I love it when shit like this happens! The police showing what mental midgets they really are.
Growing up in the only semi-liberal hippie friendly large city in the entire state my experience has been different. Cities like Houston and Dallas have a bad rep for abuse and corruption.
My mother who hasn’t smoked pot in years was pulled over in some county west of Dallas on a trip and the officer asked her why her vehicle reeked of marijuana.
Genuinely shocked at this question she said "maybe it's my patchouli oil". With a stern look and serious tone he asked "is it made of marijuana"?
There has been a large community of pot smokers in Austin ever since it was a popular place with hippies in the 60's and 70’s so APD are usually well informed. For the rest of Texas IQ isn’t the problem it's just complete ignorance about this plant that ensures it will remain completely illegal here for a long time.
However, the idea of Texans learning to respect the constitution in a city where rioters killed 53 people and caused $1 billion in property damage after the Rodney King trial is pretty laughable.

The police today announced that the recent "Pot in the Park" bust only cost the Tax payers $100,000 and that the value of the Non-Cannabis plants was being listed at $3 million in order to qualify for more federal aid.

There should be a law...that police CANNOT confiscate any plants unless there is evidence beforehand that the plant is illegal...IE, to bust a grow house, they would have to find evidence....sticks, stems, buds, whatever...to prove MARIJUANA is being grown. These dickheads will walk right on private property or scout by helicopter, and just because it "LOOKS LIKE" weed it gives them the ability to get a warrant....which is unconstitutional, an unreasonable search and seizure and a complete waste of taxpayer money.
