Why would you flush your bag-bought soil before use. Are there that many nutes packed into it? Does it have salt build-up?...........SC

Why bother with the hassles and just get you a bail of promix or sunshine and add some of your own bat shit and bird turd?

Below is the graphic for the product that you're talking about, Fox Farm Planting Mix

You'll note that on the front of the bag it states Ready To Use so that if on the back of the bag it's telling the customer to 'flush several times' then there's obviously a huge disconnect from the marketing side of things (the front label) vs. what it really takes (the actual directions).

Not that having any number of huge 'disconnects' is anything new to Fox Farm Fertilizer Co. - it's actually their business model.

Tip Staff,

use up the fox farm you have, and then get FF out of your life..

I switched from FF to Sunshine Growers Natural and Organic, and the difference is huge.

Sun Gro has some good OMRI listed stuff , and the sunshine mixes and the one I am using by recommendation of CC works stellar.

I used their plantfoods but just have used miracle grow potting soil and scotts potting soil...the Scotts sucked but after adding FF nutes the plants looked healthy the next day...never tried FF soil though.

So what do you guys consider to be the best ready to use soil?
