What's new

Portland

im looking for a few new things in life, and so i have been thinking about a big move in the near feature. im thinking portland or, maybe eugene, but really im leaning towards portland. i called the power company in portland the other day asking how much power i could use and how much it would cost. very sketchy. me: yo im wondering what 15,000kw all day long would cost? them: ill help you figure out what 1500kw will cost. me: no 15,000kw. them: OH..... ahh what is that for? me: indoor grow lights in a residential house. them: i would prefer if you call that a hot tub, jacuzzi, and a water heater. let me see what that would cost you.....$34 a day. me: what a great deal. and yall dont care that a residential house is using that much power? them: not at all, just get an electrician, cuz 240 lines are not going to handle that. me: right on, that all i need to know.
so power would cost about $1200 a month running 2, 10 light rooms, with a third for veg.
im thinking portland is a good idea, or somebody have a better idea. ill be trying to have the new place by july.
life is just getting way crazy, too many junkies, crazies, and other randoms in my life, gotta find a chill as spot for next year. gonna blow this shit up too, that is why there are only a few places i would consider.

If you don't mind the rain. So your means of income would be gardening? You might want to do ALL of the math. Which includes selling the product. Lb priceses are not as high as Cali or other states, so to get top dollar you might have to move the product somewhere else. We have a glut in the market right now.

pshhhhhh. i have lived in the pacific north west for 4 or 5 years now, and moving product is the last of my worries. sure i hear that portland has way high competition, but a) i dont have to do any business in portland, and b) im damn good at what i do. ill pay a kid to drive down to Sacramento if i gotta, or ill pay a kid to drive to NY if thats what looks smart, its all the same. im just sketched on getting the place, and the loan ill have to get, and whether portland is the ideal spot to have 20 grow lights in my garage.

I don't think you will need 15,000w. Just try to do several plants in huge buckets hydro-style and try to pull a few pounds off each one. One or two plants under a 1,000w and maybe you could pull a pound or so per plant. I'd just consider that too, before spending $1200/mo on electricity!! :yoinks:

what im thinking is this: get a place with plysically lots of space, 3 car garage, 4 bedrooms, something like that. start with 10 or 15 lights. about 10k for flowering though. if i get 4 or 5 grand more i would add from the start a second flip flop 10k room. or wait till the first harvest. im budgeting about 15 grand total, with a potential for another 5 needed in the first 2 months. oregon medical laws are 6 flowering, and 18 under a foot and in veg. so ya, im going to work on trees. im definitely trying to stay under a hundred plants total, but clones and small veg could be done else where. im thinking about 4 months of veg before flowering should do the trick, with weekly tie downs. this is going to be some construction work.

12000-18000 minimum for 6 months rent on a place that big in Portland. Not sure why medical limits are any concern cause you're gonna be way over the limits unless you plan to run each 10k room with only 3 mega plants.

you will need to move your product through co-ops or the black market. There are no dispensorys there. I moved from there about a year ago and there was bud everywhere. I had a hard time off loading it. I had very good product as well but so does everyone else. Good luck

You can only have 28oz of hand

thats funny because thats where ive been sending pot. im sending less quality weed up there and getting better prices then AAA in the bay area......

i was thinking about setting up a few houses up there. 6 flowering plants in mpb buckets - 12-24 lb's

I guess things have chaged then I moved from there march 14 2009 and no one had any cash. Unemployment was like 13%. Like I said if this is underground you will get better prices. I was a card holder and only used co-op's

there is a ton of growers in portland, i bet more indoor farmers per capita than anywhere.
its all about quality there because of the competition, prices have dropped A LOT
I've been take the 'best of the best' out of that area for a while and recently the prices have crashed, the growers I know are throwing shit at me like Im jerry rice and they are joe montana.
thats the advantage we have over Cali, our power is a quarter of the cost.

sounds about right. 3200 for the best shit i have seen out here, indo organic pro shit. about 2800 normally though. moving shit is definitely not high on my concerns list. ill get a fair price, and grow product that is up to standards. at most i could get a place cranking out 10 to 20 pounds a month, and as long as i get paid a bit, bills are paid, i can sit on shit till summer if i want to. tough market, but everywhere has its + and -. CA, shit, i dont got a DWI yet so there is no way i could be a local. also property rentals are way more down there.

Story Published: May 5, 2010 at 2:42 PM PDT

PORTLAND, Ore. - A Southwest Portland man faces drug possession, manufacture, distribution and money laundering charges following a series of raids Wednesday that netted millions of dollars worth of marijuana.

On Wednesday a KATU News reporter went to the Southwest Portland home of 32-year-old Jason Joseph Kalenkowitz’s, who police allege is connected to the growing of 1,000 marijuana plants in three Mount Tabor homes.

“Don’t want to talk to you, man,” said Kalenkowitz.

Police raided Kalenkowitz’s home and the three he owns near Mount Tabor. They released video of what they found inside the Mount Tabor homes: forests of marijuana plants big and small.

A tip from a suspicious neighbor two weeks ago led to the raids.

Among the bins and bags of marijuana, with a street value at their East Coast destination of over $5 million, $140,000 in cash and a handgun were also discovered.

“We get tips all the time and most of them turn out to be nothing,” said Cmdr. Dave Benson, with the Portland Police Bureau’s Drugs and Vice Division. “This turned out to be, obviously, more significant.”

Investigators said they believe Kalenkowitz, who was arrested and released under court supervision until his next court appearance, was the main player in the marijuana production.

But they add other arrests are still possible.
