I cant find a pre-filter for my phat filter

I have a 6x20 Phat Filter. I can't seem to find any pre-filters for it. Any opinions on what the best DIY pre-filter would be for this? Something from the Home Depot perhaps?

Or if anyone knows where they sell phat filter pre-filters that'd be cool too.

Thank you :tiphat:

You could try the Web Absorber high efficiency odor control filter at Home Depot. It's 20"X25", has a activated carbon layer, a PREFILTER layer, and plastic skeleton/ support. It's made for furnaces and is easily taken apart and cut to size. It's about $10 and is VERY effective.

Thanks Bork Bork.

I got a 6" x 20" from hydroasis. I measured it just now and it fits the description. I would assume I could get the 6"x24" phresh pre filter and just trim it down, no?

The diameter on the actual can is 10" if that makes a difference.

I'll pick one up today. Thanks rogue.

That's exactly what I use inside my Cans. The plastic grate/support keeps the filter material stationary against the surface of the Can.

trip out. I just picked up one of those for a prefilter last week. Although, I did have to go back and get a second one. The flange is the only part of my filter that is 6" lol. Math ftl. I needed two to fit around the fat part.

you can buy a roll of cotton batting from an arts/crafts store. Thats basically what prefilters are made out of anyway.
