CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A dog that attacked two Chattanooga police cars has been sentenced to obedience and canine good citizen classes.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports Winston, a mixed-breed, will also have to wear a tag that says he is "potentially dangerous."

The newspaper says a judge ruled Thursday that charges against the Winston's owner will be dismissed if the classes are successfully completed.

Owner Nancy Emerling had been given a citation for Winston being a "potentially dangerous dog."

Emerling previously said Winston got out of a fenced-in area at a welding shop March 14.

By the time staffers from McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center captured Winston, he had chewed two tires and the entire front bumper off a patrol car.

My pure rednose bitch just started her period tonite. This is my first puppy and we won't be getting her fixed, I'm wondering if anyone knows how long periods usually last and how often they occur. I'm at the store right now picking up some bitch daipers.

Have fun ~10-14 days depending on the dog. Some dogs are worse than others I just finished sitting a staffie who went through one while she was here. SUPER light, and relatively quick.

I have a lab mix that before she was fixed, used to EXPLODE. I caught 2 strays with her last heat.

I had a male razors edge a few years back. He was from the North East and was "grandson" to Knuckles. Thought I was getting a show quality dog, he turned out to be a tard... We just rescue now. Gorgeous lookin litte btw

I beg to differ ... like people ... some dogs are stupid. Here's an example offered from friends in the heart of the south. Some pics from a recent visit. Both these animals are absolutely as cool as Icebergs normally ... but when they see each other It's ON. Dixie a mean mother bully with a heart of gold. Likes to chase cats. She's only "caught" 1 that is known about and wished she hadn't (it actually hunts her) ... now enter Sheba ... mean mother Siamese hybrid with an attitude ... a full 1/10th the size and weight of her "prey" ... Now I ask the fine people at IC Mag ... who do you think wins their epic battles? If you had been handed your ass and face by an opponent time and time again would you be a little stupid to continue the struggle?

youre right lloyd.... punish the DEED NOT THE BREED!any dog can attack or bite some one... and in some cases it's not even the dogs fault.... people tease and beat on their dogs and wonder why it turns on them.... duh!!!!!???? and they say a german shepard, lab or godlen retriever are more likely to bite a child because they get annoyed a lot quicker and don't tolerate being picked at, whereas pitbull will allow a child to play with its ears, tail and be poked at and they'll just be happy they have a someone to play with. my pit Rocky has had kids sit on his head and he's happier then a pig in shit lol. they will put u with alot, and they will love you no matter what... unless you abuse them, if not they will be loyal till the day they die... and some people take advantage that they are so loyal and use them to attack people on purpose... it's sooo stupid.....

i have 4 kids from 5 to 9 that aggrevate the hell out of our pittys and they tolerate whatever they do to them reguardless along with they protect them and stay beside my kids more then anyone else after they get home from school my kids are number one to my whole pack then us adults 2nd and i love it also my whole kennel gets along with other dogs cats animals(gerbils) and ppl ...onlyw ay to get a stir is to show aggression torwards kids me or the wife then they just bark and playbite warning u i dont really wanna bite u but i will if i need to

heres diesel the house protector. he is game bred dog and thats the kind of blodd line i was looking for in a true american pit bull terrier... slender, tall, and athletic, not fat bold legged and retarded looking. these weird bold legged dogs that sit 10" off the ground and weigh100+ lbs are abominations to the true lineage... they are not even APBT in my book, just some kind of weird mutts that are bred to staffordshire bull terriers and mastiffs to get the "bully" look... Id say a bully is more of an american bandogge mastiff than an APBT.

pitbull is american pit bull terrier, staffy is american staffordshire terrier, and staffordshire bull terrier is the breed that razors edge came out and said they were breeding their apbt with as well as neopolitan mastifs and bull mastifs to get the size. there were a few other kennels that actually got caught doing this, and simple google search will show you what i mean. i know my breeds good sir, it is you that i doubt understands the breeds. my dog is full game blood apbt if you even understand what a game bred dog is, or even that apbt stands for american pit bull terrier. the exact same thing as pitt or pitbull.... am staff is a different yet similar breed that is accepted by akc... apbt is not accepted by akc. bullies are extreme almost to the point that they are mutts and results of bad inbreeding and line breeding. ive seen this same trend in akc am staffs as well, which is a shame.

where exactly did i ever say a staffy is a pitt or apbt? pitt and apbt is the exact same thing. just a short slang word for american pitbull terrier. i never even mentioned an american staffordshire terrier in my post!? if you are talking about staffordshire bull terrier than you need to check out what a staffy bull is compared to a am staff. i am hating on the bullies which are registered as APBT... they do not follow proper confirmation of APBT breed and nowadays are mainly mutts bred to staffordshire bull terriers which is not an am. staff like you are talking about. many kennels have been caught doing this and defrauding the kennel clubs using dead dogs papers and claiming more pups than their litters to get mutts papered. its not a secret.
