Colorado House Bill 1284

So it says "initial approval" does that mean it's set in stone? When does it become "final approval" or "fucking law"

3rd and Final Vote in the Senate today or tomorrow, then back to the House for 1 vote to approve the Senate's Amendments, then Gov. Ritter's desk for a signature. They recess next Wednesday, so it looks like they will get it done, they really only have a couple more hours of work to do on this.

MAYBE RITTER WILL REFUSE TO SIGN IT! HE'S NOT UP FOR RE-ELECTION!

Everyone is getting screwed on this, everyone.... except for the really big guys... they'll be getting richer!

So it says "initial approval" does that mean it's set in stone? When does it become "final approval" or "fucking law"

Today the Senate will vote on the "final" reading...then it goes back to the House to vote on the Amendments as well...they could still strike it down!!!! (Wishful thinking)...after that it goes to the governor...

Yes, Romer snuck that Sept 1 date in....Dispensarys that cannot certify the 70% will be able to stay open til 7/1/2011, but will have to close after that...if they haven't submitted proof by 9/1/2010....

THIS BILL FUCKS ALL SMALL DISPENSARIES/GROWERS!!!!! Welcome to the "New" Cali Mega-dispensary world...back underground for me!!!!:wtf:

Yeah...the Cali "immigrants" won...they succeeded in coming here to Colorado and getting the laws written for them....

CALL YOUR REPS...EMAIL IS TOO LATE...CALL YOUR REPS, CALL THE NEIGHBORING REPS, LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE NOT HAPPY....CALL THE GOVS OFFICE, ASK HIM TO VETO....TIME IS SHORT AND IT LOOKS LIKE OUR LEGISLATURE IS GOING TO "CALIFORNICATE" COLORADO!!!!!!

CALL THESE PEOPLE EVERYTIME YOU THINK ABOUT IT, LEAVE MESSAGES. CALL HOURLY...JUST CALL....CALLL....CALLL

That's not what Warren Edson told me. I plan to be getting a grower's license and being linked to a dispensary. It seems to be the way to go when you want nothing to do with retail and you want to grow as much great medicine as you can for the most number of patients.

I just hope the 2 year residency thing doesn't apply. It sure is a pain in the ass planning a move in the middle of this legislative nightmare.

YEAH...AND WHERE IS WARREN NOW...HE TROLLED HERE LONG ENOUGH TO GET A FEW CLIENTS...THEN DISAPPEARED!!

CALL THESE NUMBERS HOURLY!!!!

CALL THESE NUMBERS HOURLY!!!!

OK, CALL YOUR SENATOR...NOW!!! SORRY COULDN'T CUT & PASTE

http://www.leg.state.co.us/Clics/CLICS2010A/csl.nsf/Directory?openFrameset

NOTICE NEXT TO THEIR NAMES IT SAYS HOUSE OR SENATE

After it passes the SENATE today, the HOUSE will vote on the Amendments....call your REP!!!!! -- HOURLY, INCESSANTLY!!!
http://www.leg.state.co.us/Clics/CLICS2010A/csl.nsf/DirectoryHou?openframeset

IT IS TOO LATE FOR EMAIL!!! WE GOTTA CALL THESE GUYS...ESPECIALLY THE HOUSE REPS...THEY CAN STILL VETO WHEN THEY VOTE ON ALL THE AMENDMENTS THE SENATE ADDED!!! ALSO CALL RITTER'S OFFICE, ASKING HIM TO VETO!!!! THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE!!!!

Ok Dave,

I am getting frustrated. I just moved to larimer county and I don't know who my rep is or what district I am in. I've looked online and can't find the information - it's probably staring me in the face. Do you know who I call?

Thanks,
- L

come on, Dave. it's time to stop blaming CO's problems on CA.

Sure, some CA investors initially supported and lobbied for this bill, but can you really assert that 1284 is going to benefit the golden state when there's an amendment that says club owners must be 2-year residents of CO? Sure, maybe some rich CA investor had a condo in Aspen in 2008, but for the most part (correct me if i'm wrong) the 2-year amendment stops club owners from California.

It's time to wake up and look at your local lawyers (edson, brown, etc), state politicians, and the dr.-dobson loving mentality that seems big in CO. fuck'n'a, assclown Romer (who basically said yesterday his bill is for born-again, baby-boomer moms) seems like a liberal compared to Gov. Ritter, the man who insisted that the 5-patient limit (despite legal precedent) is a "non-negotiable" part of the bill, or the senator who insisted yesterday that the national guard should have been released on 4.20. (We're talking Seattle G8 riot response for tokin' peacefully.)

Stop blamin' "CALI"...you don't want our immigrants, but what about all our potting soil, our world-class strains, and "CALI" political activism that has literally changed the world? How many of Coloradans can say they were club members at the first cannabis coops in the nation, back when the feds were takin' everyone down? (3rd floor, bitches)

BTW, no NORCAL native Californian would ever call the state "cali." That's the first way to spot a fuckin' immigrant here, but we aren't so xenophobic. Come on out west in November y'all...

The 2 yr thing is a smokescreen...it's for people coming after Sept 1, 2010...anyone here before 9/1/2009 is exampt...read the bill

"Cali" is MEANT to be disrepectful!!! I feel no different about this, than I do about "illegal" aliens...these Cali mega stores that fucked up Cali are coming here....they are closing clinics in Cali on a daily...becuase they fucked things up.

You made your bed in your state...stay there and deal with it!!!

This Bill is so fucked....in so many ways...

...and scarred...if you don't like what I am saying....stay in Cali!!! Alot of us "Natives" (Yes, I am a Native Coloradoan) feel this way!!!!

How is it that Matt Brown has the priviledge of testifying before the State Senate in Colorado...without even being a registerred voter in this State...he is a fucking invader...just like the rest of the Cali immigrants!!!

Exactly. Matt Brown was pissed off a few days ago when they added the 2 year thing, then Romer wanting to keep him happy decided to add the grandfather clause. Fuck California, first they flood our market with all their crappy outdoor shit that they couldnt get rid of there and now this. Fuck Matt Brown Nose, and fuck Josh Stanley. I heard him on Tom Martino last week talking about how great this bill was and that his dispensary was working on a strain that has all the medical benefits but will not get you high, I'm sure he's been touting that line of shit to all the Senators for months. He's obviously making excuses for his crappy meds.

you're right Dave, I stopped reading this monstrosity a draft ago when I realize that only the wording and none of the concepts of the bill were changing...
but my point is still valid. Last time I checked, no Californians are on the Colorado state legislature. And what about people from other states? I might be wrong, but the "big" dispensary owner on the Daily Show sounded like he was from fuckin' Jersey.

btw, I was born in California, before I could make any kind of "bed," and I know that lots of people from other states hate californians "just cause"...(jealousy?). My wrecked move to CO actually had everything to do with my wife's educational goals and nothing to do with some groveling need for acceptance by others...even mighty coloradans. The only problem is that your fucked up state wants to pay me less than 25k/year to do my job, which requires 6 years of college education, so I was going to have to do a little vending to get by...

But I guess I'll just have to keep growin' the bomb in "CALI" and having the MOB import it to CO...but that's the way y'all want it, right?

and let me check...oh, matt brown still isn't a californian...doesn't even have an office here

Or maybe they will pass legalization there and RJ Reynolds can come in and take it over. Sounds like thats the way you want it.

No...Matt Brown is a POS Kansan....too bad it didn't work out for you....

....you are also right about no Californians sitting in our legislature....just big Cal $$ lobbying those greedy fucks that are...this is a big business bill....not a bill about patients...which the Amendment is...

Really scarred, if you are in Cali and plan on staying there, you have no dog in this fight....why are you even commenting??

yeah, i might not be moving to Colorado, at least not right now.

But that doesn't mean I don't have a "dog in the fight;" all us cannagraphers should stick together and have an interest in medicinal cannabis legislation throughout the world. You are the one who keeps insisting on how much California law and its consequences have an effect on CO, which is like a 20-hour drive away.

When we let petty squabbles about geography and regional pride keep otherwise like-minded communities apart, we are easily divided and conquered, as WE have been with hb1284. Image what might have been possible if the Colorado patient community had more support from patients all over the world...

Blaming cannagraphers from a certain region distracts us from the real problems, such as greed. As greenmopho said somewhere a few pages ago, the real problem is people who love money more than cannabis, and that's a sickness that knows no boundaries.

Maybe, Dave, we'll someday meet on a hiking trail in the Sierras or the Front Range, and we'll sit down and smoke a few.

Shalom

The Cali "immigrants" are only here because of "greed"...otherwise they would have stayed home...they sure as hell aren't here to "help" the patients...

The Mega_Stores, at least the majority of them, are all owned by Cali "immigrant" invaders!

I'll tip my hat to you as a cannagrapher :tiphat: but corporate dispensaries and their lobbying money are not welcome in my home state. Neither are their politics or their plans to monopolize on the the Colorado cannabis economy.

If you think you have a dog in this fight than pick up your phone and make some calls with us to try and stop this thing.
