do a search or look a page or two back and you will see many threads just about yield. Get dutchgrowns LUI13 and spice of life adventure mix and look for blockhead.

I think so too.. Thanks harpocrates

But maybe we should go for catagory like Out Door?

I am curious.

I remember reading about Big Bud being a heavy producer.. Is White Rhino considered a heavy outdoor?

excellent thanks for all the great tips so far! I don't really know what characteristics are most important to me, I hope this process helps me find out. I am noticing some strains do well at multiple things, such as yield well and early. Those would certainly go to the top of the wish list. I usually hate it when someone tells me to do a search because they are no help whatsoever, but you johnbobit are different in that you give me some advice on what to search for. thanks for that, since that is my biggest problem is not knowing how to do a proper search.

Lavendar definately isnt a high yielding strain.. Its actually on the low side.

I havent grown it but I have seen alot of grows of "Serious Seeds Chronic" and all the grows I have seen have been outstanding yield.. I mean outstanding.. I am thinking of running some soon.

From a start-to-finish time POV, strains that I've seen decent yield from consistently have been from strains that have indica in them, but not always dom. As I've seen outdoor guerrilla BC lineage that's sativa dom 60:40 stomp 100% indicas on yield with the same vegtime and self-prune nonetheless. I've also personally witnessed a haze x NL5 yield ridiculous amounts at 9 weeks in a flood drain system. light x veg time = yield..patience in veg time

It's the one that grows the biggest!

Genetics are influenced by environment... so a really big plant in one garden might not grow as big in another garden.

The veg time,, how many weeks it is grown before flowering,,, and the amount of light lumens,,, and fertiliser,, dictate the yield.

How long is a piece of string? lol

In order of the tastiest first ,, Mummia,, Jack Herer,, Heavy Duty Fruity... Critical Mass,, Critical, The Doctor,, and Big Bud are all heavy yielding strains... but are often hashy and a bit bland in flavour after the HDF..

Outdoor is a completly different ball game... :D

I can tell you.... Ace Orient Express has an amazing yield.... forget big bud or chronic, ak47 or whatever.... last summer outdoor they yielded more than any other. Over 300gr each of em in 40l soil. Superskunk and shivaskunk high yield phenos planted the same time, which are pretty nice yielders, didn´t even reach 200gr the one most yielded, never had other strain even come close and I´ve tried many. Some other strains i had at the same time didn`t reach even 100gr with the same setup. :dance013: I had a branch of an OE plant that almost yielded the same as Paradise seeds Ice cream (very potent cerebral smoke Ice Cream by the way) :tiphat: Supervigorous as hell aswell and good structure.

I´ve heard she goes well indoors too, but haven`t tried and that the regular seed form is higher yielding than the fem version.

what????

sativa hybrids field way more...sure the floweringtime is longer but the field can be hugh!!!!

i agree i have had my highest yield with hybrids cuz they often branch out like crazy

Yeah, i would say the same. Pure indicas often yields very low.
predominantly indica Hybrids yield much more than pure indica, but i still would say the one most yields are a bit more predominatly sativa leaning than indica leaning, at least outdoors. Pure (specially equatorial) sativas again, yield less than hybrids.

Conclusion: pure sativas and indicas yield less than hybrids.

indoor:

- chronic
- critical mass
- williams wonder
- power plant
- ak47
- c99
- endless sky
- big bud
- nl5xhaze
- hindu kush
- double dutch
- k2
- white russian
...

in general hybrids tend to yield more - open sativa bud structure meets heavy dense indica nugs.

in my opinion very high yielding grows are easier or even just possible to realise with indicas. sog, vertical sog or even rotogrows wouldnt be managable with branching sativas.
if one is growing big bushes or vertical bulb branching is a desirable trait - so sativas can perform very good.
