I have had my money stolen due to my own fault...and it really sucks when someone takes your money. So, I made a promise to myself that from then on...if I ever found a wallet with money, or someones personal belongings that I would be a decent person and give it back...because in the end I would want someone to do it for me.

I have returned hundreds before and didn't receive anything in return. The act alone makes me feel good inside...and that is the only form of payment I need.

I realize that I am in the small minority here...but if you have ever had money stolen from you before....or maybe dropped your wallet...and had lots of money in it....it is just horrible. You would really want the person who found it to give it back to you...and thats how I try to live my life.

I would see receiving the money as good karma coming back on me. As I've always been honest if people leave a wallet at my house, forget I know them money, or like once upon a time when acquaintances would be coming over and handing me too much money on accident.

Likely it's either a corporate store, which I would feel no guilt whatsoever. Or maybe it's a large franchise. No guilt. Small franchise, some bit of guilt. Or a very small franchise whom only has one store, I would feel guilty.

If it were me, I would feel that Taco Bell could do without a couple grand to go towards all the honesty I've given. Someone made a mistake and it was meant to be.

But I say if you've always gone you're life being a low down dirty nutsack. Give it back.

Nope. I don't take the money. Happened to me at my bank once. Deposited a paycheck, they deposited my check, gave me a receipt saying so, and gave me the same amount, cash, as if I cashed it.
Drove around through the drive thru again, to give the money back. It was the right thing to do. Period.
Karma.

Yep, I completely agree with that. I think it's profoundly dishonest and selfish to say "I know they made a mistake and the money wasn't meant to be given to me, but they gave it to me, so I'm keeping it."

I would bring it back....bet you get a nice reward for it. Not to mention karma pays for itself!
Nope, this is a corperation, my karma is about not hurting individual people, and helping where I can.
I would look at the bag of cash as a karmic reward for my good deeds that year and keep it.

But I think it would depend on if I really needed(like about to be kicked out for no rent) the money or not, if not, then I would give it back

id like to think I would take it back to save that persons job and make them happy again. Not sure if I'm that nice though. I think the poll should have a 'maybe' option.

In a lot of these places, it's the individual that ends up paying for their mistake, not the company. I've known plenty of people that have worked as waiters in restaurants, and if a person walks off without paying for their meal thinking they're "sticking it to the big corporations", they're actually just deducting the cost of the meal from the employee's wage.

You know, I think this is just a big inside crack head employee job.
Has friend drive up and order, "accidentaly" gives him the money bag instead of the food, after work they hook up, and it's time to smoke up the taco money.

I said this on the first page :D

There is no question that this happened "accidentally on purpose" and "Would you give the money back?" should not even be an option...

That would assume that it was truly accidental to begin with, which it wasn't.

I gotta ask why the POlice are involved? someone hands you $2000 are you legally bound to give it back? The $2000 is not some corporation's money BTW, it belongs to the owner/operator of the franchise. What ever dog-food company that must own the name will get theirs no matter.

Mistake r no, they gave the young lady the money. I just don;t get why the cops were even called? A?

That is exactly what I said, because it is a company, fuck how many companies steal from people everyday, and she did not even steal it. I normally dont check the contents of a drive thru order, so I would have gotten home seen the money, then ordered a pizza

This is not stealing, she was handed the money, if it is someone wallet I would hand deliver back to their address or turn it in, at the PO PO HQ, I have done it before...and that includes them kind of looking at me thinking I stole it

That would just about make it even for all the fucked up orders I have gotten from Taco Hell. And guys why does it have to be a Karma thing, maybe she was receiving good Karma? And the Taco Bell was getting their Karma for making folks sick with their shitty food.

If it was a major corp. then hell yes I'd keep it, but if it was a mom/pop store or some individual then I would return it unless they carried themselves like 2k was nothing but chump change then the same shit as a major corporation comes into play......your beat it's mines.

I totally agree, even if karma has a roll in this, which if you really think about karma some people spend there entire life doing bad rotten things and have the best of luck, beautiful things and wonderful health. If you say they pay in the afterlife, then your just kidding yourself.

Does it bother you that the employee, probably being paid minimum wage and struggling to make a living as it is, that accidentally handed over the money, was probably made to pay back the company the $2000, thus costing Taco Bell absolutely nothing?

In almost all cases it's the employee that foots the bill for any mistake made. Just because they work for Taco Bell, doesn't mean that Taco Bell are the ones paying for the mistake. Under normal circumstances they hold the individual responsible.

Did you post this shit to the good Dr.???

Nope - you think I'm no-one - nameless, faceless newb.

Wrong, El Doucho

My various lives here predate yours by a year, and I've abandoned more K+ than you'll ever get. By a factor of 2.

Don't preach on karma, asshole - my K has gotten me big bundles of weed sent by people I've never met, and my sons are both hetero, smart, athletic, chick magnets.

I talk what I practice - no ambiguity here. Don't like it - fuck off and die.

And you join the "ignored"

Ha Ha Ha! Internet tough guy. You are trying to justify your, self proclaimed greatness to me thru a MJ website, and I'm a loser. I guess we should all give thanks, for your presence here. You crack me up.
