what's your G.E.S.? [garden efficiency score]

let me get your formula right here... So for a 4x4 space (16 ft^2) with 60 days in flower you're looking to yield 960g to be at 1 g/day/sqft?

hmm.... I guess I like it, makes sense to me.

Real efficiency would measure grams per day / square foot of space. So a grm per sq' day is my measure.

My best run has been .5grms per square foot per day (56 days in flower for my best).

:joint:

PS. The real measure is grams produced per year divided by total sq' foot of garden used (veg and flower). You could also divide your total grams by total electrical payments for the 12 months and get a useful number also.

not every one grows for 12 months and only figuring out the efficiency of your garden annually isnt practical

Provided you're only in it for personal supply then the real measure is whether or not you can keep you and all your friends sufficiently high from one harvest to the next. If you run out of bud then you need to increase your efficiency

if u yielded 960 with a 1000 watt light you got 0.96 grams per watt
thats pretty damn good how long did u veg for ?

I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to hydrosun. The part where I said grams per square foot per day should have been the clue that I wasn't using your formula.

However since you're asking I will tell you that I HAVE yielded 560 grams from a 4x4 space with a single 600W. Using your formula that's a score of 9.1

I don't think it matters really, why count veg time? A guy vegging with 1000W of T-5's won't get the same results as a guy vegging with a 1KW halide, or the guy running 1kw of LED's. We all use different means and lights to veg, but we all pretty much flower the same way. That's why it's the only constant that can be effectively compared.

You can graph it daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly as well as annualy if that makes you feel better, sure some runs are better than others. If you don't grow 12 months a year then you aren't out to set G.E.S. records and there really isn't any reason to keep data besides personal curiosity.

If however you are trying to get better ICmag is a great place to learn how to bring up your G.E.S.

I still say grams per square foot per day is the best measure and using 100% of the grow area is most accurate. We can all fudge the numbers and only look at our harvests over flower days or watts, but that really cheats the truth because many of us have down time between runs; which is itself a measure of inefficiency ;)

first of all thats why flowering time isnt in the formula its strain pacific for the most part and we count veg time cuz it cost money time laber and space and some of us dont veg at all straight clone ta flower sog or we have seperate veg rooms ovesly some one veging for a month compared to some one that dosent veg at all and yields the same is much more effeicient

if u only grow 2 times ever thers a reason ta keep data so your second grow is more effeicint than your first and grams per square foot per day is like some one telling me im 18000 mm tall (confusing) lol and grams per watt acounts for the grow area ive just added time into the equation to make it more accurate but your dead on about down time but if u just add that as veg time it works in the formula :) an any tips ta tweek the g.e.s would be greatly aprectiated besides my spelling i am dyslexic lol
