pretty simple bro just measure n drill a hole on metal end of cooltube attach a 'L' bracket
to socket and tube simple as that I use a cooltube with a mh ushio n hps ushio works lovely !!!
Interesting. I know they make like 30" tubes for 2 bulbs....
Those two that close together aren't going to.. hurt anything is it? I'm asking because I was considering doing the same thing. Those bulbs are basically touching. So far so good, I take it.
What about light loss? I know you lose a bit of light in 8" air cooled reflectors as opposed to 6" just because more of the light goes out the vent hole. Usually cool tubes are mounted so the bulbs are more or less in the middle preventing this loss.
Always wondered if it was of any significance or not.
Another thing I'd do is flip the orientation around. HPS above the MH.
I mounted the socket to the center a round 8" end cap. I cut out two half moons, leaving about a 2.5" strip of metal in the middle. This strip is what i mounted the cordset to
Once i finished, I was afraid the bulbs would be too close (I used a sunleaves socket cordset, which is longer than most).
And i was unsure of mounting the bulb 'socket down'.
Your picture addresses my concerns. thank you very much.
Do you have a 6" or 8" tube, Ive got the 8" (and mixed spectrum).
