I usecarbon filter to cover the big hols Ghost..you really don't need to build all that..it works awesome for me bro..
it blocks light AND keeps dirt, bugs etc out of the case..try it you'll like it!!!

I surprised when he gave me the sensi grow, I wanted some Advanced Nutrients anyway. I just printed out some feeding charts for the sensi and the other stuff. I haven't had a big need or luck with carbon filters so far. Anything I've tried to make just raised the temps and what I'm growing smells good it's just not strong enough to need a filter yet. It may in the future. I was thinking of trying the Holmes Carbon Filter pads at Walmart for $10.00 a box. I heard someone else using them, but don't know if it really works or not. I do know that to keep the temps down any ventilation needs to big enough to not restrict air flow and allow free air movement thus the big ass light traps that are working good and the biggest works the best. I just couldn't figure out any other way to do it. I still have a small amount of loose carbon hanging around. Not enough to really do anything with. So I haven't worried about the smell to much, it's not a problem yet, but it's always in back of my mind should the problem present itself. Then I handle it as it comes, still it would be nice if I had a good working filter when I need it. I've seen a lot of DIY filters here at IC and all are good but most are for bigger grows than mine. So I 'm still looking for the right filter set up. Thanks my friend I'm getting better already. I'm up for suggestions for a filter that doesn't restrict the air flow and won't raise temps. well, the filter pads, dont really stop the smell, but i think that most people use them to trap the light, and it works well for them, ive been testing it out, it doesnt block ALL the light, but enough that i can only see it at night shining on the wall with all the lights out, and only after about 30 mins of my eyes adjusting.

I can say the big ugly trap I made works 100%, and the small one 99%. I haven't had a stink problem like I was use to in the past. I guess it's the strain I'm working with.

what does the Blue cfl do?

for the smell get some ONA gel. downside, expensive and got to get it at hydro shop (worms way).

i have a 400 watt in 5 sq ft with at least 2 girls @ the end of harvest at any given time and the smell is contained in one room. i use ONA and its the only thing you smell. i could probably use one of those plug in glade scent things and it would do the job but i have plenty of ONA.

maybe im lucky with this bag seed not being stinky unless you touch her.

anyway, good luck and im rollin up in my chair for the show.

Greetings Super, Your here now and that's good. Hope you enjoy the show. First let say that my pc case has evolved since the thread has begun to where it is now and still has a few small bugs like the temps right now they are 81 to 84 high but I can live with it for now. The lights are a 300w equivalent of three CFL's 2, 62w/100w soft whites and 1, 27w/100w full spectrum bulb. Now earlier on I did an experiment with a black light CFL to prove to my girlfriend that it would have no effect on the plants. And it looks blue in the photos. Once that was done I went to the full spectrum bulb. and have been there ever since But I would like to get more UVB light to the plants as it does stimulate THC production. I would use ona if I could get some but Worm's Way is a long drive for me over to Tampa. Like you I'm lucky that my plants don't stink real bad unless they are touched so smell isn't an issue yet, until I get some different seeds. I'm working with a indica/sativa strain that a friend gave me and some old bag seed that I had and crossbred them and now growing the F1's and F2's from them. Lets see I just started a little aggressive feeding with newly acquired nutrients. A Few drops of Liquid Karma, a ml of Kool Bloom, a ml of Fish Emulsion, a ml of Floralicious Bloom, a ml of Hydroguard, a ml of Hydroplex, a ml of Sweet Grape, ending with the rest of the Bio Grow I had and shook it up good in a liter of aquarium water. And fed and watered the big girls, then gave the teenagers a taste mixed with more aquarium water. I tried this a couple of days ago and the flowering girls are putting out some new growth and flowers already. So now I'll see how this weak mix of nutrients when I water is going to give the girls a shot in the arm. Good Night All.

For the air box I used a couple of the teriyaki noodle trays that you get from the food store or Dollar General for a 1.00 so you can have lunch before you start making it ha ha.

Hey Ghost, sounds your plant is like mine as far as the smell goes. Mine are into week6 of flower and they only smell after touching them, ah what a sweet smell it is thou...lol. I worried like shit at the start and made sure I got a filter sorted out and fitted early just incase. I did have to install a more powerful fan for it but I am only running it on 7 volts at the moment and keeping the temps stable. I can run it at at 12 volts for full power if I need it.
It's just nice to know it's there if I need it. Iv'e 2 teenagers here, 18yo and a 15yo so I have to stay ahead of the "pack" so to speak. Can't take a chance with out having to explain a strange smell in the garage...lol

That's Stubby a small stinky puff ball. That's the frist F1 she's fat and stinky about 8" cola. [/url] That one was the 2nd big F1 she is about 12" tall and covered with flowers. that one is a Bag Seed cola about 4" long. The frost is hard to see using this cam of mine but it's there. Thanks b00m. I like what your doing down under there they look great. I'm just working with what I have. I'm hoping to send a seed order from The Attitude, I so many waiting for me. I have figure what I to get first. Probably the oldest ones first. A Royal Kush and some Wreckage seeds I think. But until then I'm trying to do keep something growing to keep me supplied. I have now four new F1's 3 weeks old and a F2 1 week old in the small case.
