I finally smoke DP's strawberry cough

what garbage. I've been smoking the KKSC for almost 10 years and it is my favorite strain of all time. Kyle sold it to DP in '06 I was pissed cause I knew they wouldn't do the proper work to keep the good name of the cough. And I was right. Fuck Dutch Passion for not doing proper breeding with such an important strain.

To anyone who thinks the Strawberry Cough sucks because you've grown DP's version. Don't give up. Find the real clone. It's been my favorite strain for 10 years and probably won't get knocked off soon.

the real Strawberry Cough is a wonderful strain for anxiety/depression. about 5 years ago, a friend from OG/ICmag and I had a long discussion about the mood enhancement properties of the Cough. It really is the kind of weed that puts your mind at ease and generally just makes the day more pleasant.

I would think it is still possible to find some sort of mood enhancing qualities in the DP's cough, since the mom is the KKSC, but at least the few phenos i've seen from DP, look, smell, and taste nothing like the real deal Kyle Kushman Strawberry Cough.

there may be some useful phenos in a pack
but the chances just look a little too chancy to find a good one
so other strains go on the shorter list
the real SC is clone only? which would put it out of my reach, for the moment anyways
but thanks again for that info, there do sound like some very useful genetics in lines bred from the original

BUT..I have the kk cut and am working it into several lines and spreading them around.c99 and durban poison so far.Within a year i should have some to put in the server fund or freebies or whatever.

looking toward a nevile haze or a mango haze to establish the haze qualities more.

well i thought there was a rat in this DP strawberry cough. Just saying it has a strawberry flavor was an indicator that it was not the kyle kushman version. the kushman original doesnt taste of strawberries at all. It was named that because it was grown in the garden next to the strawberries not because it tasted of strawberries.

very cool! I would love to see the haze pop more from the cough. obviously we know it tastes very sweet and hazey already. but i would love for it to go more in the haze direction. i like me some strong psychedelic weed.

yes and no.
when done organicly it gets a frosted sweet smell ontop of the haze spice that is very close to strawberry..i think KK has noted a berry scent in the clones as well..or so the story I read said lol.
the taste to me is something like carrot cake..spice with a frosted sweet icing that is berryish to most educated palates.In most cases only the haze side is noticable..she can be fussy about who she will perform for.

Yeah should be some real winners..in shooting for a fast finishing haze strain as a final line.

i've been workin on getting the original parents of SC.... Strawberry Fields, an old school indica that was crossed with... oh shit, which sativa? one of the hazes?

if i ever get a cut or seeds (of SF), it will be my main focus for years to come, and will defo be the start of a bean company

the Male in the cross was Original Haze. but goodluck on strawberry fields. that strain has been extinct for many years from what I understand.

i've seen strawberry cough listed as a strain for apothecary seeds, has anyone tried this? does anyone know if there are s1's of the real clone available anywhere?

I know of a few people who have used C. Silver to force hermies and make S1 cough seeds. But you need the silver machine to do it, cause the KKSC does not herm. I've been growing it for 5 years and still have never seen it pop a banana.

KKSC definetly does not herm..been almost ten years and every stress imaginable and not a single nanner.I will not be making S1s anytime soon but may make some fem hybrids using pollen from a reversed SC and other solid clone only strains as moms.
