Prognosis: there will be no flights from and to Schiphol during the upcoming hours. Unfortunately at this stage no indication as to when flight operations will be restarted can be given.

Passengers are strongly advised to stay tuned for further developments and to contact their airline before proceeding to the airport.

i just got back from the airport, my flight was canceled, got 1 for tomorrow 17.30, lets hope that one isn't canceled, else my room will be gone too, guy said he'd hold it till tomorrow, but not longer.

so i won't be making it for 4:20 smokeout at the GH central today :sad:
with any luck i'll see you all tomorrow night.

Im supposed to be flying out tomorrow, cant get in touch with my airline, not taking the chance, im getting a train to london today, then the eurostar over to belgium, then picked up from there and straight to amsterdam, some fucking about but at least i will be there for tomorrow, fuck the volcano, i will still be there.

Update 13:30 Ernstige verstoring vliegverkeer van en naar Nederland
Prognose: er is in ieder geval tot 06.00 uur zaterdagochtend geen vliegverkeer van en naar Schiphol. Helaas is op dit moment nog geen tijdstip bekend waarop het vliegverkeer wel weer hervat kan worden.

it might be worth mentioning high speed trains in case of cancelled flights. I was reading earlier that 'dam central may not be recieving trains on Sat/Sun due to maintenance and international trains are terminating at either Duivendrecht or A'dam-Zuid.

If you're faced with those destination stations and not sure, I can tell you that you will not have any trouble reaching central from either one either by bus or metro (in the event that there are zero trains to A'dam central, although I think that its just international trains and "some" local services that are affected)

trains are slow as hell, who wants to be cooped up in a train seat for 9 hours. not my idea of a good time, maybe a night train would be tolerable, will think about it, if my flight tomorrow is also canceled, i guess i can always look for another hotel or bed and breakfast if i don't make it till Sunday.

would be nice to be there for Jack Herer's moment of silence on 4.20

If you drove there, where would people recommend to find easy enough from the motorway,park up, not get your car robbed, but be able to get a tram or whatever into the Centrum ?

I am thinking of driving if my plane is eventually cancelled, getting the train via Paris seems to be slower and more expensive.

I got my cancelled flight for today rebooked for gatwick tomorrow eve so will be there tomorrow late,inshallah...But I'm Giving up hope on my parcel arriving in time now if at all though....

hmm, what about a scenario when too many good friends will not be able to make it to the 'Dam?

The damn volcano hasn't stopped erupting, the predictions about airspace opening tomorrow are wayy optimistic imho. Norwegians are saying that the ash will still be around on sunday. Nobody knows for certain as to when the planes will start to fly, and then there'll be hundreds of thousands waiting in a cue?

Maaan, what if theres a just a bunch of judges and spectators making it afterall? I think that there should be an alternative scenario just in case, just what Hazy says...
