Chemicals the reason for terrible taste?

I think I picked up my first OZ of what I would suspect to have been grown using chemicals. It has good to moderate bag appeal, but the kickers is the smell. Once I crack open the mason jar the skunk smell gushes out, and fills my small room up pretty quick. But once I took the first bong rip, all the pleasantries left. The taste / aftertaste is so bad, I resorted to using the roor carbon adapter on my bong, so that I could get high, and not deal with the shitty taste.

Characteristics of the bud: Slightly darker green than usual, extremely dry, skunk smell, creeper certified. You won't feel anything for 10 minutes then bam, it hits hard. Heavy indica, with little to no sativa effects. Very quick tolerance build up. The first 1/8 was killer, and now that I'm getting to the end of the bag it's taking 5 bong rips to get a head change.

If I don't use the carbon adapter, I have to pack a small bowl. Because if you can't clear it, you sure as hell don't want the harshness of left over smoke.
I'll try to get a few macro shots, if anyone is interested. But other than bag appeal they wouldn't really tell much.

Are there any other reasons other than it was grown with chemicals that could be leading to the horrible taste? Are there any health concerns?

Thanks for the help,

I find terrible harsh taste is often from tiny little seeds. like real small underdeveloped seeds.

a lot of bud I see has them in it in varying amounts.

Organic fertilisers are chemicals too you do realise.

And Flushing is a myth

Most of the time the crappy taste is unbroken down chlorophyl

Look at Joe's post number. Just a coincidence or is it in a fact semi-divine numerical concordant confirmation of his statement?

Seriously, flushing is teh ghey...for the most part.

It probably hasn't been dried and cured properly, so you still get a nasty harsh taste from the chlorophyll.

The last 30 days of the plant's life need to be breaking down cloro/in prep for breaking it down. The faster the dry the less time the plant has to break down. That's why its important to slow cure and dry.

shitty overferted fast dried bud. i once made that mistake when first growing with miracle grow. weed was unsmokable to me . yuck . switched to organics and never have had a bad tasting bud yet ,even without a flush or curing and fast dried. proof enough for me

Hey, I think I recently bought some of the same stuff. lol Was at a friends who had a good bit and it smells good and looks decent so I bought a little for the hell of it. To try something different. Well the taste is shit and the smoke is harsh and also has the same creeper buzz. I call it a buzz, b/c it no longers gets me high. I have about 5 grams left of it and the only thing I'm finding useful from it is grinding the buds up and dry sifting them for the trichs.
