I need some help please!

It looks like they were not watered enough, probably from those small bags....why even bother with bagging their roots in like that?

Yeah over watering a plant that large in August is going to be hard to do. I have grown in swamps where just a few inches down there would be standing water but yet it could have been possible. I did hear lots of viruses just recently. I belive its called TMV? I have seen some grows where people claim to have it and it seems to effect the yeild mostly. This would be the first I have seen of it actually killing plants.

Another thought I had was rounup or a weed killer. To me from the pics it does not look like you where close to a feild but I have also seen plants shrivle and die very quickly from an aplication of roundup.

Competing with other roots is not a bad thing but it deffinatley will slow em down. But by pulling all other weeds in the general vacinity will more than liklet take 95% of that problem away. Now if you do seem to be having a lack of moisture problem mulching can help retain moisture. Also water polymer's I wouldn't recomend unless its really a big issue to retain water as they expand when they collect water when they expand it will make your soil more compact and there for making it harder for your roots to move around freely.

Like the water crystals? I was wondering how they would do with cannabis.

cimis and minime's pics tell the story and the plants in those pictures died from Powdery Mildew. Ive fought it for years and i know it. Unfortunately last year it was rampant in many areas and killed countless grows, including 2/3rds of mine. Powdery mildew is a fatal condition in cannabis. It is systemic in nature and by the time a thin, opaque/white film is observed on the plants, death is immenent. The first indication that there's a problem is the unusual yellowing of leaves, even on the upper part of the plant and within a week or 2 nearly all of the primary and secondary fan leaves will yellow and drop from the plant and it will die. If you see white powder on your plants, dont worry. Thats downy mildew and its harmless. The white powder with PM is very subtle and you may not see it at all.

Powerful systemic fungicides can be used successfully but are dangerous and great care should be used.

Here are some suggestions from Chimera.
