What's new

GDP 4K 3G FTW NR GH 0-6-9

Grand Daddy Purple 4 1K lights 3 gallon pots Feed to Waste No Runoff using GH 0-6-9.

I use addatives. Floralicious Bloom 1/2 strength, Protekt Silica, Botanicare Cal Mag, Molasses or Floranectar every once in a while.

I give a very diluted feeding every 10 days or so. 3 gallon square pots in catch trays, so a weak watering or 2 seems to work instead of flushing. No runoff.

I'm giving liquid Kool Bloom 4 days at week 2 and 5, then usually Powdered Kool Bloom for a feeding or 2 before 1 week flush, although this time I think I'm going to try Botanicare Hydroplex instead.

9 plants per 1K light. I vegged maybe too long, things are tight, but I've pruned and lollipopped with one last minor prune/clean when I stake and tie in a week.

Things look good, I'm really hoping to get a good yield, so far quality has been great, but I've only been getting a little over 1lb per light. I've grown GDP many times, although these cuttings are from a different source. They look and smell awesome.

I have another 6K room going with cuttings from these plants as well. That room is a little different, but I'm hoping to up my game with the new room.

Thanks very much!

This room has been running for a while now.

My new Hepa filter that I recently added clogged up from the super windy days we've been having. I was wondering why I couldn't keep temps down, then realized the filter wasn't flowing, so I'll fix that in a few hours.
I'll post more progress pics soon.

Just finished pruning. Room needed opening up. I've been fighting a very light case of Powdery Mildew, just sprayed with Zone/Penetrator after pruning.
Lower growth now gets much light, and much better air flow. Things are looking good!

nice one, looking good in there. bet it's becoming a pain to water them eh? what do you do with the run off?

glad i got a front seat :)

I've been running this room for almost 2 years with no runoff.

Every 10 days or so I give a very dilute 1/8 strength PH'd feeding, and then plain water for final flush.

I rebuilt my drip system (You can see it in the pics if you look closely). It worked a charm until it clogged all up from skooge that was growing in the old 1/2" hose I was using, so I was back to hand watering every night for a bit. Without runoff/drainage it was impossible to dial in anyways.

Hand watering isn't too bad, I'm just married to the room, which sometimes needs watering 2 times a day. Plants drink over a gallon a day, 40 pint DH fills up full at least twice a day.

I'm going away for 3 days and I know it will work just fine for that period.

My New 6K Room I built big trays for drainage, and I'm expecting the drip system to work very well with runoff/drainage ability.

In this room, quality has always been good, but yields have been mediocre (just over 1lb per light) but I'm hoping to do 1.5lbs per light this time.

damn i must be blind, didn't see the drippers lol. i hear you on the run off though, without run off the drippers are very hard to dial in. are you making a thread on the new setup?

so true hand watering in coco is like being married to the grow, roflmao. hope they make it 3 days without drooping, should be fine if you give them a good soaking before you go.

good growings

It's not officially "drip", basically open ended 1/4" lines go to each plant. I used emitter stakes or shrubblers, but I removed the caps so they're all just open ended. The shrubblers don't make that cute little shower like in the pics on the box without tap pressure (I'm using a low pressure hydro pump), so now basically the stakes just hold the lines in place. If you enlarge the center pic you can see the risers with bubblers/manifolds.

With this system I can leave, and have a friend simply plug the pump in for a few minutes 1.5 days in, they'll go 3 days no problem.

Some questions...

How long did you veg?

How many times did you top?

How many plants?

What's the total size of the canopy & room?

Sealed room or fresh air?

How long do you flower for (in days, typically)? Sounded like 8 weeks but I couldn't be sure.

Nice looking canopy.

that's the least i'd do, even if i was hand watering such an amount of plants, have the irrigation set up so you can just plug it in to water. very convinient, specially when you have to let someone else water.

I veged maybe 1 month.

Topped once at about 14" high 2 weeks into veg.

9 plants per light for 36 total.

Room is 13'x11', grow patch is 8'x8'.

It's a fresh air room. I have an 8" vortek fan mounted in the attic. In the room, I have a scrubber hanging up high, air is ducted through the scrubber, across 4 lights, back together and up through the ceiling, creating a big negative pressure, which draws cold air from under the house through the central heat/AC duct that I pluuged up and knocked out. I mounted a box with hepa filter installed over the hole in the floor so all air entering is filtered.
This one 8" fan cools both the lights, AND the room with the air drawn in from under the house. Lights ON temps are 75-78, lights OFF temps are 70-72. Dehumidifier keeps humidity under 60% usually around 55% to 50%.

Flowering usually goes 60 days or so.

It's Harvest Day!!!!

I've been super busy with my rooms, sorry for no updates.

Here's some pics.

Lights are on for the last time, chop in the morning. They've had nothing but water for the last 8 days. Today is day 59.

Not sure if the pics show it, but this GDP is the frostiest I've grown. I took most of the fan leaves at day 30, and so the buds could probably be bigger, but they're "stick a fork in it" done.

Yield I expect to be just OK. Quality however is A-Plus

Well, my buddy who was supposed to come and help with chopping/trimming is coming tomorrow, not today, so the girls will go one more day. The PM seems to be in check, and the nugs are really packing weight so it's just fine, nothing but goodness coming from waiting one more day. These will have gone 60 days.

Since I took the fan leaves at 30 days I expected smaller nugs, but one thing is there will be NO LARF/Fluff, so maybe my yield will be good after all.
If I get 1.5lb's per light I'd be in heaven.

^def interested to see how your yield compared with the pulling of fan leaves as opposed to without pulling fans. Good luck and have fun trimming! *sarcasm* haha after first one or two big harvests then everyone says, "oh fuck trimming, its the tedious bullshit!"

Yeah, I hate trimming. I usually have help, but then I'm paying them, and no one ever seems to trim exactly how I want them to, so I always end up trimming the majority of it all.
It's hard to sit across from someone molesting your life's work, while having to pay them as well.
Same reason I don't have partners, I can't completely depend on anyone but myself. It gets tedious when you do it 10-12 times a year too! OH it Hurts So Good!
