Do you think you can hunt on public land? I am sure this was someone's private property. I do not want a dickhead cop or a fucktard grower on my PRIVATE LAND. I prefer to have an orderly society, and that includes laws that all must obey. Some might not be popular with many, as the current pot policy in most states, but following the 3 golden rules with 1K or less garden ON YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY keeps the cops off your back.
People speed or break other simple laws everyday, and sometimes they get caught - either way no big deal. But when people do something serious like murder, they deserve to get everything coming and more. While not murder, you can not fault the hunter for immediately fearing for his own safety and that of the property owner, most likely a friend, when they spotted this massive grow.

Shithead Mexican cartels organize these big illegal grows. Is that cool with you? What if it were kids in a forced labor camp? Or what of the poppy farmers in Afghanistan? Shit, at least they grow in their own country. The weed the cartels grow here may get sold here, but the money leaves the country. I don't support that in this industry more than any other.
The dirtbag cartels that do these massive grows use what amounts to slavery to run them. They smuggle people across the border to run the grow all year, in exchange for their passage into the US. The guys that are onsite at the grows are just scared peasants. The real bosses are back in Mexico raking in money by the truckload.
They come here and fuck up our land, stealing our water from streams and rivers, and leave big messes behind. They have booby traps and guns, and people do get hurt. It's heavy-duty blackmarket weed biz, and the Mexican and Asian cartels do not fuck around. Why shouldn't we scorn and hate them?

I know it seems like shwag is dead in some areas, but here it is alive and well. why are they still growing crappy bud if they hire people to come here and grow good bud? it just doesn't make any sense at all.

Yes you can hunt on public land. It is called state game lands and not only are they for hunting they are parks in the most general sense. Hiking, camping, fishing, etc.

I have spent some time down there and it is not really that easy. A lot of the time, cartels pay growers(actually just poor farmers) ~$5.00-15.00 a pound for them just to plant and grow the seeds they provide.
They do very little in education as far as horticulture. A lot of times, especially in and around Sinaloa, the ground is pretty shitty, and they use raised beds to grow in. Actually it is just a tire filled with dirt. That gets the root mass strong enough to drill down into the hard rocky soils.
The idea is that the cartels want to pay only the minimum to have it grown, because it is still a hot commodity (seeds and all) in the U.S.
If they were to grow "sin semilla" they would lose a huge consumer base, that do not want to pay 50 for 1/8. Plenty of people that do not know better,...love schwag.
