"We are all individuals rather you work for or own a business (most of us do)."

No (most of us dont).

But as I read your politics it became very clear that you do and what your political views are set up to protect.

Ive noticed that anytime anything is given to the workers the people that run the businesses get upset about it.And to be honest it seems to be the small businesses that get the most upset about it.I guess the farther down the foodchain you get the more vicious you have to be to hang on to what you have.
Another atittude I often notice when dealing with politics is the older people feel a need to make the younger "earn" whatever they can get.Allways talking about how easy they have it now when in truth we now that is a load of B.S..Things are harder now.And what generation was it that dropped the ball anyway?

Just like anything else the only way we will find a political system that works for everybody is to somehow not think all of our petty greed into it.But who the hell knows if that is actually posible.

You ever see one of those documentarys about one of those lost citys in south america or somewhere and the town looks like everybody just got up and left?Alot of these have no mention in history on what happened to them. They just disapeared.

Sometimes it makes you wonder.

And sorry about my spelling.

This isnt a socialist country yet. Most people work for private business or own private businesses. Yes there are tons of govt workers but most of us arent ... except the leos that patrol here of course.

Well the problem is very simple- Democracy. Period. When you give the right to 51% of the population to take control over the other 49% just because of a majority, freedom has failed. That is why Oaksterdamn is trying to take over- they got the money and they know the general public will overlook "semantics" for a bigger picture.

Sadly, though I hope Texas comes around one of these days, I think it would take nationalized mmj for tx to get in on at and at that point they probably threaten succession. lol. I lived there my whole life and lobbied (beat my head against the wall) longer than I'd like to admit before coming to my senses and moving to a state where I can use my medicine legally.

I stand by that comment. Most people either work for or own a business. The only alternative is that goverment is the majority employer and of course its not ... atleast not yet. So if that statement is wrong please explain because last I checked small business was still the largest single employer group. That would mean they have the most employees.

Im protecting what? My business has nothing to do with cannabis i grow for my own personal use. Im simply stating my opinions and clarifying things as understood by me. Greed is a easy word to toss out and take shots at. Greed led to many great things ...Charity is also a great thing. How many people believe bill gates is 'greedy' yet the man has given away more than most of us will ever earn in our lifetimes. Through his greed he has been able to give great charity... funny the circle we live in.

i need to get my ass to austin :D
unfortunately, that is where they are putting the first smart meters

Id rather have people who worked there ass off to accel have more influence than goverment employees.
Thank Goodness I am not alone in that thought. This is an interesting thread in a place I did not think I would find a thread of this nature. I am a Texas Conservative (except for the grass smoking part). There is room for improvement but our state is actually fairly healthy. Sadly, I see our state moving toward the Left and it is going to wind up just like California, probably worse. I expect us to go through one or two more election cycles and then we will be offically a Left leaning state. As Conservatives flee the big cities and Liberals flee their state due to economics they move to the big cities and amazingly they continue to vote to the Left even though they just fled a Liberal state

Just my 2¢
