Silver?

Just curious if you guys knew anything about the potential benefits of using silver. Met this guy at a coffee shop and he was telling me about his additive for organic growing... http://www.thundergro.com/gro/ ... ingredients are .004% Pyrophyillic Clay, .006% Humic/Fulvic Acids, and .002% "silver". The dosage recommendations are pretty insane too, 2 TBS / 10 gallons, then somewhere else he recommends starting at 1/4 TSP / 10 gallons and working up. Sounds just like a general plant tonic, and I'm sure it's a decent micro-catalyst at best, but I couldn't find anything about silver use in agriculture. He showed me side by sides on his cell phone of the asapargus on the website as well as several other crops, and it looked impressive but who knows. Peace.

I haven't read about any type of silver but the .006% Humic/Fulvic Acids are known to do a plant good..

We gardeners use colloidal silver to cause male flowers to form on female plants.

Does it talk about what type of silver? Silver oxide or ???

Edit!

LOL! Patent medicine for growing plants...

That's funny!

I do believe in the Quantum-ness of existance and that all things are connected but, that is just a weak solution of Humic/Fulvic Acids for $20..

Thanks for the moment

Now, I've used Pyrophyillic Clay in the past for the silica content, but I've never heard of that um. . very interesting marketing before.

Pyrophyillic Clay seems to work alright, not great, but there was a noticeable difference. Honestly I don't know if that would be considered an organic amendment however.

Pyrophyillic Clay

RE: Pyrophyillic Clay

There is a post by either CT Guy or Microbeman about using Pyrophyillic Clay in aerated compost teas to facilitate fungai growth in the tea. I don't remember the exact amount that he mentioned but the post is on one of the compost tea threads.

Not sure about adding it to a soil mix - perhaps he could weigh-in on the subject.

Pretty easy to get at pottery supply outfits.

Came across this thread and had to comment here...
I am very familiar with THUNDERgro, I have been using it for going on four years and know that there is nothing else even close to it on the market.
The distinction that Thundergro enjoys is not the materials that the components in the formula are made from, but rather the way the formula is vibrating.
That is to say, the minerals (which come from an exclusively controlled mine) are filled with HIGH SPIN STATE MONATOMIC ELEMENTS. These monatomics share an enormous amount of charge down to their corresponding gross matter elements and cause them to become more bioavailable to plant uptake. The silver in the formula in IONIC, and charged with a vibrational signature that is very good for plant growth. This formula is making use of PHYSICS, rather than using a chemical approach to get physics processes to happen.
This formula is WAYYYY more than weak humate solution.

The HUMATES are good for plant growth, but the main reason it is in the Thundergro formula is because the monatomics LOVE humates, it helps the formula hold full potency for as long as possible.

I'm sorry, but what are the other 98.8% of the ingredients? You can post all the testimonials in the world, but I'm still not giving you my credit card info....

I went to their web site and read BOTH 'testimonials' and I'm convinced. I ordered 4 quarts and I'm ready to really see an explosive difference in my plants.

Damn! THUNDERGro looks like the bomb! All I need now are some real genetics like a 'kush cutting' and get off this bagweed seeds I'm stuck with!

I've just gotta get my head out of my ass on this MMJ deal and this product may well be the 'holy blessing' I've been looking for!

You guys crack me up! I suppose we could be nicer, I know I started it....

Here's my thing. I'd be happy to discuss the merits of adding silver in an ionic form and it's effects on plant growth (though sadly I claim complete ignorance), but to list a product as your very first post. C'mon man, stick around for a while. Make 50-100 posts or discuss silver separate from a commercial product, and then we can talk about specific products.

Fair enough? No hard feelings?

And frankly, no offense intended, but a website that has 2 short testimonials, a couple of pictures, and very little real info. is not going to fly in this forum. People here are tried and true do-it-yourselfers, so if you do list a product, you'll need to back it up with some serious science.

Hope that helps! :)

CT

PS: Capt. Cheeze, if there was ever a forum I had to list my paypal info. in, this would be my last choice. A bunch of stoners in front of a computer and high? How much food do you think they could charge? Every pizza joint in town would be posting record online sales!

Wasn't me....maybe MM. Might be worth playing around with if it's a cheap and readily available ingredient.

How far out of Portland are you anyway? I'm going to be down next month for a volleyball tournament and sticking around to do a bit of microscope work on the side. We could take a look at a few things since I'll have the microscope if you're not too far away!
