If anyone is interested I have an Analysis from Atami about the contents of there Coco right out of the bag. I spoke with Dave, the North American Rep and he sent me a copy of it. Only problem is I cannot upload it to here. But here is the info. He says you can use it right out of the Bag. I have never used it, but thought this info might be of use to some people.

A long time ago I tested B'cuzz and Canna runoff and both basically had no increase in PPM or change in PH.

I bought a bag of B'cuzz recently and it had light spreckles of a white substance all through it. It did not seem to dilute with water either, at least not instantly.

Maybe this is some of the ferts they add.

I will pour some PH'd water through some B'cuzz and test the runoff and report back.

O.K. I just transplanted from 3 inch pots of B'cuzz(clones) to 1.5 gallon straight from the bag. After the second watering/feeding at 1.6 E.C my run off was 3.17.:yoinks:
Could be that the three inch pots had accumulated a bit of salts but sure was surprised! P.H. raised from 5.7 in to 6.2 out.
Will be flushing at .7-.8 E.C. tomorrow.
Clones were in three inch for 3-4 weeks but I was feeding around .5-.75 On a good note plants look great, but for how long?
Anyway thanks for the info! I was going to try to get that same info myself. saved me some time.
I will stick with B'cuzz even if it is a bit pricey compared to bricks cause I'm too lazy to rinse those things.

IDK off hand, and if it works it works, but that seems very high for Sodium (Na)

This is interesting. I think some of the nutes bind to the coco on certain brands.

I just tested the runoff of some clones I put in 4" pots with Canna coco 750ppm IN, and got 600ppm runoff, so I assume the coco is taking some of those ppms. When I go from the ez cloner to the pots of canna coco I sometimes initially get what looks like cal-mag deficiency that goes away, but the first few days some of the clones show it. I always use coco right out of the bag, no pre wetting or feeding.

If B'cuzz is pre charged with nutes the clones probably would take faster. I will test the B'cuzz runoff tonight when my lights go on and I can go in the room.

i have since installed a pulsed interval watering system and don't get any symptoms at all.

the b'cuzz coco is pretreated and if you have ever opened a bag yourself you noticed that it is moist. in fact you can squeeze a handful and water will show between your fingers but there will be no drip off.

i believe the manufacturer knows about how long this stuff is usually in the bag before it is sold and this treatment is helping to resolve the cation exchange issue. it may or may not be fully resolved by the time you get it.

without the moisture content there would be no reaction between the coco fiber and the nutrients.

the Na content shown by shroomdr of 35 ppm is right at the danger point of 40 ppm so i rinse the hell out of it anyway in an attempt to drive down the sodium level. i don't know if it works or not but i feel better trying.

then i've been retreating it with nutes until the run off and input ec are nearly equal.

hope this helps, d9

I've always used it right out of the bag with no rinsing and never had a problem, I do initially water it till runoff in my hempy's so perhaps that took care of some of the sodium
