Hey there guys and gals, bit of a concern over my seedlings......i purchased 15 DP Blueberry, 5 Fantaseeds JH and 5 Barneys Farm Blue Cheese spending 250 hard earned in the process. I germed em and all 25 popped, awesome!! Plugged em all in root riot cubes and put them in a dark box for 48 hours.......ALL of em sprouted....i'm a lucky bugger obviously but what worries me is that all of em have yellow cotelydons.......normally i get GREEN straight away, am i missing something???

Hey Buddy,
Things look fine man, yellowing in the Cotyledon stage, when they very first pop up is completely normal. My only advise is you need to get your light closer, judging by how your seedlings are really stretching like that,it may help some. what lighting are you using? i find cotton buds(cotton removed) work well as stakes, just cut down the centre of the stem of the cotton bud about 10mm to make a V, sorted! good Luck man looking good!
Peace.........Scroger! ;)

Loving the JH twin mutation btw, looks mad as man!is that from just one seed? weird if it is, ive never seen anything like that before?Cool!

Yeah man, from one seed, i've seen it happen before on here but never 1st hand, you're right its crazy, hope they both grow nice and healthy....IME the weird ones are normally the best pheno's.

I've put em in my tent under a 600w MH but with a bit of shade so its not direct light, soon they are all showing green they will be potted and put under direct light about 20" away. I've got a lamp that says its a digital, does that mean i can swap to a HPS bulb during flowering?

With Digi's your restricting what lamps you can use, i dont think you can run things like growlux and the like, straight HPS only, like Son-t! i may be wrong, but thats how i took it & it has put me right off buying a lumitec or any digi for that! Can anyone else shed some light on that little problem with Digi Ballest's!???

I can't comment on anything besides EYE hortilux hps in digis. They work fine.

Dude why would you put them in a dark box for 48 hrs?? Plants need light to live and starting them in the dark, as you can tell, makes em stretch and no photosynthesis to begin the life cycle.

I presumed he is talking about germinating his beans man, which of course needs to be in a 'dark' warm place/box. they've come up n he's put his light on, i think thats what he saying!
T-Type, Yeah eye hort HPS, as far as i am aware you are limited to what lamps you can run with a Digi ballest. HPS only ie- Son & Son-T etc, Growlux are full or spectrum adjusted & cant be run in a Digi Ballest, i wasnt very happy about that when i found out as i really wanted a digi one!
