Shovelhandle's Spring 2009 Grow

C

Cracky

Blueberry and Mazar both Dutch Passion from a dutch seed vendor.

The SSH is still very, very early in the game. The information said 8 -10 weeks but this is an all sativa pheno and I'd guess 10-12+ weeks.
BB 7-8 weeks
Mazar 8-9 weeks.
I tend to flower longer than advertised.

Thanks R.

Day 54

Just a couple of shitty photos to show that the grow is still ongoing. I pollinated a single branch on the stinky BB and the SSH as well as the late pheno BB outdoors. The Mazars are puting out fresh pistils and the BB are continuing to do so as well. The SSH is still on track and looks like it will be another four weeks, at least. I think the BBs and Mazars will be another two weeks, around ten weeks total bloom time. I will cut the branches from the stalk at harvest, leaving the branches with the seed for another few weeks to ripen.

Thanks, <g>
It's week nine. Checked all the trics and they are all mostly clear with some amber in the clears. The Mazar and Blueberry have a few opaques (cloudy). They all are going another week plus, the SSH may go 2-3 more, depending. They are all still putting out some fresh pistils. The calaxes are stacking nice on some of the plants. Photos later this week.

Day 62

Trichomes on all three strains were 50/50 clear-cloudy with some clear/amber. I plan on harvesting most of the BB and Mazar in one week, leaving the SSH for another week or two, depending on new pistil growth and trichome ripening.

Some of the plants are drying out. I don't plant to water the four of the plants I plan on harvesting this weekend. As soon as each dries out I'll put that plant into a dark partially covered) area of the room. The last BB will run another week and I'll do pretty much the same thing at that time. The SSH and one of the Mazar will be run out a few more weeks with just a single branch for seeds (I hope).

Thanks folks, Outdoors I have one blueberry female revegging, looking great. I put out two afghani females recently. They have full sun, good potting soil, wire fencing and lots of mulch. There is also a revegging Bubblegum male I'd like to seed the afghani with.

man cracky everything is looking great... i want to add that you Mazaars are looking especially nice... i have a bunch of MIS that i got as freebies from Sbay that i want to grow out and try some crosses with some of my more potent strains...i dunno if you read the Sbay forums at all but a bunch of people are complaining about the MIS and getting so many of them... i think you should stop by the current freebies thread in the Seedbay forum and drop some amazing pictures on the haters when your MIS is all finished... good luck w/ the rest of your grow, especially your outdoor (i just got my holes dug for mine last night w/ the girls inside still vegging) and awesome job once again

Well, the Mazar strain is actually MIS x Skunk #1.
Aghani (MIS) should be great to cross with some other strains, it's been done successfully so many times. Good Luck!

I"ll chop these this weekend. I took these two outdoors to have their photo taken before they are hung. The Blueberry smells very fruity-sweet, the Mazar also smells sweet w/ a touch of skunk. :)

Mazar, first time for this one.

Mazar, first time for this one.

I've grown a few afghani strains before as they are some of my favorite kinds.

Well, I'm speed-drying a few lower branches of the BB and Mazar. I rolled a j of the dry shake from the Mazar and smoked about a third. Mild and flavorful with a very strong stone. Still buzzed nicely 2 1/2 hrs later. I'm sure it will be even better in time and at the right time (not shake and bake/go into town to do business), especially smokin' the sticky tops.

At 11 weeks the final Blueberry is showing 40-50% amber. I've put her into the dark for a couple of days before I hang it. The others are still drying.

SSH is still flowering and I'm still feeding with molasses and AN Overdrive.

thanks, them are little hills tho, maybe mts. in Fla, huh? <g>
Keep up the good work with the breeding, Bub! Due to the wet, cool Spring/Summer I lost many of the seedlings I started (Pythium wilt). After all the trials I have no NCDG at all. The only(outdoor) survivors are two female Z10. I also have a revegging Blueberry female and a revegging Bubblegum male to polinate the Z10.
