At least I got to see a Trimpro in action...
Just don't think I would ever use one, rapes the buds and they just don't look right. I guess I will still be hiring mexicans.

But it was a 'conventional' way to expose some people to what they might not otherwise see. Especially the older crowd.

you plan on running one 600w on 240? It might be a lot cheaper/easier to just run it at 120.

yeah i went,
wasnt to impressed,, from a growers point of view anyway.

i think i need to go to thc expo.

Did you go to the Hash Convention about a month ago? That was pretty fun they had an upstairs talk room and somebody from high times came and spoke a little on growing then they had a hash making class upstairs as well.

Yea only one 600w but i heard with 240v the light output it way more so wouldn't that be better for my 4-5 plants? or does the voltage not really matter much?
You run 240v when your garden is a couple of K's, at least.

EDIT:Okay, I guess it doesn't save on power consumption, because watts is watts, that is what people are saying. There will be a little transmission savings, but that should be negligable. The main reason to run 240v is cause then 8x 1,000w uses up 40 amps not 80 amps. So depending on wiring, you could have some copper savings, or box savings.

One 600w, and you will be living in FoCo...
Are you sure you even want to spend the extra money on a tent??? Surely you will have a spare bedroom in FoCo.

Or a sizable portion of your basement to section off.:whistling:

the 120 v 240 really has nothing to do with the brightness of the light
it has much more to do with how many amps your breaker can handle you will be able to string up more 240v's on less amps than if you did all 120's

i definatly agree that 120 will be the way to go

The running/operating costs roughly, remains the same however either way per watt

pretty much what everybody else said about your electricity is spot on..

Also to save yourself some money you could always build a tent with 1" diameter PVC from the Depot then wrap in in panda poly available at most grow stores, throw in some zippers, cut your duct holes tape around the edges and hang the light with chains from the sides.

We did it for a breeding project and the total cost was around $50 with duct tape and poly to spare.

240v doesn't save power, or volts, really it saves WIRE! And labor, and breaker box space. Wire is very expensive, and so is the labor to pull said wire. You can run twice as many lights for the same wire cost (or pretty close) and the same labor effort with 240v as you can with 120v.
If you're running one 600w, you can run a nice little op on a 15 amp 120v breaker, no problem..... plenty of extra juice for a fan, a pump, even a little heater if you needed one.

The basement is my area to grow. It is a very large basement ill have pics coming soon we go get the keys in a few days ill take pics then. I just didn't want anything to big just in case i needed heater maintenance or something but then again it is a LEGAL grow 100%. Since this seems to be the way i want to head what materials for the walls? I have seen the video of the guy with the green face should i just follow his instructions and build it like his with a few exceptions(DWC,LIGHT VENT) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-oYJs1FtQ4
