this lady seems to be for it, she mentions income generated by inspections, and 1000 dollar permits plus the tax. but on the whole she makes very good arguments. she talks about the war on drugs, but she doesn't come up with a way to stop the war on cannabis, she just wants to tone it down, but i guess like some say, it's better then nothing. i guess only time will really tell.

I have seen those videos and I still fail to see why they believe that those "new" crimes for people over 21 giving bud to people between 18-21 are going to be felonies, it says nothing of the sort in the initiative text. I have much respect for Peron, as well as his position because I share much of his sentiment, the difference is I am willing to look past the small technical differences and see that this is still a huge step forward for your average Joe Jointroller who just wants to kick a blunt and relax after work, as well as making life MUCH easier for dispensary owners and medical patients.

if this bill passes most of us will still be doing it illegally, forced because richard lee isnt giving out commercial permits, etc. screw 5x5 that is some retard shit...i only grow for personal now and 5x5 just dont cut it....10x10 is the bare minimum.

if its for legalization, then why all the new laws making things illegal?

is it that hard to grasp? or am i just gonna hear more "your greedy dealing filth!"

ignorant mafuckas...this is just like when the democrats were pushing for healthcare and the only argument they could make was "your a teabaggin repiglickin screw you vote for healthcare its happyness for all!!"

wake the fuck up!!

draft a new bill where we have 10x10 or larger space, garunteed commercial licenses for a reasonable price, and drop the 1 ounce possesion outside the house BS.

right now we can carry 8 ounces with your card!! after this bill only 1? WTF??

with this initiative you will be able to possess however much you want inside your residence as well as "gift" up to 1 ounce to anyone over the age of 21.

when will you need to be transporting over 1 ounce out of your home anyways?

and as stated, your medical status will not change with the introduction of this initiative.

where do you get this information about Richard Lee bing in control of commercial licenses? stop spreading the misinformation.

Gaiusmarius and Yes4prop215 you know whats up. I am all for legalization. What this bill does is use that word to fool nieve people into voting for it. It is a step backward in my opinion because it will set new regulations, and new crimes, as I said before in the name of $. It should be legal COMPLETELY. You should be able to smoke while driving or anywhere public or grow anywhere in any amount. It will never happen. Colorado has several "legal" cities. People get arrested in these cities. It is illegal federally. Federal law overpowers state law. So are you saying California will be breaking federal law.I just see no benefit from this. So multiply the problem of bullshit weed that is sold at dispenseries by 10,000 if this passes. When most people fail at their grow , there will probally be an even bigger price tag on A+ meds due to higher demand cause its legal and now everyone thinks they can grow, flooding bullshit making the real deal even more rare. And this will still be coming from the black market, this stuff will not reach retail places.

not from Cali here, but you guys are nuts if you don't vote for any type of legalization. it's a step in the right direction. the law can be tweaked in the future.

for you commercial growers, shame on you guys for putting profit ahead of people's freedom.

Yep.. It's a half-assed step forward. First I found that when gathering signatures for California Cannabis Init. That folks do not know the difference between Decriminalization and Legalization.

We all know that Tax2010 specifically excludes protections for working people right?

That was added to the second draft.

Well the most obvious result of this political movement I see is that supply is high.

Mexico is able to supply more weed than ever before and Mendocino area may be having a glut in the market and are getting a little as 2k for a pound of outdoor.

Meanwhile places like Mantica are writing laws to make us use electricity to grow our plants and threatening arrest if you use the Sun.

God and The Devil... Rich and the Poor.. Pro and Con.. What a long strange trip this is..

So perhaps we should all keep on over-growing.. Perhaps we should start the 2012 campaign.

How about is.. Anyone ready for Cannabis2012?

The platform is Legalization and not Decriminalization on the grounds of we can't please everyone so lets start at Legal for all and work from there.

you guys realize that it is legal now right? get a med card.

voting yes on this could screw alot of med campaigns across this nation. much of the oposition to med legalization is that its a gateway to full legalization. give a chance for other states to catch up. one step at a time.

besides if you read into the issue and look past the screaming word LEGALIZATION!!!!!!!! youll see its one guy who put this thing up. this is an attempt to coopt the hard work weve done in cali and hide behind a big juicy two word phrase: legalize pot. reminds me of other instances when happy words were used as a smokescreen. patriot act ring a bell?

this is an opening for big business to move into the pot industry PERIOD. if you have issue with commercial growers now, wait until the real commercial growers set up. im fully against large illegal grows. but commercial growers now are very small time to what would exist in this state.

Your first statement is indicative of what has screwed med campaigns... we all live publicly... they see that med legalization is hurtling towards full legalization.

The industry is saying: Go get a card. Get high. It's cool.

Not really what you wanted to say, but the act of buying at a dispensary when you're not ill says the same thing.

Really.

PS I agree with much of your post. :)

Legalize? - no.

Decriminalize? - yes!

I tend to agree with this if your definition of decriminalization includes the right to GROW my own weed and do whatever the fuck I want with it. Because many of the so-called decriminalization schemes I've seen so far (Amsterdam anyone?) are half-assed and really not good for anyone. If I'm allowed to buy my weed from a dealer, but he isn't allowed to produce it and neither am I, then what's the point? The problem is the same with most legalization initiatives, since they're usually not directed towards true legalization (everyone can do anything with their weed, grow as much as you want etc etc no possession limits) but a crappy form of decriminalization.

Ok Working Haole...does your Boss make $$ from your hard work?? (Be truthful!!)
Everybody, in all lines of Business make $$....why is it that when those of us that do it....to provide others with a Product they want...do we get labeled as "Greedy"??
The way this Initiative is written, it is like Legalizing Guns...but Bullets will be Outlawed--
Here in Cali, nobody is going to jail for having less than an oz of weed anyways...so yeah, we are not worried about it too much, and many are unwilling to agree with the unreasonable limitations set in this Initiative--
I feel for all of those in States that have harsh penalties for small amounts of weed...but that doesn't mean I will vote for something that will be a permanent precedent, if I strongly disagree with the limitations--:tiphat:

That's what I was thinking! Who's family is being destroyed over one ounce in Cali? Nobody's!

poll kind of shows the greed present here. not just greed but laziness and lack of entrepreneurial spirit.

I disagree with this statement--
The Poll, IMO....shows just how distorted and unfair ppl can be--
All through this Thread, anybody who disagrees with this Initiative is labeled as being a greedy fuck!! Many of us have repeated over and over, that it has nothing to do with the $$...it is the way it is written that we disagree with...but are still bombarded with accusations of being greedy--
There should also be an option for, "I think this will hurt our Movement"

i understand that. my point was that the poll's options are both concerned with price. no other options. its all about money. this is the foundation of greed.

but i still think that if you can grow quality pot then you will get great money for it. even if you can only get 1600 per and only grow 2.5 lbs every 3 months in your 5x5; you still earn 16,000 gross. there are people who work 40 hours a week to earn that. airline pilots? anyone watch 60 minutes?

sorry to draw lines. i like money. i want more for it than that. but i think we need to have a bit of perspective.

There is one word for this bill......EVIL. It is a setup; it is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Guys this is the same strategy the government used with alcohol. Prohibit it long enough and harshly enough and the people will agree to ANYTHING just to have some semblance of freedom or "legalization". Greed? Fuck yes greed.... greedy for the TOTAL freedom to do what we will with a plant that no one owns(yet) and harms no one. We are so used to being told what we can and cannot do; what is good and what is bad......FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE, that we have become desensitized to what is TRULY right or wrong. We cannot THINK CLEARLY anymore! This bill is wrong; and it is NOT legalization. Sure we can ammend this bill later......right, only as far as they will let us! Once the government (the truly greedy!) sinks their teeth into cannabis they will never let go....they care only for their bottom line(money, power, etc) not ours.

Let the market dictate price, not government. Everything they touch turns to shit......EXPENSIVE SHIT! alcohol, tobacco.....WAY more expensive than they should be....because of government CONTROL. WE need to set the precedent, not these FUCKS.

PEOPLE, DO NOT GIVE THIS TO THEM. IT IS NOT THEIRS.
FIGHT to keep this FROM them! If not, WE will be fucked in the end.

DO TWO POLLS

1. WHAT % OF COMMERCIAL GROWERS ARE FOR THE NEW LAW?

2. WHAT % OF NON-COMMERCIAL GROWERS ARE FOR THE NEW LAW?

I predict

1. 2%

2.90%

Its not about the money they say. Hard to believe you dont care about the money when you make a living out of the business.

Cotton(among many others) industry doesnt want MJ to be used agriculturaly, hard to believe its not because of the money.

with 215, the supply of mmj

is increasing by leaps and bounds

and that isn't likely to change anytime soon.

so the price of mj, medical, or otherwise

is going to decrease

regardless of whether mj

becomes legalized in November, or not

except the dreams have now become magnified

and 20 plant grows are now 50 plant grows

in advance of November expectations

the meaning of November will likely be

that we're that much closer to legalization
