Just got back from the hydro store - man I feel like that guy in there is a good friend now haha been in there so much!
I got another 25' roll of sunleaves premium ducting. We are making our ducting light traps. We spray painted the inside of the ducting black, then made it into an S shape with cardboard support sheets. We then firmly duct taped the outside for support.
It should work real well and will vent right up into the attic and then outside :)
Should work well!
Should have a ton of pics up late today. Lots of work = some delay on pics woops!

Fuck guys I'm sorry..
Pics didn't send through the email so i can't upload them yet.
When I do we'll have TONS!
Right now EVERYTHING is setup and the seeds are in root cubes under a "tent" for increased humidity and temperature.

Sounds like Dr. Frankenstien is hard at work. Can't wait to see your set-up with the DR150. I have to utilize a portable a/c that I have rigged to blow right into the tent to cool my 800W in the DR100. Unfortunatly I am in a very hot location so a/c was my only option. Lookin forward to some pics bro. :smokeit:

Ya, how much did you pay for a portable a/c?
Figuring it might be nice to have one of those in the future. I'd like to go cheap used but works well haha I don't want to cool the whole house down, just my tent :)
It seems to be working really well though, temp has stabilized around 80.
Pretty damn hard to get humidity up though, im using that spray bottle like its my new forearm workout!!

Alright guys
FINALLY the update is here:
Basically we have EVERYTHING up and running. Everything we have bought and researched is installed and working well.
We have one big problem though.. Heat :/
Our fucking ducting (scuse the language) is ripping every couple of hours. Now we can't be at the grow tent all the time so it just vents the hot air right back into the tent. We are using $1 a foot ducting from sunleaves. Shouldnt this stuff be quality? Its AWFUL! Our poor seeds are going from 75 F to 96F changes the past couple hours. Hopefully this doesn't affect the results.

We also have a Sunleaves(Coincidence?) Hygro-Thermometer that is causing problems. This thing seems to read temperatures very well and I really like the "outside" remote for putting right w/ the plants. Our humidity though is always between 20% and 30% and we are spraying a ton of water into the air. The floor has small little puddles and droplits but the light evaporates it very quickly. You stick your head into the tent and it feels like you come out crying its so humid.. Is that other Sunleaves product broken too?

Below are pictures of our general setup.
Everything is working well (we even sealed the hood with aluminum foil tape) and venting great except for the damn ducting.

If wanted I can go back and label stuff. it should be pretty self explanatory though.

Im having problems with the photos.. Will upload later. I have so many! They are all uploaded so I'll get them up tomorrow. sorry again for the delay

So the fucking ducting ripped AGAIN last night. Sorry for the language but we're getting pissed. We now have more duct tape ducting then real ducting (in around a 24 hour period) so we are taking this "premium" sunleaves ducting back to the hydro store today. he is exchanging it for us for some "better" ducting. Hope it works!

My question of the day: Our temps have gotten really high the past night and work day when we couldn't be at the tent. There were a couple highs of 95 the other day and last night there was a high of 107! Thats really really hot! Our seeds were in the tent germinating at this time. Will they be greatly affected? As soon as we got up we turned the whole setup (except the fans) off and opened a window more. Really hope this doesn't kill or stunt the plants.

Okay guys..
I feel like we've had as many possible problems go wrong as we could have.
We now have NEW ducting, a NEW fan, and just bought a 5000 btu in window air conditioner to hopefully help with our heat problems. The temps are still going high but the air conditioner hasn't been on long.

I finally have the pics ready. It shows most of our setup although a few things have been updated between the pics and now. The ducting is different too.

If you guys could help me with any answers or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!
Our biggest problem is heat.. We can't understand how we are getting so hot

Hey, wow you've got things all up and running already. Congrats!

Seeds don't need 1000 Watts of light they will do fine with like a 20 Watt CFL for now. In fact it's way too much for them right now!

Keeping high humidity will be impossible now but this will become easier when you have a bunch of big plants in there all evaporating moisture...

92.2F is really high temps I agree especially as your ambient temps only seem to be 75F(?) but did you measure that in the shade or in direct light?

These are the temps inside the tent. I have a little remote thing that came iwth my hydrometer. I am somewhat skeptical of the accuracy of this product though. its a sunleaves hydrometer/thermometer but its RH values have been off from what it feels like inside the temp (saying its 25% when clearly its alot higher from our sprayers.

Should I turn the big light off then? I have a tiny little light but I don't want to setup a whole other CFL setup. I can see what my friend has (he has a little shit grow lamp that will work for seedlings).

The temps also got up to around 105 last night ahhh!
The ducting broke in two places and the place got hot quick I think..
Will these seeds survive? its been two days or so and no green at all. We are keeping things moist etc though.

I wish we had waited to make sure the ducting would hold overnight.. Live and learn I guess.

This is my first go around but this is what I gleamed from "dialing in" my set-up. I can run my 180W of T5's with only using a small 6" fan inside the tent and my 4" Vortex exhaust/carbon filter set. Once I turn on my HID's I had to utilitze and A/C unit. I rigged a fitting around the A/C and pump the air straight into the tent via one of the 6" exhaust port. I keep all other ports/vents closed. Filter fan runs whenever the A/C kicks on. Doing this I am able to keep temps in the mid 70's constantly. The lights are crazy bright though. I have the "Growzilla" dual lamp reflector a/c'd. I can put my hand on the glass with no discomfort but I have to have an A/C to cool the tent. Go figure..

I use the P.O.S. ducting from Lowe's, no problems with it ripping. I'm sure insulated ducting would be a hell of a lot more effecient and eaiser to cool the tent.

I hope your little babies hang in there bro, put them under some floro's till you get back up n' running. :canabis:

It was well over 100 degrees when I got my seeds in the mail so I think you will be fine. For the seeds you could just use a CFL bulb and a desk lamp to get them sprouted. Looking good man, very clean.

Okay thanks a ton guys!
Im not quite sure how to hook up the A/C right into the intake. I could make a makeshift
"cover" to attach the ducting right to the exhaust on the A/C. Would that work? I have it right now so that the A/C is blowing into the intake fan which blows into the ducting. The fan is on the ground where the cold air should be..
I can't tell if Im getting misreadings from my Thermometer either or not. Its pretty annoying.

I rigged a "make-shift" cover from the a/c unit to 6" ducting, then ran the ducting into the tent. I used thick tarp cut up and a shit load of aluminium tape. Man I love aluminum tape! The cover is really wide and then funnels into the ducting, I did this to try to decrease the sp and load on the unit. I orginally ran it with 4" ducting and it was way to much sp, the thing barely moved any cold air. Increasing to 6" made a world of difference, with the 4" ducting I couldn't get my temps below 88. Now I can get it into the upper 60's. I also bought 2 inside/outside temp meters and even though they are both exactly in the same spot they read 5 degrees off, rh is spot on between the two but not the temp. I have the 6" 3-speed on the floor under and 2 of the Air King Clip-ons at reflector level aimed right at it.

Ya, I think we're going to try to rig up some cover similar to our exhaust setup haha.
That aluminum tape is definetly the best! it molds to fit anything!
We'll try to work on that today and let ya know how things go.. Hope to see some green soon from the seedlings. Its making us both very stressed ha

Wooo! I guess my buddy checked the root cubes last night. The two he checked had cracked the seeds and were starting to come up. Hopefully we see some green above the surface today or tomorrow!
Will have new pics when that happens showing the A/C, new fan, new ducting, etc.

Thanks for all the help and encouragement so far.

I'm wondering if I can get this moved to the indoor soil section. I feel that I will get alot more help with my questions there. After I finish this grow I would love to move it to the Grow Diaries section. Any help with this mods/admins? If its not possible, thats cool too

I had to leave the door to my closet open due to heat issue but that burned plant should make it, mine did, just topped by default and grew into two plants...
