Is McNabb going to be a Raider? He's still a solid QB who can lead a team to a bunch of wins. Personally I think the Raiders would be better off pursuing Vick, he's cheaper and more signable long-term, but McNabb is certainly an upgrade at QB over the current options...

I think he would have been more likely to succeed in Oakland; they're younger and more talented on offense. Maybe he just didnt want to deal with an old, crazy owner making everyone miserable. But honestly, I dont think Davis hangs around the team much anymore, he's not in good shape.

Maybe Clausen falls to the Raiders now. He could bring back the swagger to the Raiders; he's got that jerk image that, if he ever becomes a winner, will bring back the bad-boy image of the silver and black.

Brother you hit it the nail right on the head.. About Mcnadd's hehe.. And about clausen he is an arrogant SOB... And that is what the raiders need. I also think even though he is arrogant i think he would be a good leader kinda like aikman just aikman was less flashy, but very arrogant imo.. As for Al Rigamortis Davis who is like 137 yrs old. I wish he would just give it up, and let this team become a winning team again If he was really as wise as they all claim. He would give up the team and sit back maybe watch them start to succeed so he can go out happy.. Baba, The reason Mcnabb wants to go to the redskins instead of the raiders is simple he wants to throw it in the eagles face when he gets to play them Twice a year! Other reason could have been not having to move himself and his family all the way out to the west coast. Philly is very close to DC. On top of that Redskins have a much better coach in Shannahan than the Raiders dysfunctional organization (no offense sacko) . Also don't be surprised to see the skins draft clausen too, have him sit and learn from McNabb for a couple years I mean Mcnabb only got 2 "good" years left IMO. Clausen could benefit from learning the NFL for a year or two, this will also allow the skins origination to get the players around him to make him successful when he does start.


By the way I started up a Baseball thread for anyone that wants throw in their two cents. I like the idea of this being only a football thread with no other sports mentioned. Keeps things flowing smoothly plus their is always a lot to talk about during the NFL off season with combines, the draft, and trades.

Those are good points, Ottoman. McNabb is married and has four kids; they live in Jersey during the season and Arizona during the offseason. Being in DC he would only be a couple hours from his kids. Plus having Shanahan as a coach, and knowing how he and Elway earned two rings after Elway turned 34, made him think of the possibilities.
I actually dont think Cable is a bad coach. Maybe he's got some anger issues, but that's probably not uncommon among football coaches.
And even though I mentioned that Clausen comes across as a jerk, in reality I dont think he is one. Reading up on him, the people who really know him say he's a good guy. Maybe it's just the golden-boy image, combined with that perma-smirk, that rubs people the wrong way.
Well, personally I think the Redskins have to take the best OL available at #4, but I suppose they could take their QB of the future instead. McNabb might not be too happy about that, though...

Baba, I am in total agreement with you, I happen to like Cable as well he just in a tough spot and in my eyes did a get job last season, with NO QB. As long as the old man sit in the royal rocking chair things won't head in the right direction and the organization will continue to be in shock.

Also Philly trading McNabb especially in the same division means they think he is washed up, its almost an insult to McNabb. But I think Shanahan is a great coach and you brought up a great point with him and elway late in his career. I am also thinking your right about them drafting an OL, probably that monster from OK st, Okung.

Clausen in my eyes just needs to talk to the people he is suppose to and shut his mouth and prove everyone wrong on the field. I do think he'll be a starting QB he just needs to mature a little, i do think Bradford will have a better career tho, he is just so damn accurate and smart, probably the 2 most important tools a QB can have.

Supposedly the local Georgia DA will announce that they will not be pursuing charges against Roethlisberger. Thats the good news.

The bad news is that the Steelers will be trading 2009 Superbowl MVP Santonio Holmes to the Jets for a 5th round pick in this year's draft. This one day after Santonio allegedly skipped a drug test or failed a drug test, meaning he will serve a 4 game suspension to start the season...

Brandon Marshall too Miami, great pick up by them he is def a top 3 WR in the league on SUNDAY only. I really wish the cowboys were gonna try to get him he is soo nasty. Miami was smart too, they gave him a contract with guaranteed money too make him happy, which Denver was not doing. I think this is a great signing and he won't be a problem in the looker room with sporano and parcells around.

I now see Denver taking Dez Bryant with their #1 pick, they have plenty of other picks for D, they're in big need of a WR now.

Marshall to Miami for two 2nd round picks, one this year and one next year, is definitely a big deal. I think Marshall is a younger TO: big, strong, fast, with an attitude to match.
The AFC East looks to be shaping up as one tough division.

Miami subsequently traded Ted Ginn Jr. to the Niners for a 5th rounder. Ginn never lived up to his billing with the Dolphins, but he can definitely return kicks (2 100+ yarders in one game this season) and maybe try to stretch the field for the Niners. A change of scenery could be good for him; he's a South Florida native so being away from his family and friends might remove a lot of distractions for him...
