i just orderd 140 grams of BTI DWC off ebay to combat those fuckers.

I've had them bad before and they are just so prolific that they need to be dealt with seriously when you first notice them.

If you let them get established it will take the life out of your plants and weeks to get them under control.

I started with 5 grams a gallon of Gnatrol WDG every watering for two weeks, in coco I water every day or two. After that, 2 grams/gal every other watering.

The table farther into flower started drinking again and production picked up, and the new groups coming from veg are pest free and staying that way.


The 16lb. bucket was worth every penny, especially compared to what they cost me over the last three months.

a gym sock full of DE (dust mask essential), lightly beat against the floor and/or walls will effectively spread DE everywhere. DE dries up the insects waxy outer layer, killing them, it will also zap the moisture/oils outta your hands, Id wear gloves too.

The DE doesn't dry up their outer waxy layer. The silica acts as little razors and cuts and slices them open and then dries them up.

Yeah, JJ is right. DE is like crawling across a desert of crushed glass.


But I gotta say, apply Mosquito Dunks and you will never GET fungus gnats in the first place!

hot shot pest strips. i put one in my room at the first sign of any pest. 2 days later i remove it and everything is dead. Of course not the last few weeks near harvest.
$7 no pest at all period.

I have also top-dressed with Limestone sand, which is basically coarser Dolomitic Lime. Helps slowly balance PH while adding an infestation barrier.

I've been using the mosquito dunks in my res for a long time. Maybe they develop resistance to it, but there hasn't been a watering that didn't have the dunks in it, and I still have many many gnats.

I'm going to try some DE mixed with water in a sprayer and spray my pots, coco, and catch trays and see if this doesn't help.

I think I read somewhere on the mesquiteo dunk package that it was a BTH strain or something not the BI strain you buy in gnatrol specifically for fungus gnats? I dunno, but the both use a different strain.

Ooow you got me HARD. BURN! OUCH! My listed mode of death was slightly incorrect, results the exact same.
