Yes. Having a hermetically sealed room tends to keep a lot of pests away.

i use floramite, and it works very good for me. i just use it once in veg, right after i find a problem, and that has been good. just had to grab the sprayer last night at 3am cuz i found a fucker in my veg room. i do wonder what it is made of, i definitely put gloves on.

I noticed you mentioned you disliked the circular (slow spinning) movers. Any particular reasons?

Yeah, they're fragile, give a circular light pattern (poor corners!) and make it hard to do maintenance underneath them. They can snag on a cord and start a fire (happened to a buddy) and are expensive. Moving parts in grow rooms are generally a bad idea IMHO. So glad to be rid of it!

Fragile how? Yeah I noticed the big warning that said something like "DO NOT MOVE BY HAND OR WE WILL SEND A HITMAN. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!".

A fire? On the mover motor?

Yep alternating in veg with floramite and forbid and it usually does the trick. After that neem and vegtable based mixes as a preventative once a week thru week 4. Then hopes and prayers the rest of the way. Its funny how certain strains the bastard borg avoid like the plague? Whats in those plants genetics that they hate hmm...

Greencure, thats for PM right?

Hey. Just my experiences..

I used Safers Funigicide + Penetrator to treat a small case of PM - It came back a couple weeks later so I sprayed with Eagle20.

It came back two days later, and I was told Eagle20 makes the plant not have PM but may not KILL it.

So, I sprayed a heavy dose of GreenCure.. most of the plants didn't even notice, and even liked it, some felt it a little bit and I think it was because the mix was a bit hot.

Anyways, I havnt had anything since with HIGH humidity. I believe the Greencure KILLED it and the Eagle20 is doing a great job and keeping it AWAY.

Just my .02

Gotcha, thanks for the tips guys. So far I've managed to grow for years without a burner, and with a good arsenal of chemicals hopefully I won't need to! ;)

I know you don't want to hear it, but man, your patients would probably not appreciate knowing that these chemicals were (unnecessarily & overly) used, and would probably prefer that you stop the use of these carcinogenic chemicals mid-flower. IMO, Floramite/Avid/Eagle isn't some everyday stuff to be taken lightly and loosely spray around as a preventative. It's really for the EMERGENCY or vegetative situations (preferably not there either unless absolutely necessary). You can avoid all unnecessary mess by properly managing your grow (which can include sulfur burning) and exercising a good prevention & maintenance program.

IMO, even talking about the irresponsible use of these products (almost as if you're proud of it) is not good for the forums & industry, because I can definitely see other people following suit as if it's OK. And it's not... it just gives a bad name to the growers, and to the industry.

Avoiding PM should be a combination of good airflow & canopy management, environmental conditions (RH, day temps, night temps... all important), and prevention & maintenance program. In other words, part of a complete program and not just some irresponsible use of a chemical whenever it's convenient.

Just my unwanted :2cents:, as usual.

My patients not only know about the chemicals I use, they buy them from me for their own grows. I find that 2-3 applications of each chemical prevents them with about 98% efficacy.

I have never been a fan of sulfur burners, layering acidic and crappy-tasting sulfur onto buds and leaves alike that doesn't get washed off.

I believe it's better to prevent problems from starting in the first place instead of constantly chasing problem after problem, sacrificing quality and yield every time you have to recover from some disaster. Screw that!

I have 8 oscillating fans, huge airflow, two dehumidifiers and my RH is usually between 44 and 52%. Pretty much perfect conditions. But some strains are prone to PM, others are prone to mites, and living way out in the middle of nowhere, the country is FULL of bugs, spores, pollen etc. I KNOW what will happen if I don't do these preventative sprays, so why not stop them from ever happening and ensure a healthier plant and garden?

I've been doing this a long time, and I do what my garden needs. Maybe yours doesn't need what mine does, and to draw conclusions because something works for me and not for you is a little nuts.

That said, thank you for your input, but I'm not going to follow your advice.

8 oscillating fans for a 16-light grow is not enough. Ask me how I know.

I remember seeing threads where a guy's constantly losing a decent chunk of his harvest to bud rot, and/or having to chop early due to PM. He goes on with "I have plenty of airflow; 4 oscillators, intake/exhaust fans," ... for a 12-light grow. Really not sure where to begin on that one.

You can talk about how you've been doing it a long time, or you can start showing it.

Last post on this thread. Good luck.

LOL, so should I have 3 fans per plant? How about fourteen? 1 fan per 2 lights is plenty unless you put them all in one spot.

I've never had significant budrot or even a bad case of PM in any grow I've ever done, thanks to a combination of air exchange, dehumidification, air circulation and chemicals. But I'm doing it wrong still eh? Whatever man, go "help" someone who actually has problems.

All of my plants get hit with a fan, every last one of them. Look through my albums for hundreds of pictures of my grows dude, I've been doing large medical grows for many years now and am more familiar with the requirements of indoors grow rooms than most.

Well, shit. Just got back from weighing up, and I'm not happy. I never lie about these things, as it's not fair to you guys! 1400gr total out of 4 lights, which is sad. It's nice weed, frosty, purple, stinky and stony as hell, but it just didn't weigh up. It was a dial-in run, first time using Blumats and bare bulbs too.

So, I'm calling the staggered light thing a failure. I also attribute the low yields to the following:

Not enough flowering wattage, obviously
Genetics: Purple Mr nice isn't a great yielder, and vegges SUPER slow.
Fluoro veg lights, which doesn't help the first issue
Nute burn at week two that I never really managed to fix 100%
Uneven canopy and clones. Out of 49 plants, 7 were under 1' tall and yielded poorly.
Not enough plants, I still had lots of room everywhere!

How I'm planning to fix this:
Lights:5 days ago I switched on all 8 lights over the remaining crop (Jackpots and Double purples) and they have already swollen the buds notably. I switched on the 4 lights behind them tonight for 12KW on.
Genetics: Most future crops will exclude PMN, I think I have one more round in clone but that's probably the end of PMN for now. Jackpot, Grape Stomper and Blue Dragon are my winners.
Veg lights: Need AC and then I can upgrade to 4 X 1KW halides in veg.
Nute burn: Feed less! lol
Canopy and pruning: Going back to pruning lower branches, supercropping and probably gonna try a "fan leaf removal" plant or 3.
Plant count: I'm adding 10 plants per crop until I find a good saturation point. This next crop will be around 70 though.

My consolation prize is that the next batch looks to be MUCH better, and with full light the yields should be much closer to normal.

I really (really!) hoped I could come in here and tell you guys I pulled in 10#, but not this run. Stay tuned and see how bad I suck next round! haha

Gotta wait another crop to buy my AC's and Trim Reaper, but I tested the room with all 16 lit and it will hold it at 81F with just 3 exhaust fans and 1 intake fan, not bad at all.
