looks like I'm a little late, but I'm pulling up to watch this one..really interested to see the side by side with the air pot, I have friends that rave about those things...

Update

Update

In the far back left corner...the tall fat center cola...is one of the Blueberry Bx1's that is simply insane with the resin production at this point...very dense trich field. I have my fingers crossed SOOOOO HARD this next coming week...oh, stay true you beautiful blue!

Another plant of focus right now is Chem D x NL plant #5...the one that has been all lanky thin stemmed and vine like in growth....also, not very smelly really, but a superior trichome field and an AMAZING large single stacked bubbly calyxes coming on as the dominant structure of the flowers...looking like she might want to go a bit longer than her sibling #3 which you can't really see much of...is in the very back row in the middle, directly behind her sister. #3 Seems to be a bit of a slower growing plant all around, but is trying its hardest to fill out...I am expecting this one to fill out big and fast closer towards the end of flowering...we'll have to wait and see...

Anyway...more details another time...

good aerial view, hehe. look forward to seeing the close ups Frank:)
what about the cuts...how they doin did they recover/make it?

Peace

Well, I suppose the cuts you are asking about are the ones I mentioned in the
beginning of the thread. Of that group of girls, the 2 Chem D are all that remain.

As far as what the ladies are doing...pictures were taken today...and a full update will be given.

I can say they really didn't seem to care for the molasses...they look a bit worse and worn after the treatment. I don't think I'll be doing it again...gotta a new method anyway to start utilizing in my soil mixes that will do the same thing but in a much better more controlled manner...

AND...to hype it up a bit...ehehehe....those BB Bx1 are holding true at this point and WOOOAAHH are they some frosty ladies!!!

Frank what kind/form is the molasses your using?
i always have great results from BIOBIZZ GROW(molasses)
and i also use Sucanut(raw sugar/edible crystalised molasses)

the BIOGROW has very small amounts of food, and is safe to use with every watering, i actualy tested it out once, lol. But i don't give it to them with every watering of coarse.
I don't work for BIOBIZZ in case this sounds like an advertisement, lol, i just love their true organic products.

and whats your secret contigency plan anyways, spill it!

Right on. Currently using grandma black strap at about 1 tbsp per gallon and then shaking really good...letting sit for 24hrs. and then water with it during the 4th week and sometimes the 6th. But I don't think I'll be doing it again this round. Plants seemed happier with out it.

I'm looking into adding dry molasses aka cattle carbs and mixing it in the soil....after looking around for a long time...I finally found a place that carries it. I figure why feed the microbes only at one time...rather give them what is essentially what is molasses meal...

Well i guess you should definately go with how your girls react to determine what works best for you...and i agree one two times is not enough.
from my little understaning of biology i know that all life needs sugars its energy, and cells can't do much without it. Not only the microbes benefit but the plant directly benefits aswell:) photosynthesis produces sugars sure, but they can always use a boost specialy when u want them to perform at max. I firmly believe my girls get trich'd out partialy cause all the sugars i give em...brix production or somethin like that, lol

but most of all is to listenin to your girls, like you are doing:)

Look forward to the update, frank! In the mean time just wanted to chime in on the molasses if ya don't mind. You said you let it sit for 24 hrs and then give to the plants during week 4? What makes ya let it sit? I've always been under the impression it's to be stirred at the minimum, aerated if possible. Could that perhaps have contributed to its poor reception from the ladies? Just curious.

What about the BSM makes ya think the ladies didn't dig it? Just curious as to what signs might shop up if they're not liking it so I know what to look for. I've had some experience w/it leading to higher availability of N which lead to some serious leaf claw with a couple Afghans. Luckily, an organic guru pointed out to me that BSM encourages development of a particular kind of bacteria that essentially only breaks down into available N. So in flowering too much BSM on top of a guano with some N in it (at the time I was using a 12-12-2) can be providing a bit more than necessary.

Frank have you ever thought about using Sugar Cane Natural instead of molasses? I 've also wondered if agave nectar would accomplish the same thing?? I have never noticed an adverse reaction to the addition of the molasses myself, interesting..

ya i dont have exp with Black Strap, but most products i use say "must be used within 15 mins"...

if it is so that the product is fully dissolved(wich is very important), i warm up my water, not too warm... just to room temp.
