fill up the screen I have nicely and hopefull yeild 1/2-1pound every 2 months which should be plenty for me my wife and friends.



Sorry for the old pics, my camera is pissing me off. I put in brand new batteries and it wont turn on and flashes low battery. I would take cell phone pics but have no way of uploading them. The 3 seedlings are about 1 1/2" tall and are on there first set of leaves, nothing spectacular yet. I promise to have new pics this week.

nice! my friend ran my doublegum in a setup similar to yours, all cfl's, and lots of em.. i was surprised, turned out some dank nugs, and a decent yield too!

Ya cfls are very good to a point, that point I believe is around 600w. At 600w of cfl you will get apprx. 40,000lumens where a 400w hps will get 51,000lumens for about the same heat output. Thats why Im going 400w hps in the flowering room, I thought about a 600w hps but I think it will be to much heat. I will be growing white widow or sour diesel next, both should do very well in a lst scrog grow.

The plan is veg the 3 seedlings for 2 months and by then have the flowering room 100% finished and run these plants through as a test run. The only problem I can see as of now is when i had the cfl hood in the small cab before i had the two 6" fans in there and now theres only to 4" pc fans. Im going to cut the intake hole bigger and have bolt fans for exhuast. Also im going to take the side of the hood off that is on the side with the fans to hopefull suck the hot air out of the hood.

The 3 seedlings are starting on their 2 set of leaves. Still in small cups. When they grow out their second set of leaves Im gonna transplant them and start the lst. Also for now Im gonna just use 1 or 2 55w'ers and 1 or 2 27w'ers in my hood and put it in the small cab. Because the ventalation in there is not strong enough for all the lights.
