Is it Nathans? Or is there something else i'm missing? I have to say i dont remember ever trying a hebrew national. I'm talking mass produced, big companies here, not your small local shack.

looks like there are a few other threads, but never one exactly like this

I think Nathan's is preservative free right? Uncured? That probably makes it a tad healthier if they are the ones I'm thinking of..but I never thought they were that much better than the Hebrew Nationals which are ok.
I recently had some "Angus Beef" hotdogs by Ballpark I believe that were pretty darn good for meat, and they were on sale.

I prefer chili dogs usually tho, and nothing beats a chili dog with cheddar, avocado, vegetarian chili and those smart dogs links, your body actually thanks you when you're done, unlike hotdogs that aren't so light sometimes..I don't like them so much plain, but with chili, they are great!

Thanx Resin. I had the mayor dog a month ago at Pink's . It was good but I paid for it the next day:hotbounce. I used to live down the block from Cupid's in canoga park right next to Daglas burgers.

It's Nathan's Famous hands down bro.......
The original Nathan's Coney Island Dog stand: Since 1916

Here's 3 done the right way, grilled hard w/toasted buns.......

Nathan’s Famous was founded by a Polish immigrant, Nathan Handwerker, and his is truly an authentic “only in America story.” He started his business in 1916 with a small hot dog stand in Coney Island, New York. He sold hot dogs that were manufactured based on a recipe developed by his wife, Ida.

In the over 90 years that have passed since opening day, Nathan’s has gained worldwide recognition for the unequaled quality and taste of its product. Today, Nathan’s has gained reputation for being among the highest quality hot dogs in the world.

Nathan’s popularity was almost instantaneous, and in its earliest days had legendary characters such as Al Capone, Eddie Cantor, Jimmy Durante, and Cary Grant as regular customers. It gained its first international exposure when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt served Nathan’s Famous hot dogs to the King and Queen of England in 1939. Later, Roosevelt had Nathan’s hot dogs sent to Yalta when he met with Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin. Years later, Nelson Rockefeller, Governor of New York, stated that, “No man can hope to be elected in his state without being photographed eating a hot dog at Nathan’s Famous.

Politicians, show-business personalities, and sports celebrities are often seen and photographed munching Nathan’s dogs, and heard singing its praises. Barbra Streisand, actually had Nathan’s hot dogs delivered to London, England for a private party. A trip to Nathan’s was the focus of a Seinfeld episode created by comedian Jerry Seinfeld. More recently, the ex-mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani declared Nathan’s the “World’s best hot dog.” Shortly after that, Nathan Handwerker was named to the city’s top 100- joining the ranks of Joe Namath, Irving Berlin, Andrew Carnegie, Joe DiMaggio and others. Even Jacqueline Kennedy loved Nathan’s dogs, and served them at the White House. In his final last will and testament, actor Walter Mathau requested Nathan’s hot dogs to be served at his funeral – they were! The point is Nathan’s is not just a hot dog, it has history and it is Americana!

Last year there were over 360 million Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs sold! Today, Nathan’s is sold and enjoyed in all 50 States and sold at over 20,000 food service and retail outlets.

Warning:
Do not go to your local grocery store & buy 'Nathans Hot Dogs' they ARE NOT the same
as the 3 I have cooked in the pic above. The ones in your local grocery store will taste no
different than a 'Ball Park' frank. These were bought in NY @ a Nathans Restaurant in
Yonkers by me, I buy several 5 pound restaurant packs every time I go to NY.

I'm headed to NY next week, Nathan's will be my 1st & also
my last stop while there. I'm bringing enough cooler space to
take home a minimum of 40#'s, that's 320 dogs that I'll have
to repack (8 to a bag) into ziplocks & freeze. well worth the
efforts though as each time I cook some here in MN it takes
me right home to NY again, this is the dog I grew up eating.

This is a south face view of the Yonkers Nathan's (soon to be
demolished) which I hope to still find open, if not I'll have to
travel to the original Nathan's out in Coney Island to hit the
restaurant there, it's the one pictured in my earlier post.......

In my area they have two kinds of Nathan's. I buy the natural casing. Looks just like those in your pic. Not the short fat kind that are skinless.
