your welcome... I'm glad that stuff is getting used instead of sitting in my basement. How do those spinner spayers work?

I would drill as many holes as you can fit. If you have empty spaces without clones, just put a net pot with a piece of neoprene in it to act as a stopper.

The spinner sprayers work good not great. Why not just cut 6 if im using only 6 for now and just leave the others not drilled out?

'Cause shit may fail to sprout roots...i.e. it is a dead clone.

I can't edit my last post above because I'm using a proxy, but I have to correct this: I wrote "your welcome" instead of "you're welcome".... had to fix that...

yeah, you'll want to take more clones than you'll need, and whenever they root just get rid of the extra ones.

Wow I'm coming into this late, its looking great!! I'm currently building a similar system but only 4 buckets its going to be my first rdwc so I'm in the learning process and I also don't have a chiller so I'll be taking some notes from your build.I'm already planning on getting that bubble insulation to wrap my buckets with.

New stuff

Ballast outside of veg room, built a shelf for germinating. Fan for air removal in veg room, and just a blowing fan for the flower room. Its coming along.

Is that a hanging fan in the last set of pics? Mind posting the brand?

Now that its about time for me to start this thing. I have some water questions. What water should I use for germinatin and for my cloner. How offten should I empty and replace nutes in the cloner? I will probably learn a lot as I go alone but its nice to here from others. Oh yea, should my rez be pre mixed and full when there in that system. Should I oxyigenate the rez?

yeah how did you mount that black fan? Did you have to take it off that broken stand or something? I need to get back over there

Personally I wouldn't use the cloner to germinate the seeds!

Cloner: Oxygenate (air stone), use plain water (or RO), pump on first 24hrs, then switch to 15on/off. If you feel compelled to add nutes, seedling strength (usually 1/4 strength).
Check out Richy Rich, he gets awesome growth out of his cloner.

Germination: Normally with seed, I germinate in a wet paper towel, in a warm, dark place. Then once the taproot pops, I transplant into Grodan (r/w) cloning cubes, soil would work well also. You will probably want these seeds to be mothers...Which is why I said you should have germinated weeks ago. Once the seedling is big enough, you can clone it, and flower the clones to find your males vs. females (some people say you don't even need to let the clone root first, I have yet to try this first hand). Then you are left with your phenotypes. Some people feel that the seed mother gives better, more disease resistant clones than a mother formed by cloning? Then afer you finish flowering your phenotypes you can decide which are the keepers.
See, a lot goes into poping beans for your genetic library.

Never germinated a seed in a cloner, I just use the cloner for clones.

Good luck...
Just remember, with your harvest proceeds...
Patients, patients, patients.
Flood the registry, that is how we win, that is what takes the fear out of Joe Blow sitting on the fence about getting legal.

Ok I will germinate the same way but once in r/w then I would put it into the cloner. I wanna grow 6 from seed to finnish and take a cutting from each and then try the final product and get my mother that way. So which ever one of the six smokes better that will be my mother.

The fans base was taken off, I drilled a hole in the bottom of the cabinate and marked where to drill for the pole hole. I screwed a 3" screw in through the pole into the back of the cabinate to keep it sturdy. Its not a special undermount fan. Ill get the model name when I get home.
