Neem is fairly safe for another 2 weeks or so...I will hit the girls with it today and in another 3 days to get any unhatched fuckers that weren't affected by the bomb. Then it's predators from there on out. -- I hope
I know I am late to the Party, but in my Defense, I just found yous'e!
I have recently discovered and tested out the "Hot Shot -No Pest Strip". I got mine at Lowes for under $7. On my LAST Mite infestation, I did my usual Neem/Soap Spray, and seemed to get most everything. On the 3rd day, they rose again...$hit! Starting to sound like a sermon... anywho... I ran up to Lowes and picked up the Hot Shot. When the Lights went out for the night, I turned off my exhaust, and just hung it on the back of my canopy fan. Believe it or not, when the lights came back on after 6 hours, they were all dead, even the small recently hatched mites! Alot of the eggs had turned black, which I assume is killing them? So now I bring it out overnight, once or twice a week for preventative measures. In the morning when I plug back in my exhaust, I put the Hot Shot in a Zip Lock Bag to stop the bug killing vapor. Just 1 is supposed to cover over 1100 ft2?
I recommended it to a Patient of mine who had a major mite infestation in 12/12. He left it in for a couple days straight, and it wiped out ALL of the Living Mites, and most of the eggs.
The warning on the package says it is for areas that are not frequented my Humans. They dont recommend more than 4 hours exsposure per day, or something like that, please read carefully. We have not noticed ANY hazzards to the plants, but swear by its Mite Killing Properties, and it is also good for flying bugs...Thrips? Fungus Gnats? I have not had Thrips or Fungus Gnats since I got rid of all Soil, but I would bet it would work!
Good Luck!
