smokey- no offense, but my guess is that like all of AN's other products, this one is overpriced or not needed garbage.

From searching, I can tell you that a main ingredient is Urea "urine".

Also, this is not an organic product.

HTH

Peace.

yeah. i thought it wasn't organic but i knew i would get more knowledgeable responses here. the stuff is my stupid partner's. i told him all i wanted was blood meal, worm castings, sea bird guano and dolemite lime but he didn't listen to me. he went out and bought 150 dollars worth of this stuff. soo, to accommodate him and shut him up i will use it for him this year.

Ah, always nice to get on a board and listen to the AN whiners. You can spot them by how they haven't ever tried AN, but they dismiss it immediately because they're too cheap to pay for high quality nutes.

Or they just want to talk to hear themselves talk. Who cares whether you like them or not? Don't come to this board. You're not helping SmokeyTheBear out at all.

Hey man, I found this Heavy Harvest feeding schedule at:

http://www.progressive-growth.com/hydroponic_recipe-advanced_nutrients_heavy_harvest.php

I've never used HH before, I admit to it. So I don't know if it works well or not. But if you have the nutes around, might as well use them. Sounds like you didn't have to pay for them, which is always a good thing, no matter how big your budget might be.

I would encourage you, unless you want to be cranky like the other dudes on this board, to give it a fair shot. I mean, why the heck not?

Good luck on this one - always fun to try something new, huh?

"High Quality Nutes" is a bit of a misnomer. High price =/= high quality.

got a sample of it from my hydrostore last year it tells you how much to apply per 10x10 area, so with a bit of math im sure you can divide that measurement by 5 to get your 2x2. didnt like it, i used it on a tester plant vs pureblend and compost tea, i was giving both plants compost tea, the advanced grw fast at first but the compost and pureblend destroyed it in overall vigor. dunnow what it is about HH but it seems to combat the beneficials were so desparately tring to preserve for outdoor. Take it back to the store (sell on craigslist, sprinkle on the worst looking lawn in town as a kind free fert for them) but do anything but use it on your plants!, tell him u used it and put the right stuff on there and hell never know. ill say this tho, it did give good growth, but left the unmistakeable advanced nuterient advanced burn in the throat so i wont use it again (with a 2.5 week flush easy!)

Laughable and at the same time it's also delusional.

At best.

Thanks for sharing regardless!

Heavy harvest works just fine.
Follow the guidelines, or, if your the lazy kind, go by feel by light sprinkling in a 1 meter radius around the plant, being carefull not to drop too much near the stalk of a freshly transplanted plant.

haha I've got a friend who cannot seem to grasp the fact that just maybe things from the earth that work in tandem with a plant work better at times... Instead of force feeding them over-priced chemicals like they're some kind of factory farmed cow.

I say sell it on craig's list, and just tell him you're using it, then feed them organic nutes....Actually that's a stupid idea since he'll then want to use it forever. Just be real with him about the main ingredient Zendo found. Like "c'mon bro this shit is just some piss! see it says right here!":look at this:

oh, guys. don't worry. i have my own personal plants with straight organics. then i have his with the heavy harvest......all in the same plots so we can tell the difference. we will see if it makes a difference. my bet is that it won't.

Here are links to all 3 products manufactured by Advanced Nutrients with the name 'Heavy Hitter' in the name title.

Check out the levels of heavy metals - particularly Cadmium and Zinc. They're off the chart - Wow!

HEAVY HARVEST FALL BLEND 13-14-16 PREMIUM FERTILIZER

Note: Cadmium is 42.8 ppm - Zinc 888 ppm

HEAVY HARVEST SPRING BLEND 25-9-7 PREMIUM FERTILIZER

Note: Quite a bit better with this version - Cadmium is only 1.4 ppm. Not to worry though, VideoMike came through by upping the Nickel to 66.5 ppm and Zinc comes in at 2023 ppm. Good amount of lead as well - 13.5 ppm and he threw in some Cobalt to boot - 16.9 ppm

HEAVY HARVEST SUMMER BLEND 13-15-11 PREMIUM FERTILIZER

Note: Besides the Cobalt @ 7.6 ppm, some Nickel @ 5.1 ppm, Lead @ 4.2 ppm he still managed to get Zinc @ 459.8 ppm

These are not my numbers. They're not from those horrible AN Haters by golly - nope! These numbers were supplied by Advanced Nutrients to the State of Washington's Department of Agriculture as required by statute. The same numbers were provided to the Oregon Department of Agriculture as well.

So much for the 'haters' eh? Load up your medicine with Cadmium, Cobalt, Lead, Zinc, Nickel and then brag about the yield? Seriously?

Are there no standards at all with the chemical crowd?

Friggin' amazing.

Haha I was contemplating what to do with my unused chemical fertilizers. Actually, I wouldn't even put that on my worst patches of lawn.

Basically chemical fertilizer companies are forcing you to continue using their products which results in $$$ for them; the more you use chemical fertilizers the more it destroys your soil and the more you need to use chemical fertilizers because your plants cannot gather any nutrients from the soil, SLICK huh?
