im having a hard time getting myself to try some jems, they just never look like they put out more then 7 grams tops, very spindly little buddlets, much like a auto hindu kush, looks like a low low yeilder on average untill i actually see a pic of something decent im holding off on theese.

Sorry Freedom Fighter..been busy with my other thread and didn't see you.

The Black AF in my avatar is the First and only...up to now..

She was grown on the worst part of my season.
I would guess she would be what I call a standard AF size...
so you are probably right...'bout LR#2 size..
I'll tell you better at the end of summer.

The more recent photos in the thread are the non-af version.
Again the were outdoor since January..and I had 3 pheno's in a 20 ltr pot..
so again..I have no real idea of yield.

IMO..no plant is going to throw that much colour through cold alone...
AND..DC is throwing full Black phenos with other crosses.
(Check esbe's thread in outdoor..and Tom Hills own forum..)

sooooo...my heart says it is not cold/light dependant..
But..
my head says nowt is proved unless I can get them out on my summer season.

Maybe I missed it, but did you pollinate your Black AF yet?
Would love to be a test grower for you.
I run a soilless grow under a mixture of CMH/HPS/T5 lighting, room temps kept below 65F(18C) at night & between 70-80F(21-26C) day, Floranova Grow/Bloom (will be switching to MaxiBloom soon) & OceanSolution. So should be a good test environment. New to AFs but not to growing for sure!

The Full black pheno my m8...not in AF.

When you get your 50 posts I will mail you and let you know their shared heritage..then you will know why esbe getting the black out gives me hope on mine.....

IBL..AF black male..but with a slightly slower "blacking up" pheno.

(The Non-AF's had a double black non-af cross as base..
but showed no black @ F1 or F2..
the non-af blacks in thread are F3..and BX 1)

Sorry to contribute to the sidetrack, but I have to correct this.....

You haven't seen it grown right or the right phenos grown if you think it can only yield 7g. My JEMS easily hit 1/2 oz in a micro cab under 150w, with by bigger one hitting just under 1oz (in 1 gal container if I remember right).

Outdoors, more sun, planted in soil, I think flowering was delayed, but I got 2+oz off each plant, grown in hastily prepared shallow holes not more than 20cm/8" deep and some crappy time release ferts.

Bushier structure outside, more single cola with 2-4 smaller side branches indoors.
