Thank you kindly, OMMP. The sun has been out for 3 or 4 days now... we're looking at some possible showers early next week, but hopefully it will all be minor. I am just waiting for the right moment to put the first round in the ground.

I am waiting for my neighbor who works a lot of nights to have his daytime shifts so I can start pounding t-stakes in for the Garden B fence. I don't want to do it on a day that he's sleeping.

Wish I had Butte's Sun-Eye contraption to tell me what i would gain by losing one of the trees.

All my Blue Dream and Clueberry will be in the ground on or before the 15th. Pineapple cough will go into the A Garden at the same time (with Supplemental light) and into the B garden (natural light only) a week later. Everything that's going into the black box will come out of the greenhouse around the 15th as well.

and if you want more detailed...

1 cubic ft. is 6.43g so 6.5g

Bags of potting soil that come in 40# bags are usually 1 cubic foot....some mixed soils (like FFOF) and others usually come in 1.5cf bags....or roughly 10g of medium...

RESPECT!

Always like to see those that take into consideration ALL factors of their environment...and all the media wants to makes us look like is the riff raff of the neighborhood and a nuisance to society...hmmmm...whatever.

I have a question for you gentlemen.

This is my first outdoor grow, and first time in a climate/area such as norcal, so im unfam. with the plant size and light schedule.

First question is when does the seasonal light schedule change to summer-veg light? I am outside the Chico, CA area. A local has told me May 15. But i wanted to double check with some pros ;)

Second question is if i have clones (not large) that have been rooted for only 5 or 6 days, and i veg them until the light schedule is in summer-veg-time (may 15?) and throw them outside in 100 gallon smart pots. (Blue Dream Strain) will they still be able to get big enough to produce a few lbs? If all of the other conditioning is done well of course. I have 20 larger ladies that are 4 feet im throwing outside, but i wanted to throw 10 more little clones and just wanted to know if i can expect good things from May 1st-Oct/Nov plantlife. Thanks for your time guys

Last year an 8" Blue Dream cut that was put in a 200 gallon smart pot on May 27th yielded close to 5 pounds. A homegirl of mine put a 3 foot tall Blue Dream into a 100 gallon pot a week earlier and got almost 4 pounds. You should be alright on May 15th with the Dream. I will be keeping some supplemental light on the ones I can for a week or so after the 15th, but its not a train I am worried about. Many of my friends put BD out on the 15th last year and had no problems with early flowering. I had some problems like this, but not with Blue Dream.

You may want to try putting the BD cuttings directly into soil in a 3.5" durapot. I had pretty good success with this method and once I put a heating mat into the equation, they did very well. Timewise, it took the same as rooting in an oasis cube, but when it was transplanted into a 2 gallon, it exploded faster than a cutting that had been started in an oasis cube. I might even try putting them directly (or from an aerocloner until the first signs of roots show) into 2 gallon pots. I might just set those 2 gallons on top of the 100's in the sun. Dunno... you will probably have good success with any method... the Blue Dream is easy stuff. Good opportunity to do a little experiment.

Let me know how it goes.

Good to hear from you esbe... one of these days I'll get around to messing with some of your gear. I would have liked to rock some seeds this year, but its just didn;t work out like that. Thanks for the growwishes, my friend.

I went to see my good friends, some of the finest growers I know, and the general concensus is that my Blue Dream plants are going to be too big for my 10 ft on center spacing... I am going for fully rounded plants with no competition for sunlight... They are afraid that my 5 foot tall Dreams will crowd the spacing I have available... I am going to trade back some smaller dreams that I gave away for some of my bigger ones... I am also going to try and increase the spacing as much as possible.

I have a very respectful relationship with my next door neighbors one of whom is a former Sheriff's deputy. Their kids go to school with mine. I don't make big messes, a bunch of noise or put a burden on a shared water supply, or any of the other things that usually cause problems between neighbors. As far as they are concerned, we're fine enough folks to drive their kids to school when they need a hand. I wouldn't let just anybiody drive my kids to school and I suspect that if they had serious issues with us as growers, they wouldn't let that happen.

Being a good neighbor should have nothing to do with whether or not you're growing pot in your backyard. I could choose to be pissed off about the flies and horseshit smell from his stable right on the other side of the fence, but I choose to not let it bother me, like I hope my growing on this side of the fence does not bother him.

I'd be putting that horseshit to use! Does he need his stalls mucked out? Might score ya some more points...:)

I got a lot of the manure I used in last year's veggie garden from him. U don;t need to muck anything out... every heavy rain and a fresh layer of poop washes over my whole yard. My topsoil is rich rich rich. I could just mine into his property and get a bunch of really old really well comp[osted stuff... his property at that spot is about 2 feet higher than mine at the same spot on the fence.... pretty sure 1.5 of the 2 feet is many years of manure.

Cut the bottoms outta those lazy-man smartpots then!!! That'll give them Dreams some root space....:biggrin::biggrin:
