ive been following this thread closely, excited for 420 in amsterdam. it will be my first time at the cup, and my first time in amsterdam as well. i know more details about locations and things like that are coming, but i wanted to ask some of you who have been in the past what it is like.
unfortunately i dont plan on entering any strains but id love to sample them all. can anyone be a judge? do i have to sign up ahead of time or can i just go and register there?
any help anyone could give me would be awesome

Yes mate, anyone can be a judge, anyone with about 300 euros that is (based on last years pricing)
As for what it's like... I went last year and had a great time... this is NOT a bells n whistles n flashing lights affair like "some other cups" but a much more relaxed weekend session with some great people...
I hear there's some plans for bands etc this year and although there wasnt anything like that last year, I still had a great time... frankly I can see bands in A'dam any and every day of the week and that's not what the cup was about for me personally, so this was of little consequence

damn 300 euro is pretty steep, especially for a college student traveling around europe. oh well at least i can enjoy the all of the great cannabis and coffeeshops and maybe take part in some of the other activities.

Its more than I can afford too mate, but even though I didnt get a judges pass last year, I still had a great time and smoked maybe as many as 12-15 of the entries when kind judges offered spliffs on ... there was a lot to sample so not every judge smoked a 100% of each sample, and there were many half spliffs being passed on
Besides that, I was also very lucky to try some of the goodies that some of the guys here had brought along and even got some free seeds from some very generous people...
I'm sure if you're there this year you'll get to try at least one cup entry (mine )
