just a little tidbit osram=sylvania

I dont think you can go wrong with any of the listed, but me personally id go for sylvania first then GE, then phillips.

I think i'll be going for the Osram Dulux L in flower... probably with the philips ballasts - it's really difficult to get electronic ballasts here that run more than 2 lamps.. the only one i've found is a Tridonic 3x36w.. so i'll be going for 2x Philips HFII ECGs

Right now have 2 livers (local elite) clones (as of about 3 hours ago :D) under a 25w "Ecolite" 6500k.

due to the nature of this strain and a slight change in my situation i'm changing my flower plan from HDSOG drbud style to SCROG scrubstyle under 4x36w PL-L in 1.7sqft.. im thinking 2x3000 & 2x4000k tubes for 2 plants(yes, i'll be taking a mum) in compost, plant magic OT1 nute range.. not sure on what size pot to go for but i'm thinking about 2x3 litres will be all i can get in there.. looking good doods :jump:

EDIT: omfg my 420th post is detailing today's get of my first clones.. the start of my first proper grow.. it's a SIGN

:woohoo: I got my own style, lol.

That sounds great to me Captain, and good luck. The major brand bulbs all seem pretty samey to me. as a non expert. If anything, it would be best to aim for the best ballast (high BF and PF)

The CRI isn't helpful for growing, it's just how clear things look in the light. High CRI is generally a bad thing for growing because it means there is more coating on the tube, blocking more energy. You can get pl-l cri's in the 90's but these are a poor choice - just look at their lumen and spectral output. There's a thread/poll somewhere if you search titles for CRI, and that will help explain things.

for my veg cab i like to use flouros :dance013: 50% grolux, 25% green triphospher and 25% warm white for the extra lumens. If i was to try and flower under flouros id run 100% grolux or mostly grolux and the odd warm white.

Most brands like phillips, sylvania and nelson have the tubes i need although the grolux is twice the price @$7 per 4foot tube and puts out a pink/purple hue not as bright as the warm white/ green triphospher.

Veg room... clone to mums and everything in between

if u need help on ballast u should look into a company called Advance or a company called Work Horse
They make some great electronic ballast for the 4 lamp application.
Good luck.
IMO all the lamps are the same, just make sure u get the correct colors for what u r using them for.
